Hey,
Sup Pojo? I recently attended a tourney of five participants at Game
Chest in Valley View Mall, which is located in Dallas, TX on the 14th of
August. I played a "Bizzare Haymaker". Well, here's the report for the
tourney.
Game 1: Me VS. Carlos ("Rainbow" deck)
Needless to say, this went by very quickly. He had only nine basics in
his deck when he arrived, so one of the employees traded out some of his
cards for three more basics. I started with Buzz, and I think he started
with Machop. He low kicked. The previous employee (whom I like alot :])
pointed out that it did 40 damage per turn. It really didn't matter. I
remember looking at my hand and knowing it was over. I paralyzed twice
in a row and then Thunderpunched. He brought out Mankey, but could find
no energy. He peeked once, and I ended with Thunderpunch. Oh, well.
Better luck next time, Carlos.
Record: 1-0
Game 2: Me VS. Tam (Fire/Fighting deck)
I had watched a previous game of his, and saw that he had 4 Hitmos! Eek!
Well, I never knew I'd sit down to play him. ;) When he put his starter
out, it was bent. So I knew it was Hitmo, and chose Scyther as my
starter. He fought back for a time, but my resistance was just too much.
I killed Hitmo, and out came Primeape. It took me some time to take down
Primeape, but I eventually did and he had no basics.
Record: 2-0
Game 3: Me VS. Erin (Mono Fire deck)
I started with Scyther. Stupid me! I even knew she was playing fire. Oh,
well. She chose Vulpix. I swords dance, she lays an energy. I swords
dance again, she confuses!! Gr... Now I'm getting pissed. Well, to make
a long story short, she charged up Ninetales and beat the crap out of my
70 HP basics. My first, and only, loss. :(
Record: 2-1
Game 4: I got the bye. I watched a few games.
Game 4: Me VS. Rodolfo (Mono Grass deck)
I can't remember what he started with. All I know is that he had Bulba
on the bench. Well, Scyther, Buzz, and Persian took care of his green
minions with no problems. He didn't draw any prizes. I took a look at
his deck afterward. It looked like he threw together all his green
jungle cards.
Record: 3-1
Well, it turned out that both Erin AND Tam also had 3-1!! Tam had to go,
so we agreed to split the prize. We each got our pick of either 1 jungle
or 1 original booster. I chose jungle, and got non-holo Clefable. Erin
got holo-Scyther. Gr! Tam left before I could find out what he got. All
in all, a fun day. Now, for the deck I used, it's a wierd Haymaker
variant with Persian, Scyther, Buzz, and Mime.
