ROUND ONE-VS. PATRICK
Things looked pretty good; I knew from past games this guy favored
fire-type monsters.  I drew my first hand a up came a hitmonchan, machop,
and squirtle, along with some water and fighting energy, plus a breeder. I
promoted hitmonchan and won the coin toss.  I laid down an energy and jabbed
his charmander for 20. Patrick played an energy on his charmander and
scratched for 10. I jab again. Now, Patrick plays a double colorless and
evolves to charmeleon. He slashes, bringing hitmonchan down to 30 hp. I
draw, and get blastoise. I then use my breeder to evolve squirtle and play 3
water energy on blastoise, thanks to rain dance. Now, Patrick pulls out the
big guns. He evolves again into charizard and puts hitmon chan out of its
misery, thanks to another energy and energy burn, its pokemon power. Now, I
promote blastoise and use hydro pump which, along with the damage hitmon
chan did, knocks out charizard. Patrick had the prefect frustrated face as
he promoted his charmander, and from there, blastoise tore through his
fire-based bench for the win. Game two of round one was pretty uneventful,
and I was able to charge blastoise up and wreak more havoc for the round one
win.

ROUND TWO-VS. ????(Geez, I'm horrible with names!)
This opponent was playing a rainbow deck, and it was obvious he was a
newcomer. His opening hand had moltres, scyther, and electabuzz, while I had
staryu, diglett, and hitmonchan. I won the coin flip and started with
hitmonchan, while he put in electabuzz. This was good, all of his other
creatures had a resistance to fighting. I played an energy on hitmonchan and
jabbed for 40. He used thundershock, and his coin flip failed. I played an
energy on energy on diglett, evolved into dugtrio, and jabbed, sending
electabuzz away. Next, he promoted moltres, but was reluctant to use
wildfire. I began to power up dugtrio, and began to stall. My opponent was
still reluctant to attack, so I continued to power up dugtrio and stall.
When dugtrio was fully charged, I played an energy on the next turn and
retreated hitmonchan. I promoted a fully charged dugtrio and used
earthquake, which only did 40. My opponent still stalled, so I tore through
moltres and scyther for the win. The next game in round two was quick; he
only got a pikachu and I destroyed it with hitmonchan.

ROUND THREE-VS. ????(again, with the name!)

The first game was horribly quick. I only got a squirtle and my opponent
K.O.'d me in two turns with some nifty 20-damage-for-one-energy basic
pokemon. Next, he got a kangaskahn to my hitmonchan and I sooner or later
knocked it senseless with special punch, while it tried in vain to power up
for comet punch. Game three was a heated battle, bothour benches full. In
the end, my machamp seismic tossed his snorlax for the round three win.

After beating my round four opponent in a hurry, the scores were tallied
and I won first place with a four-round win of 8*** (an * is won if you
don't need to proceed to the third game.) My round three opponent was the
only reason I wasn't undeafeated with a perfect score of 8****! Oh well,
maybe next time....
