Dear Pojo,
       
        My neighborhood comic shop in Newtown CT, held a very large
tournament on Semptember 1, 1999 that I took place in. It cost me $10 to get
in and i used my own deck.  There was 24 people that took place in it
counting myself.  The way it worked was there were 5 round robin games and
then the 16 best people took place in the tournament.  In the round robin
games my record was 3-2.  I placed 9th over all and made it into the
tournament. 

Round 1
    In the first round I faced the 8th place person.  He was betting me 5
prize cards to 3 but them I pulled out my charizard that had sitting on my
bench I had 4 fire energy cards on him and I had plenty more in my hand.  My
opponent had a raichu out and had 30hp left.  I hit him with fire spin and
finished him off.  The next 2 pokémon I knocked out was magmar and pikachu
(jungle set).  I beet him 6-5

Round 2
    In round 2 I faced the 1st place person.  He wiped the floor with me with
his zapdos and my pokémon did not have a chance. The final score was 6-1 him.
He when on to win the tournament.


My winnings:
    I got a free jungle booster pack for joining and a couple of prize cards
that I won in round 1+2 and in the round robin games.
