Pokemon TCG Tournament

It was a regular Friday afternoon I had just gotten out of
school and me
and my best friend Joe were headed to our local neighborhood comic shop.
We
have taken place in other pokemon TCG tournaments but none this big. When
we
arrived we had to pay $10 to get in the tournament. We sat at a large
round
table with 30 other people. Everyone was given a number. My number
was 27
and Joe's was 28. I was ready to go because I wanted to try out my new deck.
I made some changes to my Red Alert deck and renamed it firestorm. Here's how
it looks:

First Round- Electric Shock Show Down
In the first round I faced the number 6 person who's deck was
100%

His Zapdos knocked out my Pikachu and Charmander but then I send out my
kangaskan that killed a zapdos and 2 Raichus. I was up 3-2 when he put a
zapdos out to finish off my kangaskan and tie up the score. That is when I
pulled out my big gun (Charizard), which beat his zapdos and 2 Electabuzzs to
a bloody pulp. I beat him 6-3

I won a free base set booster pack for making it to the
second round.

Round 2- Power outage
In the tired round I faced the 10 person who had Electric and Psychic

I mopped the floor with his 2 abras, 2 gastlys, and 2 mewtwos. With just
my
zapdos! He did not put up much of a fight. The score was 6-0.

I got a free jungle booster pack for making it in to
the third round.
The rare card was a Mr.Mime (non-hologram).
Round 3- Zapdos Shocks Back
In this round face the number 2 person and there was only 8 people left.
It
was getting intense. My opponent only had fighting pokemon.

During the match I got up 3-1 but then had problems getting energy cards.
I
had a Charizard and Moltres on my bench and they both didn't have a single
energy card on them. So I played my Clefairy doll to give me sometime.
He
had I Machamp out that had full energy and HP. After my Clefairy doll was
knocked out I send out my Charizard and started to build up energy on my
zapdos. After my Charizard was killed I sent out a Vulpix that was kill
with
one hit to even up the score but that was ok because my zapdos was ready to
go. I send him out and killed Machamp with one hit! Zapdos destroyed
his
next 2 pokemon as I got the victory 6-3.

I got a free fossil booster pack for making it into the
fourth round.
The rare card in the pack was a Muk (hologram).
Fourth Round- Charizard Battle
In the fourth round there was only 4 people left counting
myself! I
faced the number 12 person who had 3 different kinds of pokemon. Fire,
Water, and Plant.

This round was very hard. The first pokemon he seen out was a Bulbasaur
but
then he evolved it into a Venusaur and the first pokemon I send out was a
zapdos the first few turns was just attaching energy cards to are pokemon I
got first attack and killed his Venusaur in one hit! When I drew a prize
card I almost fell out of my seat I got a Charizard! I quickly throw it on
my bench with a Charmander and Charmeleon. When my zapdos was done it was
5-1 and I was winning then he send out a Charizard and I seen out mine I got
first attack and hit him and he fell in 2 hits. I won!

I got a jungle, fossil, and base set booster packs!
The rare cards were
pokemon breeder, Hitmonlee (hologram), and a Scyther (non-hologram).
Final Round- Winner Takes All
It was the final round as I sat down at the table a looked
over and saw
Joe (my best friend)! I could believe that he was that he makes it all the
way to the finals! His deck had only had colorless pokemon

The match started out horrible for me my first 5 pokemon were
knocking
out by his kangaskan!
He was winning 5-0! But then came my big break after I sent out my zapdos and
killed his kangaskan he looked up at me and said, "I have no basic pokemon
to
play." That forced him to lose and I WON!
