I went to my first tournment on Sat. April 15
( You dont see that much anymore )
with my good friend Zach.
The store is called “The Zone”
It is located in Red Wing Minnesota.
Their were 10 people there.
The rules of the tournment are everybody played everybody else once.
The winner got first dibs on rares.


Well here is my deck; Psychic Blast

Psychic  Blast

3 Fossil Gastly  (Paralis is a nasty first turn side effect)
1 Fossil Haunter ( I luv transparency)
2 Gengar ( Curse and Dark mind are great for killing Muk and Aerodactyl)

3 Abra ( Yuk. Good side effect though. )
1 Kadabra  ( Super psy is great!! )
3 Alakazam  ( The best pokemon power their is for tight situations. )
3 Chansey  ( Alakazams best friend. )
2 Mr. Mime  ( Heave hitters beware. )
1 Nintendo Power Mewtwo  ( Kill those stupid colorless pokemon that
threat psychic
decks)

Energy:

18 Psy. energy
4 Double colorless

Trainers

2 Com. search  ( Get that Chansey or Kazam out faster. )
4 Super energy removal ( No Mr. Mime to take out the heavy hitters, stun
them for a few
turns )
4 Scoop up Teamed with Alakazam, and Chansey, INVINISIBLE!!
4 Pokemon Breeder  ( For the big ones to get bigger faster. )
3 Imposter Pro. Oak  ( Looks like they got the cards they want, not any
more.  Good for
decking ppl when they only have 2 or 3 cards in their hand too )
2 Gusts of Wind  ( gust a weenie out to kill or to kill a pokemon thet
may cause trouble. )

Well their it is.
This deck uses most of the cards that Justin “Top Cat” had in his deck
in the report in
your magizine except for the trainers are mixed around a little.
Good idea Justin :-)

Now on to the report:

Round 1

Psychic Blast  vs.  Chris with mono-grass.
I got a bad hand a got a Chansey, Gengar, 2 Imposters, and 3 Psy Energy.

He put out  a Weedle, and 2 Venonats.
He goes first a puts a grass nrg on weedle and does 10 to Chansey.
He flips heads and I am poisned.
Dang.  I draw a Mime and bench him.
I put an nrg on Mime and say go.
This keeps going on untill he gets a Venasaur and Solarbeams my poisned
Mewtwo for
the faint.

Round 2

Psychic Blast vs. Matt with water.
I got first.
I get Abra, Breeder, Mr mime and 4 Psy nrg.
I send out Abra and he sends out a Squirtle and benches 2 Poliwag.
I lay a nrg on Abra and do psyshock for 10 and paralis.
He lays an nrg on squirtle and says go.
I lay an nrg Abra and psyshock for another 10 and he is paralized again.

he lays another on squirtle and says go.
I draw and get a Kadabra.
I put an nrg on Abra and evolve.
and Super Psy for the faint.
In the end, I end up winning by killing a benched Blastoise with Mewtwo
for the win
Record 1-1-0

Round 3

Psychic Blast vs. Will with mono-grass.

A little FYI about this kid first.
This kid was 19 and ended up winning the tourny.
He has all the American cards, and alot of the JAPs too
He has a JAP. Fosill Mew and a B-Day Pikachu( reading your article about
B-Day
Pikachu in the April issue i knew it wasn’t worth much but seeing it was
really cool. )
He even has an 1st. Ed. Charizard, and Venasaur.
All his deck was JAP cards.
He started playing when the T.C.G first came out and i was really
nervous.

I get a Gastly, Abra, SER and the rest nrg.
He gets out Vena be turn 4 and wastes my Gastly and Abra.
I SER it but it didnt do much at all.
Record 1-2-0

Round 4
Psychic blast vs. My friend Zach.
I had to hurry up to play the other kids because my deck is slow,
and I can never beat him so I forfeited
Record 1-3-0

Round 5
Psychic Blast vs. ??????? with a goofy Haymaker
I go first.
I get Chansey, Scoop Up, a DCE, and the rest nrg.
I send Chansey out and he sends out a Base Mewtwo???
I pull my Mewtwo and layed a DCE on Chansey and do scrunch for the heck
of it.
He puts a Psy. nrg on Mewtwo and draws a Hitmonchan.
I put a nrg on Mewtwo and scrunched.
TAILS. Dang it all.
The whole time chansey was out there it was all tails.
Eventually he gets his Hitmonchan powered up and retreats Mewtwo.
Hitmonchan killed my Chansey with 2 Special Punches.
I send out Mewtwo and use a SER.
I Telekinesis hitmonchan a few times for the faint and the win.
Record- 2-3-0

Round 6
I got a bye.
Record 3-3-0

Round 7
Psychic Blast vs Seth with Mono-Fighting.
I get an awesome hand.
Mewtwo, Chansey, Scoop Up, Abra, Kazam, Gastly, and a nrg.
I get a Breeder on the next turn .
Dumb luck.
He sends out a Onix and benches a Geodude and a Machop.
I send out my Gastly and do lick for 10 and no paralis.
He goes and puts an nrg on Machop.
I go and put an nrg and evolve Abra into Kazam..
Lick for 10 and paralis.
Very boring game so i will cut to the end.
I win by Dark Minding his Machop for the win.
Record 4-3-0

Round 8
Psychic Blast vs. Tony water.
I hated this kid.
He didnt know what he was doing, and he kept saying I was cheating just
because he didnt
know how to play well.
He had a Blastoise out and didnt know that he can put more than 1 energy
down in 1 turn.
Anyway, I get a Mewtwo, Chansey, and the rest nrg.
He gets 3 Horsea and a Squirtle.
He sends out a Horsea and me a Chansey.
I stall with Chansey ‘till i get my Mewtwo powered up.
I retreat Chansey and send out a Mewtwo.
I killed horsea in 2 turns.
My Mewtwo an Alakazam worked together to kill 2 Horsea, a Seadra,
Blastoise,
and 2 Krabby.
Record 5-3-0

Round 9
Psychic Blast vs  Matt’s little brother ?????? with fire.
We had the same record and whoever lost would get 4th and their was no
prize for forth.
He sends out a Vulpix and benched another vunpix and a charmander.
I get Mr. Mime, Abra, and a Chansey.
I put out Chansey and slap a DCE on and scrunch.
HEADS.
He puts a fire on Vulpix and passes.
I lay an nrg on Mr. Mime and Scrunch.
HEADS.
Later on I win by using Double Edge on his Ninetails.
Record 6-3-0

I get 3rd place and get my pick between Lass, Vaporean, Base Electrode,
and a
Venomoth.
I pick Vaporean, and Electrode.
Dang. But I still had fun and thats the whole point of competition.

Now for the infamous Props and Slops.

Props for me getting 3rd place.
Props for me making a great comeback.
Props to The Zone for the great tournament.
Props to Zach for comeing in fifth.
Props to me for having fun.
