Your Butt is Grass v1.2

Hi.  My first time posting something here.  As Gym Leader at New Dimension
Comics (Hi, Justin), it's quite easy to take down the smaller kids.  But
once in a while you get a player who actually knows how to play the game.
Aside from a certain Psychic player who toots his own horn left and right,
the real players have decks that are big and flashy (ie: "look at my deck
with four Charizards and 10 fire energy") and decks that try to do eight
different stratedies at once.  They're not to hard to take down but once in
a while you let your guard down and they KO your Venusaur.  The trick is to
keep them guessing, rolling through your deck and before they figure out
what's happening, boom!  You've already won.

Bulbasaur x3
Nidoran Female x3
Nidoran Male x 3
Pinsir
Ivysaur x2
Nidorina x2
Nidorino x2
Nidoking
Nidoqueen
Venusaur x2
Kangaskhan
Bill x4
Energy Removal x4
Full Heal
Gust of Wind
Potion x4
Professor Oak x4
Double Colorless Energy x2
Grass Energy x19

This deck has served me well with a small variety of strategies.  Heavy
energy guarantees that you'll never eat it from lack.  11 basic provide a
full bench, as well as Nidoran F's Call For Family.  Bill, Prof. Oak, and
Kangaskhan provide quick draw.  ERs to stall him out.  Venusaur, Pinsir,
King and Queen have the one-hit KO attacks.  Potential problems arise from
decking yourself, as well as a large portion of your Pokemon are weak
against psychic.  High energy for retreating and quick draws can keep one
Pokemon from being KO'd by spreading the damage, and careful conservation
and quick playing prevent decking.

As for today's fun:

Round 1:  TJ with Mono Water
Quick and easy, took out his Poliwag.  Heavy drawing let me ready bench
against his Articuno, and Energy Removals stalled it long enough for me to
ready my Venusaur.  Solar Beam finished it off, with me nailing all of his
and him nailing none of mine.
1-0

Round 2:  TJ's Brother Sean.  Another Mono water
Even easier.  He had one out on the bench and, by third turn, I had a full
bench.  Quick KO with none on bench.
2-0

Round 3:  Matt with psychic
This is where it gets hard.  I've played this kid before, and he's, in my
opinion, the best there is at the store.  He has a reputation for filling
his bench and juggling Pokemon.  Last few times I played him I came very
close to decking myself, and one time actually did.  This time was no
different.  Took a more conservative draw strategy, saving some Bills
instead of immediately playing them as I usually do (never a good idea, as I
found out).  His first three hand draws had no basic, so I mulliganed twice,
saving some of my deck for later.  His Mr. Mime threw me for a loop,
negating my Kangaskhan's Comet Punch a few time.  Had to use a Bulbasaur to
slip in 20 now and then.  Knocked out my Venusaur and Pinsir.  Finally
finished off his Gastly with a Nidorino.
3-0

At this point, things were getting nuts at the counter.  That was the end of
my fun for the day.  Did ask one last player to play me, but I think he was
too scared.  hmm.

Cool Cards:

Kangaskhan:  The best card in the game, IMHO.  1 C for Fetch:  Great attack.
Evn if you don't have the CCCC for Comet Punch, just draw it!  Great combo
with Bill.  Comet Punch's coin tosses are risky, but with some good luck you
can nail your foe with 80 colorless damage.  A psychic resistance is a must
for this deck.

Venusaur:  Great card.  GGGG Solarbeam is great for straight damage.  Energy
Trans can move your Energy cards from a de-evolved pokemon with too much
energy to one with not enough.  100 HP gives it great staying power.

Props:
To Matt for lasting more then 10 turns.

Slops:
These are always mean, so I refrain.
