"Toys and Toise"(pure water!)

Prerelease Tournament on August 5th
    About 24 people were there

Well i had never been to a tournament before and this was my first one!
I was pretty nervous. I went with my two younger brothers and two
friends. I had JUST finished making up this deck about 45 minutes before
we even went in! i had NO idea how it was going to work out! well here
it is...(yes i know what it is a pretty basic raindance deck;)

Well I was allowed to play up to thirteen rounds but i did not sadly. i
played 9 round and i will just list the ones that i played against
people that were a challenge(not little kids that wanted to use their
new gym cards... oh yes they were their too;) ok here weo go...

Round one VS. gym leader w/ "angry wiggly deck"
i started out with a nice hand- 3 water, 2 squirtle, 1 oak, 1 articuno!
i sent out the squirtle and put the other two on my bench. Yes i had a
good hand... he had a better one though! he put down a hitmonchan as
active and 2 jiggly's as bench along w/ fossil magmar! he got to go
first too! this was not looking pretty! he stuck an energy under ol'
chan and 20'd my squirtle! i put a energy under articuno and passed. he
attached a DCE to jiggly then Slam! i of course said no! put he picked
two more basics anyway! a fossil magmar and another hitmonchan! he then
oaked! got a WHOLE bunch of stuff and then killed the squirtle! my turn.
i picked up another energy so i stuck it down under the articuno(i put
the squirtle out as active) then oaked... i got two breeders 3 MORE
energy a Rocket sneak and "the BIG BIG egg!" i put CHUNSEEEEE on my
bench then passed! he evolved the jiggly(HUUUMMMM.... didn't see THAT
one coming;) and switched the hitmon... w/ the BIG balloon and waved at
my squirtle for 60! i then stuck out ol' CHUN... and i picked a
blastoise(too little too late;( and stuck another energy under arty! his
turn... he waved again for 60! i stuck another energy(that was what i
drew) under arty. his turn.... this could go on forever but to wrap it
up he killed ALL my pokemon w/ big wiggly! 1 LOSS!

Round two VS. same guy and same deck
this was a GREAT game but it was a typical deck... to wrap it all up in
a short sentence... i decked myself because i stalled FOREVER w/ big egg
and scrunch... the reason i lost is because in the beginning i had to
oak getting rid of a dark blastoise and the regular toise(BOTH) were in
my prizes! i did get the other one into play BUT he got killed by a
wiggly w/ a pluspower! 2 LOSSES!!

Round 3 Vs. guy that won first place in the tournament-he had a basic
haymaker

I started out w/ every raindancers DREAM! two squirtles(one rocket) a
breeder, an oak, an articuno, and two water energy! i stuck down the
articuno as active and the tiny turtles as my bench He got to go first!
he had a fossil magmar and hitmonchan. Luckily he put the hitmonchan as
active. he put an energy under the hitmon chan then passed... i was SOOO
hoping that this next card was a Blastoise.... what do you know... IT
WAS! so i immediatly passed to see what he would do.. he did some weird
trainer stuff(like Slam! and comp search) but he did not do anything
worth noting! i evolved thrust energy under the arty then oaked. i got
ANOTHER breeder and a dark blasoise along w/ a rocket sneak attack and 4
energy! i breedered again and put the four energy under the dark toise!
i retreated the arty then kill the hitmonchan. he put out the fossil
magamar and put another hitmon on the bench. to wrap it up... i 140'd
the magmar then killed the hitmon and he had no basics after that...
1 WIN!!!

-round 4 against a kid w/ a weird deck w/ dragons!

I do not remember much of it but i CREMED him into the dirt because i
got a dark toise w/ a DCE and water energy by turn two and all he had
was charmanders and magikarps and dratini! well to wrap this one up... i
killed the puny pokes RIGHT away but he REALLY scared me when he had a
charmander and a dratini out BOTH w/ one DCE each... HE USED A
BREEDER!!!! i was worried that he would put a charizard out but NOPE! he
got a dragonite! now the dark toise was the only thing that i had out so
he stepped in and slammed me! i was SOO lucky because if he had gotten
two head we would have won but... how many times does that actually
happen;) i then oaked got all THREE plus powers(how may times does THAT
happen;) and hydro cannoned him for 100 damage to claim the last prize.
2 WINS!!

round 5 vs my friend w/ a grass deck w/ venusaur and nidoking(NOTE: up
till now he was undefeated)

my deck was doing SOOO well that i was not afraid of his "undeafeated
deck"! again this was a SUPER quick game because i got a third turn base
toise and a fifth turn fully charged arty! to end it.. arty killed
EVERYTHING on the board to win it!
3 WINS!!!

well that is all that i have time for... i BLITZED through some smaller
kids decks and their decks consisted of things like BLaine's
moltres...etc.

PROPS AND SLOPS

Props: to the store for arranging everything so smoothly, to Pojo for
advertising the event, for Wizards for making up this GREAT day! For me
for getting 6th place and getting a holo Misty and a HOLO Erika's
dragonair!!

Slops: for wizards for having such an AWFUL way of scoring(i had the
best percentage there but the kids that finished all 13 game won because
ever win was 2 points and every loss was one point... whoever got the
most points won >( and to the STUPID little kids that had Mr. Mimes in
their decks and they stalled FOREVER forcing me NOT to finish all 13
rounds!
