My deck is called Charizard's Blackout. It is an Electric/Fire/Psychic Deck
containing:
4 Charmanders
4 Charmeleon
3 Charizard
2 Mr. Mime
3 Drowzee
2 Hypno
1 Zapdos (Base Set)
3 Electabuzz
12 Fire Energy
8 Electric Energy
8 Psychic Energy
2 Double Colorless Energy
8 Energy Search
I played in a single elimination tournament at Best Comics in Great Neck, New
York with 64 people. The results were as follows:
Match 1 (round of 64)
I played a grass/water deck. I started out with an Electabuzz and took out
two Staryus before he finally killed me with a Venusaur. Then I sent out a
Mr. Mime to stall and beat down his Venusaur. Then I sent out Charizard and
that was the end of that.

Match 2 (round of 32)
I played a Raindance deck, which was childs play for my Electabuzz and
Zapdos. I got a Charizard out early, and killed a Blastoise with it, but when
that was killed, My Zapdos went in and killed 2 Blastoise and a Gyarados to
win.

Match 3 (round of 16)
I played a haymaker deck. This was a close match, with my Electabuzz and
Hypno keeping me in the game, but once I built up my Zapdos and Charizard, it
was over.

Match 4 (round of 8)
I played a Grass/Fighting deck. I got my Electabuzz out early, and killed his
pokemon. He had no more bench pokemon, so I won.

Match 5 (round of 4)
I played a Psychic/Electric haymaker, with Electabuzz as it's "haymaker" and
Mr. Mime to protect against Charizards and such. I won the toss and got my
Electabuzz out first. He had his out, and I killed his, and then he killed
mine. This went back and forth for a while, until I got my Charizard out and
killed one of his pokemon. He brought out Mr. Mime, but I switched to
Electabuzz and killed it. With that gone, Charizard took care of the rest.

Match 6 (Finals)
Just for making it here, I got 6 booster packs, in which I got a Venusaur and
Mewtwo. The winner of the tournament would get an unopened box of booster
packs and a 2 player starter deck.
I won the toss and got out my Mr. Mime. He had a true haymaker (grass and
electric) and got out a Scyther. Mr. Mime barely killed him, so I had to
retreat for Electabuzz. He brought out a fully loaded Scyther, and killed it
in a couple of turns. I only had two Charmanders on my bench and a Charizard
in my hand and a double colorless energy, but his Scyther was almost dead, so
I brought out Charmander and killed it. The Charmander on my bench had 4 fire
energies on it. He brought out Electabuzz, and killed my Charmander. He had
one prize left, while I had two. I drew a card. I got a Charmeleon, played it
and my Charizard on my Charmander and killed his Electabuzz. He brought out a
Chansey and double edged, but I played my double colorless energy and won the
game and the tournament.
