Hey Pojo and Pojo-Holics!
My names Drayner and this is my first deck report!
Look out for more deck reports and articles by me!
Let's get to the piont! Here's the deck! Drum roll
please! Please welcome my deck to the stage! (Cue
applause!)
Primitive Dream:
Pokemon:
3 Mew
3 Aerodactyl
3 Hitmonchan
1 Ditto
2 Mr. Mime
2 Movie Mewtwo
Energys:
12 Psychic Energy
12 Fighting Energy
Trainers:
2 Professer Oak
2 Bill
4 Super Energy Removal
3 Gust of Wind
2 Scoop Up
2 Switch
1 Computer Search
1 Kurumi
1 Confusion Gym
Translations:
Kurumi: Draw 2 cards, then shuffle two cards from your
hand into your deck.
Confusion Gym: If eather player wishes to use a
trainer card, flip a coin. If heads carry on as
normal. If tails your opponent may use it. If it is
a card you put into play (eg. Clefairy doll) or a card
witch attaches itself to a Pokemon (eg. Defender) no
one may use it.
I call my deck Primitive Dream. The aim of the dek is
not to let your opponent evolve and to kill his weak,
basic pokemon with powerful attacks like Psyburn and
Special Punch.
I often get asked where the name came from. It is the
Vending Omanyte's Pokemon Power.
On Sunday, 9th August I went to a tournement at
Vantage Infosystems, Southsea, England. There was
about 14 people there and me and seven others joined
in a tournement. I forgot to take my notebook, so
I'll have to use my memory! Gulp!
Match 1: Me with 'Primitive Dream' (Psychic, Fighting)
vs Russel with 'Forest Fire' (Electric, Fire, Grass)
The first match was very interesting. Russel got an
early lead, but I fought back. I had an amazing
comeback and won. The second match was a win for me.
There's nothing which stick in my mind about that
match.
Record: 1-0
Match 2: Me with 'Primitive Dream' (Psychic, Fighting)
vs Akash with 'Haymaker' (Electric, Fighting, Grass)
Haymakers. I hate them. They require absolutly no
strategy at all. My Deck is awful against them. I
lost both matches. Ugh!
Record: 1-1
Match 3: Me with 'Primitive Dream' (Psychic, Fighting)
vs Kieren with 'Power Reserve' (Grass, Electric)
Yes, it was 'Power Reserve' the Theme Deck! I taught
him how to play the day before. He bought the deck
especially to play in the tourney. I offered him my
Raindance to use, but he declined! I caned him the
first match, but in the second one he beat me! I
started with Mew active an he started with Nidoran
Female. He Fury Swiped twice for the win. The third
match was actually quite hard, but I managed to beat
him! Do not under-estimate the power of the Theme
Decks!
Record:2-1
Match 4: Me with 'Primitive Dream' vs Ivan with
Psychic deck
The first match was pretty boring, I won. The second
match was quite funny! We both had Mr.Mime's active
and we couldn't hurt each other! I still won!
Record: 3-1
The tornement was over and the pionts were calculated.
Akash won with 4 points (he won all his matches) and
I came second with 3 points! Stick around for some
strategy!
Primitive Tactics!
I: Raindance
Get Aerodactyl out as soon as possible. If they've
already evolved, de-evolve them and kill the weak
basics. If you encounter a Lapras use anyone except
Mr.Mime. If you encounter a Articuno use Mr.Mime.
II: Haymaker
Don't bother with the Aero/Mew stratagy, just do as
well as you can with your strong basics.
Hitmoncan v Electabuzz
Mewtwo v Hitmonchan
Mr.Mime v Scyther
III: Mono-Psychic
The deck is v.weak to psychic so if you feel like
stalling use Mr.Mime. Double the damage and prevent
it. Mewtwo can kill most things in one hit.
IV: Mono-Electric
Easy Hitmonchan can take most things out in one hit,
but beware of Zapdos and his resistance. If he
appears send out Mr.Mime and kill him!
V: Mono-Fire
Use Mr.Mime to stall against the big-boys (Charizard,
Arcanine, Ninetales...) and our own powerhouses to
beat their basics.
VI: Mono-Grass
Not to hard. Don't let them evolve and kill their
basics! Remember some Grass (Poison) is weak to
Psychic.
VII: Mono-Fighting
Easy! Mewtwo all the way!
IX: Colourless
Resistance to Psychic, weakness to fighting. Keep
this in mind!
And so concludes my report keep on the look out for
more of my deck-reports and articles! If you have any
comments on my deck or you need help with yours I'll
be more than happy to reply! Thanks for reading and
Good-Night!
