REPORT:
Round 1: Me Vs. Michael K.
This was pretty easy. I drew my promo Mewtwo, three
psychic energies, a gastly, a pokemon breeder, and a Gengar in my hand. I
slapped my Mewtwo down, and he eventually was able to psyburn for 40. I
evolved Gastly to gengar with my pokemon breeder. I was fighting against a
Haymaker deck which was centered around Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Electabuzz.
My Mewtwo took down two of his Hitmonchan. I decided to center on my psychic
pokemon for this battle. After a few Bills, I loaded up my bench with two
Gengars, a Ditto, a Venusaur and an Alakazam. The battle was done quickly, and
he only got one prize.
Round 2:
This was another easy victory. I drew a Grimer, a Muk,
three plant energies, a chansey, and another psychic energy. I evolved Grimer
immediately, and added three energies after a few turns. I was playing against
a raindance with one Blastoise and the rest of the deck was based on
Poliwraths. I centered my playing around Venusaur and Muk. Muk prevented
Blastoise's raindance, and Venusaur could easily kill the Poliwraths. After a
few minutes, this battle was overwith.
Round 3:
Here's where it got pretty tough. I was fighting a deck
with four Chanseys, four dittos, four Kangaskhan, and four Snorlax. I started
off with my trusty Grimer. I attached an energy and energy removaled the diito/Grimer.
He couldn't do anything, and I killed him. After a while, the match had boiled
down to this scenario: We each had one prize left. He had fully charged
Snorlax and I had a trusty Scyther. He then Body Slammed me, but it didn't
paralyze. I slashed him. His Snorlax already had 60 HP when I slashed him. He
now had thirty HP. He Body Slammed me again, but it paralyzed! I drew a card
praying it would be a good one. It was. I used my card, and Snorlax only
had three energies. Guess who? Energy removal to the rescue! I won, and I was
the most thankful person there.
Round 4:
I couldn't believe I had made it into the finals. I
was playing the worst deck for me. I was fighting a Charizard deck. So I
didn't bench or play any plant pokemon. I just centered on Mewtwo. However,
I drew a Mr. Mime in the middle of the battle. BAM! He was done and overwith
because he had evolved all his charmeleons, and there were three benched
Charizards. I picked each Charizard off with a Mime when he comes at me with
a Charamander. My Mime's dead, and we both have one prize left. I
frantically looked in my hand and bench for someone to take Charmander out.
All I could come up with was a Chansey with two energies and a fully charged
Grimer. I crossed my fingers and went with the. . . GRIMER. I only needed to
hit Charmander three times with Nasty Goo, and he was dead. I used nasty goo,
but didn't paralyze. He used Ember, and I had to pray that Grimer would
paralyze just right now. I flipped and. . . . . . .it's heads. I use nasty
goo again and Charmander is dead, and I am the winner. Tense, huh? I won the
championship and won ten boosters, five fossil, five jungle.
My rares were: holo-electrode, Holo-Scyther,
holo-Vileplume(rarest)Holo Mime,non-holo Victreebel.
Holo Raichu, Holo Aerodactyl, Holo Kabutops, Holo Zapdos, and five hundreth
