The Tourney was held in Brooklyn Center Minnesota at SKS comics 6072 Shingle
Creek Parkway. It had only eight people this time and that's the only reason
why I played. I work up front at the store usually but they didn't have
enough people to play so I filled the final slot and had my opponents come up
front to play me.

Match One Vs the kid in the red jacket. (Know one in the store ever gets this
kid's name so we al call him that.)
Games 1-3 He didn't seem to know what he was doing a kept asking me to lose
so he could actually get past the first round. I told him I couldn't because
I had to set an example for the other players, which was a load of BS. I just
don't bow out for people like that. He seemed to have a blue deck, but never
seemed to get anything but fire energy. He got out a few evees but that was
about it. I ended up killing all his Pokeman with my Electabuzzes. The next
game he only got one basic and I killed him quickly. He wasn't much of a
fight, I told him later if he wanted help building a deck I would but he said
no. He didn't get any prizes throughout the game.
Match two
This one was a bit harder. It was against a kid I've been working with. The
only drawback is we knew each others decks and in the end it gave me a bigger
advantage than him since I have more experience at these types of games than
he did.
Game one- This was a fairly quick game, he uses a pshic and electric deck
(based on one of mine). He put out two Mr. Mimes right away which was a big
mistake. I ate them up quick. Not much to say about this battle, a lot of
energy removals were used but he couldn't stand up to my deck especially
since I knew his deck well and what to attack. He knew mine just as well but
didn't seem to be able to get a handle on it like I was. At this point he
started to get mad at me for playing in the tourney and I just said it
couldn't be helped. I didn't even really want to in the first place, even
though I was starting to have a good time. My opponent managed to get four of
his six prizes.
Game two: He actually won this one. I didn't get any energy for six turns and
by then it was almost to late. I basically ended up just trying to stall
as
long as possible but with this deck it's not very likely. I only got two
prizes.
Game three: Pretty much like the first one, except it was a lot faster. He
couldn't do much, and I had a great hand with the right combo of trainers,
energy and Pokeman. I remember oaking a few times, which sped up the game
even faster. The little damage he did I used scoop up to ditch it before he
could take any prizes. He got really mad at me this time after he lost and I
had to kick him out of the store for swearing and yelling at the other
players. He didn't get any prizes and I ran him out of Pokeman. I think I got
four prizes.
Match 3 (final round)
This kid had been winning the last three tourneys, and everyone wanted me to
beat him. I felt sorry for him because he had no one rooting for him,
although I hear he can be rather cocky. He had a similar deck to mine except
I noticed he had four Scythers less Super Energy removals and scoop ups. Had
two computer searches and a few gamblers (Just don't like that card).
First game
I felt bad about what happen with Chris so I wasn't in top form, I didn't
shuffle well and I was playing sloppy. He won this one but it was close. I
had two prizes left when he won.
Second Game
I started to feel a little better and he started to get a bit cocky so it
woke me up a bit. I still didn't make that much effort to shuffle my deck,
but midway through the game I stared to do really well and ran him out of
Pokeman. I think we had equal prizes. I also noticed that I was a little
loose with my hand. It was expose quite a few times and he was taking
advantage of that (problems with working at the store and playing in a
tourney at the same time) I would always do a lot worse when I was being
careless with my hand. I remember this next game and did my best to keep it
hidden when someone wanted to buy something.
Third Game
This game was quite the slaughter, I don't remember if he got any prizes or
not but I doubt he got many. I made sure to shuffle a bit more this time and
it paid off. I had an awesome hand, very similar to the one I had with Chris
on the third game. In the end he was only hanging on with his Scythers but I
got them quickly.
So I won the tourney at the store I worked at. It was fun although I really
wouldn't want to do it again. To much work just for a few boosters (there was
other prizes I won but I gave it back to the store for next week). It would
have been nice to have a few more players although than I wouldn't have had
to play in the first place. No one was that much of a challenge.
