Saturday, August 5th   Gym Heroes Pre-Release Tourny
about 32 participants    Swiss Style Tourny

I have been waiting a LONG time for this tourny. I got there at 2:00 and it
started at 4:30. There was a 10 dollar entry fee.(you get store cred. for
winning) most of my friends at the store were there. I was expecting much
competition. The style of the tourny was Swiss which  ment that this tourny
had 5 rounds and then the Top 8 have 3 single elimination rounds. in my packs
were brocks golem (rare) and Lt. Surge's Fearow (holo). Heres a list of my
Deck after they handed 2 Gym Heroes packs:

For each of your pokémon, you may return any number of energy cards attached
to it to your hand.

they gave us thirty minutes to put the gym cards in our decks (no japaneese
gym may be used) then they paired all of us up for the first round.

FIRST ROUND:  Gym Leader Sponge VRS Fossil Moltres/ Dark Vileplume

I started with electabuzz and energy and he sent out magmar(fossil) and
benched oddish. I got to go first and i drew scyther and T Schocked. He drew
and smoke screened. I got a switch and use it later on he laid down more
magmars and he KO'ed some of my pokemon and got DRK vileplume out(crud) but
later i got lickitung and KO'ed most of his and he sent out Moltres i kept on
using lickitung and he had 6 fire on moltres and had 5 damage and it was my
turn with 6 cards in my deck left so i used tounge wrap and fliped...a heads!
i won that grueling round.

I checked on my friends..most of them won.

SECOND ROUND: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Marco (Moviepmo Pikachu/hitmnchan)
I started with electabuzz and energy and he had Movie Promo Pikachu. I won
the flip and benched mewtwo and thunder shocked for tails. he attached and
energy and romovaled my electric energy but he forgot to recharge. I attached
another energy to buzz and i used energy removal. and T shocked fore another
tails. he used prof oak and benched 2 hitmonchans and a buzz and put a energy
on pikachu and recharged. I got a energy and kept on punching then he send
out chan and KO'ed buzz but then i sent out fully powered mewtwo and
psyburned twice for the win.

Almost all of my friends won again

THIRD ROUND: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Eevee/Buzz
I started with buzz and he had Rocket eevee he attached a double colorless
and sand attacked and energy removaled for the next couple of rounds.i used
an oak and benched a couple of pokemon. i finnally powerd up scyther and
slashed all of his pokemon and then he sent out eevee. i slashed and he
evolved into dark flareon and uned rage to knock him out but i sent out Buzz
and punched for the win.

My friend eric lost his battle but derrick and patrick won.

FOURTH ROUND: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Hasson's Sponge
Me and hasson always have tough battles because we always have bad hands! but
this time it was different we both had scyther and mewtwo but i went second
and he put an energy on scyther and passed and i played lickitung and
retreated scyther and put a energy on him and tounge wraped and got tails. he
drew and put 4 pluspowers(wow) on scyther and oaked and put down some pokemon
and he laid DCE on scyther and slashed for 70. I drew and scooped up
lickitung(hehe) and sent out mewtwo and absorbed and then psyburned my way to
a win.

This gave me automatic entry to the top 8 Yeah! eric one but he had one last
chance to get to the top 8.

FIFTH ROUND: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Jamie (didn't know what type of deck he
had)
He was 4-0 and i was too. it was going to be a tough battle until the judge
said we could tie in..but jaime didnt want to but i did so we made a deal i
gave him a dollar and we tied in.
4-0-1
I checked up on my friends, eric lost (boo) and derrick won to get to the top
seed.

SWISS TOP 8 First Round: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Justin (Clefable)
UGH!! I hate Clefable!!! luckily i held off him by gusting out clefairy and
thunder punched but later on he got him out and puched and slashed
everybody...if he got a plus power i would loose but he didnt and i drew an
oak and used it and energy removaled him and got onother Buzz powered up and
i ran him out of energy and won the match.

My friend jamie lost against Chris because of moltres patrick lost ( i think)
and derrick and Sarah(erics sister) won

SWISS TOP 4: Gym Leader Sponge VRS Chris (moltres/ Fossil magmar)
This was a long battle. we started of strong but then went back and forth but
then near the end he powered up marmar and moltres and magmar stalled and
when i beat it he used wildfire and won the match. this was a good game
because it was the first time i had played him in a LONG time.

SWISS TOP 2: Derrick and Chris
Since thier cousins they rolled for the win.

Prizes 4 more gym heroes boosters and $20 Store credit.
in the 4 more gym boosters were holo Rocket's Scyther(YES!) holo Rocket's
Moltres and non holo Lt. Surge's Raichu and non holo misty's goldeen (This is
a rare!! it has 30 hp, it stinks!)
