I played this deck at my local Pokémon League at Toys 'R' Us in Levittown,
New York last week.
My Incredibly Annoying Stall has done very well since I created it a few
months ago. I have updated it once more with a few Rocket cards.
Before I
updated it last, I only purchased three Rocket boosters, and only two Rocket
Abra and two Nightly Garbage Runs made it to this deck so far. This report
celebrates one of the last times I use this deck at my league, as the matches
can go longer than an hour when I use this deck. My stall will no longer
be
used competitively at my league (unless I REALLY need a stall), as a faster
deck is needed. I'll still keep this deck together and ready, but it's no
longer my main deck when my Splash! deck is complete and ready for battle.
Incredibly Annoying Stall v. 3.0 (or something like that)
Energy (19)
17 Psychic Energy
2 Double Colorless Energy
Pokémon (17)
Psychic Pokémon:
3 Abra (1 Base, 2 Rocket, I still keep one Base because it has a free retreat)
2 Kadabra (Argh, wish I had more)
2 Alakazam (Without Alakazam this deck is useless. Damage Swap RULES!)
2 Jynx (High HP, good attacks if needed)
2 Mr. Mime (Bwahahahahahaha!!!)
Water Pokémon (Well...)
2 Tentacool (Yep, that's it for Water Pokémon. One reason: Cowardice! Any
damage on it goes away instantly.)
Colorless Pokémon:
4 Chansey (my favorite card! Highest HP, low retreat, Scrunch is good and
Double Edge can get things out of the way. Pokécenter helps these out.)
Trainers (24)
2 Nightly Garbage Run (Surprised it isn't banned yet. Makes sure I
don't
deck, gets everything I need back and ready for Computer Search)
2 Pokémon Trader (Get that recently Cowardiced Tentacool or useless Abra out
of your hand and grab another Chansey!!!)
1 Pokémon Breeder (Just in case...)
2 Impostor Professor Oak (Don't ask why I still use this card)
2 Super Energy Removal (Energy in the discard pile is no problem for Nightly
Garbage Run!!!!)
3 Gust of Wind (Can help stall by taking out a big no energy Pokémon on their
bench, ready for Jynx to kill with Meditate.)
3 Computer Search (Ha! Great card. After Nightly Garbage Run, grab that
Chansey you just shuffled in.)
2 Switch (In case Kadabra or Alakazam are stuck active)
4 Energy Removal (Heh.)
2 Pokémon Center (Damage Swap to someone with no Energy, play this, laugh in
your opponent's face.)
1 Itemfinder (Since Nightly Garbage Run can't get Trainers back, I use this
for Comp. Search.)
Round 1: Against Robert (sigh) with his new Water-type all Rocket deck:
This kid is seriously spoiled, and already had the entire Rocket set and
doubles on the day of this match. His deck had ALL Rocket cards in it
except
for energy, not even a Bill, ER, Oak, or anything else. His deck consisted of
Dark Blastoise and pre-evolved forms, Dark Gyarados, and Dark Dragonite. He
constantly used Dark Dragonair and Dark Dragonite's Powers to fill up his
bench with good evolved forms and others but soon had taken out too many
Pokémon without thinking. I get a great hand: Rocket Abra, Breeder, Alakazam,
Chansey, 2 Psy, and Pokémon Trader. And my first draw is Tentacool!!
After
a few turns of his Magikarp (heh) attacking Chansey, I just swapped the
damage to Tentacool and Cowardiced. I use Trader and get out Mr. Mime, and
put it out against his pumped Dark Blastoise. Eventually he decks from Dark
Dragonair and Dragonite's powers and I win.
Round 2: Against little kid with Psy-Fighting deck (Pretty much a copy of
mine with fighting types in it too)
This kid was a real pain, and put up a fight even though his deck was mostly
weak to mine. This was the first big challenge I had faced. He gets
Hitmonlee, Jynx, Mr. Mime, and Ditto out, and I get 2 Chanseys, later an
Alakazam, and a Mr. Mime. He kills 3 Chansey, a Mime, and an Alakazam, and
I
only killed one Hitmonlee. Finally I'm stuck with Chansey with 100 damage on
it, and he has another Hitmonlee. If I flipped heads on Scrunch, I would
survive one more turn, but I would lose anyway. If I flipped tails, I would
lose instantly and die to High Jump Kick. I get lucky. Then he draws his last
card! Since I Scrunched, he couldn't kill my Chansey his turn, and even if I
got tails my turn, he loses next turn because he can't draw a card. It was a
very close match, but in the end, my Incredibly Annoying Stall prevailed.
Round 3: Against kid with Haymaker
He kept bragging because he had 29 rares in his deck, but my Jynx ate his
Hitmonchan, Scyther, and Buzz for breakfast. I finally sacrifice Chansey
at
the end to KO his last Buzz with Double Edge and win.
Round 4: Against kid with Aero-Mew deck
This was very easy considering I was weak to Mew's Psywave and Devolution
Beam. I used constant Energy Removals to keep his Mew and Jynx with no energy
on them, and when I needed Alakazam, I Gusted out his Aero and Double Edged.
Then I evolve and damage swap to Chansey, and finally Pokécenter. No more
Aeros to worry about, Mew with no energy, and all of my Pokémon fully healed.
Jynx Meditates and kills Mew for the win.
