Miroku, Warrior Monk
Woot! Ultra Rare Miroku! About time I say. Then
again, if I had any say,
next set would have an ultra rare Jakotsu and an
Ultra Rare Shippo. You
know you'd want that Shippo :)
Anyway, onto the card at hand. He has two effects,
and both have kill
effects. The first is a power-up ability that will
kill an opponent's
defeated character. A solid effect. Secondly, as
long as he's only with
Good character, he kills any
character he defeats unless your opponent discards a
card. So, either
lessen their options on the board or in their hand
in one attack. Control
decks will enjoy Miroku effect I do think, as will
Team Inuyasha and
Priest/Priestess decks. I mean,
all around his effect is worth it. Keep in mind,
however, that he only has
3 white and he'll be a big target to your opponent.
Give him the Hakudoshi
item or something to just protect him in general.

Miroku, Warrior Monk.
First I want to say I`ve been waiting for really
good priest/priestesses, especially an UR to come
out for a while, and we finally get a Miroku UR.
3, 7, 6, not bad, not bad at all, not as strong as
Bankotsu from yesterday, but BO7 characters are
breaking the mold of what the color patterns were,
so just coming close is nice. Also, a 4 deck cost, a
little high, but reasonable for the high colors. His
power up lets you kill an opponent`s defeated
character, nice for taking out that important or
high deck cost character that you defeated earlier.
His continual effect is@that when Miroku defeats a
character while you control only good characters
that character is killed unless your opponent
discards a card from his/her hand.
Notice it doesn`t say kill INSTEAD, I always hate
seeing that attached to any kill effect, because it
doesn`t steal you a shard, this however does defeat
the character and then kill it, netting you the
shard. Your opponent can stop this, by discarding a
card, but if they do, that means they have to
discard that card, and another when during recovery
to save the character.
Excellent, either they have to give up the
character, and replay it next turn, or they have to
use 2 cards to save it instead of 1. Card advantage
is important in pretty much every card game, and
Inuyasha is no exception, despite the greater hand
sizes and drawing each turn, cards are used quickly
in this game, and having to give up twice the amount
to keep a character in play might be too much for
your opponent.
casual:4/5(good colors, though his effect won`t get
off in a deck that isn`t solely good, or at least
mostly)
Tournament:4.5/5(I really think this is a great new
card, it works in any good deck, but this will
definately help Priest/Priestess.) Art:3/5(Miroku is
cool, but this isn`t great, not crap, but not
great.)

I
haven't done this in such a long time...good to be
back in action with it!
Anyway, moving on. This is the latest ultra rare
that I pulled out, and the first one for my friend
who bought a box last week. I see this as a nice
little card for both Priest/Priestess Decks and
possibly a Hero's Deck. I pulled one out and slapped
it in to my Hero's Deck. It works; however, use it
wisely. I love his effect. Killing a character isn't
as hard as it seems, but sometimes when the opponent
doesn't have anymore cards at hand, they need to
kill it. Sounds good, no? I love it's effect. Great
for an ultra rare, but the white could be a bit
more...or of a different color like black for
instance or green. But all in all, he's good for a
hand destruction deck, an auto kill deck, or things
that could be blown into your mind. But not every
deck needs it. You could possibly build around it
too. I would love to see one!
Casual Play: 3/5
Tournament Play: 3.7/5 I would more or less see it
in play
Any of the Decks mentioned above: 4/5
Art: 3.5/5 Stern face for Miroku...
