Hi again Pojo and everyone out there. I was in a tournament Sunday
November 14, 1999 at the Collectors Guild in Mansfield (okay, I gave the city
for all of you wanting to know), Massachusetts. Five people were there and it
was hard competition Sunday! The participants were John, Chris, Robert, Alex,
and me of course. I was trying to take notes but it was hard as you always
want to see what your oppponent is doing. Since there were five people we all
had to put our name into a hat to see who got the"bye" in the first round. I
got the bye. It's double elimination also. I guess I'll name my Pokémon and
then tell you my tourney results and then Props and Slops. Here we go:

<Tourney Results>

Round 1:  Bye Round!!  This was really boring as the person I was going to
play, Robert, took over an hour in his match with John. I observed this match
and noticed Robert had 3 Mr. Mimes. I also noticed he had a slightly larger
deck then John. Hmm. . .Was this kid cheating?? Oh well. Robert won and I had
to face him. Now it's round 2.

Round 2: Robert with Psychic/Ground-Fighting. Okay, Robert is really, really
good! Almost as good as me : ). (j/k). He won the coin toss and went first. I
sent out Chansey. He sent out Hitmonchan. That was mainly a sacrifice for me.
I also put Farfetch'd and Voltorb on my Bench. The next turn I drew Electrode
(80HP) and evolved Voltorb. I used Bill and put Pidgey on my Bench. I knocked
out Hitmonchan with Farfetch'd. He then sent out Kadabra and killed out my
Farfetch'd. I then sent out my Eevee with 30 damage on it because of Gengar;s
Curse. (Gengar was on Robert's Bench) (oh yeah, I forgot to tell you I got
him with the Bill) and loaded my Electrode on the bench. I tried to use Tail
Wag but it failed and Robert knocked out my Eevee. I sent out Snorlax and put
Doduo on my Bench. The next turn I evolved into Dodrio. Snorlax was knocked
out by his Hitmonlee which he Switiched with Kadabra. I sent out Ditto and he
retreated and sent out Ditto. Ditto vs. Ditto!!!! It didn't really do
anything except give us time to get energies and put down pokémon for our
bench. He retreated and sent out Mr. Mime. I retreated Ditto and Sent out
Lickitung. Lickitung did great!! He got rid of Mr. Mime, Kadabra, and Gengar.
In the end I lost the match but remember how I said his deck looked bigger at
the beginning. . .I asked him if I could look at his decked and counted 72
cards and 5 Energy Searches. I talked to the store owner, Charlie, but he
said he couldn't do anything about it so I lost. CHEATER!!!! Anyway, it's
double elimination so no big deal. Now I had to play Alex in the next round.
He lost to Chris.

Record 0-1

Round 3: Alex with Fire/Psychic. I started with Eevee he started with Mr.
Mime. He couldn't do anything to me. On his bench was 3 Mewtwo's and 2 Mr.
Mime's so a full bench. I had a Kangaskhan on my bench while i'm loading it
every move. I took out his Mr. Mime in 9 Quick Attacks, Tails 4 times. He
sent out his Mewtwo but I was ready. I had 3 Electric Energies on Eevee and
in my hand was Jolteon. He used Barrier, it hurt me 10 because of resistance.
I evolved into Jolteon, used PlusPower and used Pin Missile. I got 3 heads
and wated a PlusPower. He sent out Mr. Mime. I retreated Jolteon and sent out
Lickitung which I got as my card from the last turn when I drew. I used
Tounge Wrap and Paralyzed him. I used it again and Paralyzed and Mr. Mime was
gone. He sent out Moltres. He used Wildfire with 3 energies on him. I removed
3 cards. An Energy Removal, A Zapdos, and a Bill. I had a Dodrio on my bench
and PlusPower in my hand so I used "Retreat Aid" and sent out Jolteon. I used
Pin Missile and got 3 heads but with PlusPower that's 70 damage. Woo-hoo! He
sent out Ponyta and used Smash Kick. I used Pin Missile and go one head, not
good. He used Flame Tail this time and Jolteon was out because he had damage
on him from before. I sent out my fully-loaded Kangaskhan! I used Comet Punch
and got 1 head. Ponyta is fainted. He sent out his Mewtwo but I annihilated
with that by getting 4 heads my next Comet Punch. I won that match so now i'm
in the championship with Chris. It turns out Robert did get disqualified
after the match.

Record: 2-0 (Robert was disqualified)

CHAMPIONSHIP - Chris with Fire.  I could tell Chris was going to win when I
sent out my Ditto against his Ponyta and Ponyta killed me in 2 moves. He had
a Charmeleon on his bench and 2 Charizard's in his hand. I sent out Lickitung
against Ponyta but couldn't paralyze him Tounge Wrap. He used Smash Kick and
I used Tounge Wrap again but to no avail. He retreated Ponyta and used
Ninetales' Fire Blast to get rid of my Lickitung. I did my best but Chris was
just too good. I needn't explain the rest as you probably get the picture but
just to let you know I only got 1 prize card. An energy.

Record 1-2, placed second

     Anyway, I came in second which isn't that bad considering I got 5
dollars =/ and a pack of Fossil in which I got a holographic Articuno : ) My
sister wasn't there today because it was her 10th  birthday party and someone
bought her a pack of cards and she got a non-holo Aerodactyl. I asked her if
I could put it in my deck but she said no because she has a Grass/Ground
deck. I suggest to anyone trying to copy this to get rid of Snorlax because
his Retreat Cost is too much and to add an Energy Search or something. Now
it's time for this weeks Props and Slops.

PROPS:
Props to my sister for not entering the tourney. I have an Electric deck and
she has a Ground/Fighting in which case she would beat me.
Props to Chris for not losing, I salute you
SLOPS:
Slops to Robert, why'd you have to cheat??
Slops to the store-owner Charlie who didn't disqualify Robert until after I
already battled him. Thanx a lot!
