I forgot something again. I added my e-mail and where I played at.
I ALWAYS
manage to forget something with these tourny reports.
Ok I decided to try out Pokemon League today because I hadn't played in a
couple weeks anywhere. It was at Toys R Us in Akron OH. Here's the
deck,
it's the same as my last report but I switched out the lone Tauros for
another Scyther.
10 Pokes-
4 Electabuzz
3 movie Mewtwo
3 Scyther
32 Trainers-
4 Oak
4 Plus power
3 Bill
3 Computer search
3 GOW
3 Scoop Up
3 Lass
3 Energy removal
2 SER
2 Energy Retrieval
2 Item Finder
18 Energy
8 Psychic
7 Lightning
3 DCE
Ok, the deck was great. I played 3 matches and traded a little.
Here's the
report...
MATCH 1
vs. Psychic and fire deck (movie Mewtwo, Arcanine, Moltres)
His deck was okay, but he hardly knew the rules. After I mulligained he
said
that since I didn't get any basics he could add an extra energy to his
Pokemon. I said no, you can draw up to 2 cards and he drew 2. I drew
my new
seven cards and got a Mewtwo with a couple energy, computer search and Oak.
The normal draw. He started with promo Mewtwo and Growlithe on the bench.
He went and draw to discard 2 psychic energies for NO REASON so he could
absorb them! I said you can't do that so he Oaked and absorbed. I gusted
out
Growlithe because I knew that way he would have a harder time getting
Arcanine out. I Oaked and absorbed. He goes, attaches energy and I
psyburned. He goes, Growlithe does 20 and I psyburned him. He brings
out
Mewtwo and benches mysterious fossil. I go, put down a couple basics just
in
case, and Lassed him. It turns out he had a Oak and some mysterious
fossils
and I got rid of them. I killed off Mewtwo and mysterious fossil to run
him
out of basics.
Record:1-0
MATCH 2
vs. Kid with energy trans (maybe?) deck
I saw him play another kid and saw he had Charizard. I laughed and bashed
Charizard and he said he was good and his deck was powerful. I asked him
how
many of them he had he said 1. I laughed even more. He gave the kid
some
advice he's like: "use 2 colors with 15 of each energy and about 10
trainers" well I thought, easy win. This was after we agreed to play.
He
started with a Caterpie, me with Electabuzz. He strungshot and parylized.
I
went, attached energy to Electabuzz, and said go. He strung shot again
after
putting down another Caterpie and evolving another that was on the bench into
Metapod. He didn't parylize, I attached energy, plus power, thunderpunched
and KO'd Caterpie. He brought out Metapod and evolved to Butterfree.
I had
out Mewtwo then and psyburned. He added energy even though he would be
KO'd
next turn and said my turn. I KO'd Butterfree. He brought out
Caterpie, put
down a couple more basics, and didn't have any energy to attack. I
finished
off his 40HP basics to draw all 6 prizes after about 12 turns of play.
Record: 2-0
MATCH 3
vs. base Zapdos/promo Electabuzz/promo Mewtwo deck
His deck was OK, but his main problem was the horrid promo Electabuzz.
When
you consider the power of base set Electabuzz, he doesn't measure up. He
lightscreened first turn against my Mewtwo. I thought he might bring out
his
own movie Mewtwos so I decided to build up buzz. He goes again, and quick
attacks for 30. I scooped up Mewtwo and brought out buzz. I super
ER'd his
Electabuzz with a energy from Mewtwo before he was scooped. I
thundershocked
with no paralysis. He goes, has no lightning energy and doesn't do
anything.
I went, put another energy on Electabuzz, attached plus power and computer
searched for another. I thunderpunched and ran him out of basics.
Record: 3-0
I figured I would go undefeated, because most of the people there aren't that
good. I managed to trade for 3 Wigglytuff, so I'll use a promo Mewtwo and
Scyther turbo Tuff deck at Pokemon League from now on because it's really fun
to play. I'll definetly play this deck at tournaments, possibly after I
refine the Wigglydeck a little I will play it in a tourny.
PROPS and SLOPS
PROPS to Toys R Us for having Pokemon League
PROPS to the 3 different people who traded 3 Wigglytuffs to me
PROPS to SCOTT! Yeah, he rules. He invented this deck and he is IMO
the
smartest, most imaginative, and best deck builder in Pokemon right now.
SLOPS to Toys R Us, I wish they would organize a tournament. Even if they
didn't give prizes, it would be nice to have it more organized.
SLOPS to all the people who give stupid advice to the little kids. No
wonder
everybody's deck stinks.
That's all for now, I will probably go to Pokemon League again this weekend
or (hopefully) a tournament. Look for the tourny report!
