Hello Pojo(That ryhmes),
First off good job on talking off that person who was saying bad things
Chipmunk. After all every one is doing what they are doing because they want
to. Not because they have to. And in the end those Chipmunk emails will help
those trainers. Any way some time ago I wrote you article saying I would
send you a tourney report in August and here it is. I truly don't know what
the word stellar means but hopefully this fits in that Category.
Here we go-
Where: The Garden of Earthly Delights
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Hi, my name is Mike Yeiter. The first ever tournament at the store called The
Garden Earthly Delights. Just The Garden for short. They will be hosting a
tournament every Saturday from here on. Originally I believe 32 people were
scheduled to go as I looked at the sheet the organizer had. But less people
then that showed up. The tournament was slightly confusing and just a tad
unorganized since less people showed then should have. To eliminate that
problem you must put your money down to register for the next tournament.
Any way the tournament was single elimination. The rounds were best 3. I was
playing a deck based around Wigglytuff's Do the Wave with several hay maker
qualities in it. This is the deck list.
Energy
Fightingx10
Electricx8
Double Colorlessx3
Pokemon
Hitmonchanx4
Electabuzzx2
Farfetch'dx4
Jigglypuffx3
Wigglytuffx2
Chanseyx2
Kangaskhanx2
Trainers

Item Finderx1
I got there early. To my surprise it was already packed. I was hoping to do
a lot of trading but only managed two Scyther. I have three now but my
brother uses them so I stick with Farfetch'd. Which I don't mind after
seeing so many fire decks around. Strangely I did not see many if any people
using Fighting. Off to the tournament.
Round1 vs Joe-Water/Fire Eevee Deck
About-Joe was using a Eevee deck. I think he used Blastoise to help out
Vaporeon. He had Charmander's as well.
Game1:
He started with Squirtle. I started with Farfetch'd. He places a Eevee on
the bench while I hit on Squirtle. He was unable to do anything because I
got four early Energy Removal cards. He evolves to Flareon while I knock out
Squirtle. His Flareon has no energy and I take that out. He send out an
other Eevee. I super Energy Removal and destroy the rest of his basics.
Game 2:
Much like the first game. He had the same pokemon. I stalled a few turns
with Kangaskhan until Wigglytuff is ready to wipe him out.
Game Record: 2-0
Match Record: 1-0
Round2 vs Kyle(My Brother)-Grass Weenie
About-His deck is a quick grass deck. With Venomoth, Scyther, Pinsir's and
Koffing's. This is the hardest match of the day.
Game1:
He starts Pinsir. Me Jigglypuff. I start right away Pounding him. He put a
Scyther down and starts building it. I super Energy Removal the Scyther and
knock out Pinsir. I pound Scyther. Them evolve to Wigglytuff for the kill.
He has no more basics.
Game2:
Starts out tough for me as he blasts my Kangaskhan away with Scyther. Soon
he already has two fully pumped Scyther and a pumped Venomth. I eventually
get back in control sending in Chansey on a suicide run. It goes back and
forth. It comes down to two prize cards to one. He has the one prize card. I
may have the game with two Wigglytuff but he gusts out a Hitmonchan. He does
60 damage before I could retreat. Then he simply gusts it right back out for
the win.
Game3:
I don't remember this game that well. I remember taking out Clefable and
that it was much like the first game. I think I kept removing energy from
the Scythers he was trying to build. I win and my brother has to sit and
watch me for the rest of the day
Game Record: 4-1
Match Record: 2-0
Round3 vs Rejo-Fire/Water
About-It was a Fire/Water with Charmanders and Magmars. The Squirtle Line.
Seel/Dewgong. And Dratini/Dragonair.
Game1:
Send out Jigglypuff to his Dratini. I pound right away. He potions and
evolves. He slams but does not hit. I Super Remove and pound. HE starts
building his bench of Magmar and Charmander(Then Charmeleon). But I evolve
and kill them before they can build up as much as they would like to.
Game2:
This was very much like last game. My first Hitmonchan is the only Pokemon I
have that will be active the entire game. He beats down the other pokemon
with no problem. What ever he builds up I break down with energy removal.
Easy win.
Game Record: 6-1
Match Record: 3-0
Round4 vs Anthony-Fire/Water
About: It is the final match. I knew he had Charizard before I played him.
But afterwards I think his deck was almost the same deck I just played. He
was a good friend of Rejo I think. They spoke to each other.
Game1:
Pretty stupid of me. I almost forgot to set my prize cards which would have
cost me the game. I notice in the nick of time though so he does not get an
early advantage. I start off with electabuzz. He starts with Growlithe. He
soon has himself a Arcanine which wipes out my Electabuzz. I Super Energy
Removal and Leek Slap with a Farfetch'd to do thirty(It hit). Then I kill it
with Pot Smash. Then Farfetch'd takes over and knocks out a Charmander and
two Magmar without a problem.
Game2:
This game was easy. He starts with Charmander. Me Jigglypuff. I pound with a
DCE. He does scratch. The very next turn I evolve and do the wave for 30 to
knock out Charmander. I put two more pokemon on the bench and took out 2
Magmar and a Squirtle in one hit each. I win the game and the tournament.
Game Record: 8-1
Match Record: 4-0
I won. I got a nice Certificate that says 1st Place Pokemon Master. Blah,
blah. I checked their singles but they did not have any more Scyther so I
just got three more packs. In those packs I got a Holo Vaporeon. A non-holo
Snorlax and a non-holo Flareon. That not bad for 3 dollars. Oh wait. Six
dollars since I had to pay for my brother. Well never again. He could pay
for himself. Me and him are already signed up for next week. Maybe I'll have
him write a report. I see many reports that have Props and Slops.
Props: Rejo-He was pretty nice.
Fire/Water decks-Why not
Jigglypuff-For killing a Dragonair
Wigglytuff-For killing almost everything else.
Hitmonchan-He delivered quite a smack down one game
Slops: Who ever registered and didn't show. Making the tournament
rather confusing.
To the older magic player there who kept making fun of Pokemon
To seven dollars packs. It was not to bad for me since I used
Credit I won from the tournament but it is still bad.
This was Mike Yeiter from the Garden. Saying bye until next time.
