I call my new Killer Deck the Intimidator. If you follow my play in
tournaments you know I had a very sucessful deck known as the Eliminator.
This is just a bit different. My damage swapper has been falling ocassionally
to the latest craze, Dark Mind decks. All of my great decks are fusions of
the main archtypes. This combines Haymaker and Dark Mind into a great deck
that manages to cover its weaknesses. I played it at LA Sports Cards and
Collectibles on November 1. There was a great turn out and I know this one
will help my DCI ranking big time.
Again.....heres the lowdown, the stuff everyone wants, the deck itself.

Round 1: Really Serious Guy
I thought this guy had a nifty deck box. It was leather and on his belt.
Since it was early I put on a smile and chatted while shuffling. When the 20
minute clock came on I flipped and won. This is my first game with this deck,
will it work? I got the best starter in my book, Hitmonchan! I smirked seeing
his selection, Electabuzz. 2 jabs sent him packing. I held off with a barrage
of the Hitmon family while digging around for Gengar. I watched his cards and
determined that it was a classic Haymaker. I spent the whole game working for
Gengar and won with Jynx. Irony? Maybe. I won anyway.
Round 2: Kid who had no idea what was happening
This kid was 14 and had the IQ of Mayonaise! He stared vacantly while I did
my turns so I had to put his KOed guys in the Discard Pile. I sent Meowth
after Meowth into the next dimension and came out with no KO's. Game. Set.
Match? Takeshi! This reminds me, Pregnant women! Don't do drugs!!
Round 3: Really Unconfident Guy
"Oh dear.....I'm gonna lose!" I heard this the whole game! It was a
good
match though. He stalled with a Rhyhorn but I nailed him before he got to
evolve. He matched a Scyther with mine. I won the race because I ERed him to
death. Big Gengar came up and sent him down. Kids....have confidence....you
aren't as bad as you think.
Round 4: Girl known simply as "Chan"
She lived in Japan and plays mostly with Japanese. Thank God this tournament
was no Japanese! She was playing a nice Dark Mind deck. I relied solely on
Psychic. My brand new Mewtwo kicked butt and took names. She charged Gengar
the whole game and I ERed and smacked her with Mewtwo. She never said a thing
and kind of intimidated me. She made a great late game surge with a Jynx, but
Mr. Mime came in and cleaned up. Winner? Takeshi.
Round 5: Sabrina
Another girl?! I don't have anything against girls now! "Sabrina" is a
great
player. Shes really big in this part of town and acts and dresses like
Sabrina from Pokemon. I knew Psychic was coming and hoped she wasn't big into
Fossil yet. I was glad she was still using a damage swap. The only words
coming from her mouth were attacks. I flooded damage onto her with everything
I had. Mewtwo and Hitmonchans got nailed. I filled up her bench with damage
and hoped she was Pokecenter less! I knew she was ignorant in the ways of
Fossil and got Lee ready. She made a vital error. I charged in and stretch
kicked her packed Alakazam. For the first time her face showed emotion. The
next turn she bred an Abra into Alakazam and spred the damage evenly. I got
decked. Lost in the finals? Yep. I'm not used to this! It helped my ranking
anyway and I picked up 2 Japanese boosters (Rockets).
Anyway, use my deck, take good care of your Pokemon. Don't cheat, its not
worth it. As for me, I'll be back soon with another review and deck. Have fun
til then!
