POKeMON TOURNAMENT

Date: 12-4-99

The Deck:

    This was another decent sized tournament at my local store. My friend
Aaron who went with me last week couldnt make it to this one. I was looking
to equal my last tournament record of 9-0 in the rounds...Here's how it went!

Round 1: Opponent: Chris AKA "wow, more people i've never seen here before!"
Game 1: quickly taken by me as his only basic is a growlithe that never gets
2 energy due to energy removals. My electabuzz off's it on the 3rd turn.
Game 2: Terrible draws for me, i dont draw a basic in my first two hands, and
in the third one its a zapdos and only 1 energy. He plays a fossil magmar and
on his second turn my zapdos, my only basic, is poisoned. Take a wild guess
as to where that zapdos is on turn 3....there went my hopes of going 9-0
again...::sigh::
Game 3: Long one, i won it because my benched aerodactyl prevented him from
evolving into arcanines and rapidash's. Zapdos provided thunder attacks that
worked nicely, dealing 60 damage that was conveniently the same number of hp
that growlithe has.
Record: (2-1)

Round 2: Opponent: Bryan AKA "kid who always asks me to forfeit games to him"
Game 1: his only basic is ditto, and electabuzz takes it out on turn 3 w/two
thunderpunches.
Game 2: Drawn out game, i win with 0 cards left in my deck on  a triple
pluspowered thunderpunch from electabuzz taking out a hitmonchan and allowing
me to draw my 6th prize.
Game 3: Another quick one, he only draws a dratini, killed on turn 2 by
electabuzz's thunderpunch.
Record: (5-1)

Round 3: Opponent: Ben AKA "Dang, Ben, you've got a LOT of cards!"
Game 1: VERY close one. I thought i was toast when he got an alakazam in play
before i evolved my mysterious fossil into aerodactyl. 1 turn away from
death, with a no-energy electabuzz active, a no-energy aerodactyl and a fully
powered zapdos on the bench, and no cards in hand, and i draw a prof. oak.
from there i scooped up the electabuzz, double pluspowered the zapdos, played
the electabuzz on the bench, and thunder'ed away his alakazam. From there the
zapdos and electabuzz took out the rest of his pokemon.
Game 2: not as close as the last one by a longshot. His only basic is an abra
(!) and electabuzz took him out on turn 1 with 2 pluspowers on a thundershock.
Game 3: i barely pulled this one off, drawing my 6th prize on a thunderbolt
from zapdos against a chansey that had 3 damage ctrs on it already, courtesy
of electabuzz.
Record: (8-1)

Well, it wasnt 9-0, but it was good enough to get me into the...
FINALS: Opponent: Du AKA Dude AKA "The mini-me to Frankie's Dr. Evil"
Game 1: I won with 5 cards left in my deck when my zapdos took out 3 scythers
in 3 turns
Game 2: i prof. oaked 1 too many times and decked myself! oh no!!!!!!
Game 3: his only basic was a scyther (grin). Electabuzz off'ed it on turn 2
with 2 pluspowers!

I won! my prize was $40 in store credit, with which i purchased fossil packs
and paid for my entrance to the sealed deck M:tG tournament the next day.

...And on to the best part!!!
PROPS to Me, for "reclaiming my place" as the store's pokemon champion!

good            player!

SLOPS to Mark, for waiting so long to buy me "Issues" by KoRn as my birthday   
    present that i finally gave up on the prospect of him buying it for my
and         spent my own money on it buying it for myself because i couldnt
go      another day without it because the song "trash" was stuck in my head   
    for 4 days straight!
SLOPS to the last slop, for being the longest slop in recorded history!
SLOPS to Me, for not having the willpower to save some of my store credit for
a       rainy day!
SLOPS to Me, for not pullin a rare foil out of 24 M:tG packs i bought today!
SLOPS to Mark, same as the last slop he recieved, its just that that was so    
    terrible he deserved two slops, lol!
