About 15 contestants
First off, I would like to thank the Gym Heroes Expansion
since it rocks!
Even though this deck only has Erika's Dratini/Dragonair evolution plus
Misty's Duel, Gym Heroes helped out a lot!

The trainers might be a little odd but they work despite that my best ones
are in my Neo Erika deck. Although a Professor Oak would be good…
Round 1 vs. Girl with Grass/Water Deck
I don't know what her name is exactly but she was about eight or nine. I won
the coin flip and started with Psyduck as my active and Dratini as bench. She
started with Blaine's Tauros and Scyther, Nidoran F and Seel on the bench.
Her dad was there to help her out since she didn't know what some cards do
and Gym Heroes. I attached energy to Psyduck and used Fury Swipes. Ten
damage. She energized B's Tauros and used 3-Pronged Tail. Twenty Damage. I
drew for my turn and got Erika's Dratini. I benched it and attached energy to
E's Dratini. Then I used Energy Removal on Tauros. Psyduck used Fury Swipes
again and did another ten damage. She drew and benched another Seel, evolved
the other Seel into Dewgong and attached energy to Tauros. Used 3-Pronged
Tail again and did ten damage. I energized Dratini and did Fury Swipes for
another ten damage. Thinking that Psyduck is going to kill Tauros, she
attached a DCE and used Full Speed Charge, a double-edged sword attack. She
got two heads and two tails so Psyduck and Tauros both got knocked out. Then
it was Erika's Dratini vs. Dewgong. Unfortunately for her, she ran out of
water energies. (The Scyther only can do ten damage due to Erika's Dratini's
Pokémon Power) I kept on using Tail Strike and K.O.ed both Dewgongs. (She
evolved the other one) By the time I won, her bench was powerful, with two
Scythers, Nidoran F, and Lapras. I wonder how many water energies does she
have in her deck?
1-0
Round 2 vs. Alex (I think that's his name) with Water plus something else Deck
I won the coin flip again and started with Psyduck vs. Misty's Tentacool. It
was by pure luck that I got both of my ER in my opening hand. I attached
energy to Psyduck and used Fury Swipes. On Alex's turn, he couldn't do
anything except for attaching energy to Misty's Tentacool. I drew and benched
Dratini, used ER and Fury Swiped again. Alex attached another energy to
Tentacool and ended his turn. I used ER on him again and he asked how many of
these things I have in my deck. Psyduck used Fury Swipes again and by that
time, Tentacool was knocked out and Alex ran out of basics.
2-0
Round 3 vs. Rob with Water/Colorless Hyperbeam Headache Deck
I sent out Dratini and attached a DCE. Used Wrap and got
tails. Rob has
only one Pokémon and it is Poliwag. He attached energy and used Water Gun for
ten. I attached a Psychic Energy to Dratini, used The Boss's Way for Dark
Dragonair and evolved it. I got a heads on Tail Strike and won the game.
Note: Rob won the Gym Heroes Prerelease tournament last week with the same
deck. He got ten GH booster packs.
3-0
Round 4 vs. Rob (Again)
Rob demanded a rematch since he never lost against me before.
This time,
he got a Poliwrath out by his third turn (two water and one DCE) and
eliminated all of my Pokémons with Whirlpool.
3-1
Round 5 vs. Kid with Misty's Deck (He just bought it and never made any
changes to it)
This kid was totally overconfident. He boasted that he could
beat
everybody with his pre-constructed deck. I got ticked off and challenged him.
He won the coin flip and started with Misty's Tentacool and Misty's Psyduck
on the bench. Attached energy to Tentacool and said go. I drew and psychic
energized Kirinriki. Then I ER'ed Tentacool. His turn. He attached another
energy to Tentacool and ended his turn. I drew and energized Kirinriki and
used Psybeam. It was successful and his Tentacool was confused. He energized
Tentacool again and used Potion. I expected him to try to attack but no, he
evolved Tentacool into Misty's Tentacruel. He couldn't do anything and said
go. I drew and used Psybeam again. Successful again! He retreated Tentacruel
(successful coin flip) and energized and used Psyduck with Scratch. I gusted
out Tentacruel and kept on using Psybeam. He never managed to retreat
Tentacruel again and attacked once (The coin flip didn't work). Tentacruel
was out in three turns and he sent out Psyduck and Scratched. Kirinriki had
fifty damages on it so I decided to retreat it for Erika's Dragonair. (During
all this while, I've been powering up my bench with Dark Alakazam, Dark
Dragonite, Dark Golduck and Erika's Dragonair) With two successful coin flips
(none for him), I beat Psyduck into a pulp with Dragonair's Blizzard and won
the game.
4-1
Between Matches
I told the Kid I just fought about his confidence. I told him that never to
be overconfident or he's going to end up losing all of his matches. (I was
overconfident once and lost five times in a row) I guess he already got
crushed when I beat him.
About that time, the store was beginning to thin out.
Round 6 vs. Jake with Haymaker Deck (Electabuzz/Hitmonchan)
I won the coin again (must be on my winning streak) and
mulliganed twice
(Okay, maybe not exactly on my 'winning streak'). I finally got Dratini and
Psyduck in my third hand and I decided to risk it with Psyduck as active vs.
Electabuzz. I used Imposter Oak's Revenge immediately and Jake sighed. I saw
his hand was full of Lightning Energies and a couple of Plus Powers. (The
table has been turned!) I energized Psyduck and did ten damage. Jake drew and
benched Lt. Surge's Pikachu and Hitmonchan. He attached Fighting Energy to
Electabuzz and said go. I used Energy Removal and energized Psyduck again.
Did twenty damage with Fury Swipes. Jake used a Professor Oak or something
because he benched another Hitmonchan, Lt. Surge's Pikachu and a Brock's Onix
(common version). Then he energized Electabuzz with another Fighting Energy.
I evolved Psyduck into Golduck and energized again and used Hyperbeam. Jake
saw this and started to energy Hitmonchan, letting Electabuzz to be a
punching bag. I drew and benched Erika's Dratini and used ER on Hitmonchan
(He yelled 'darn!'). Another Hyperbeam and I drew a prize. Jake sent out
Brock's Onix and used Bellow successfully. I used Switch and Erika's Dratini
was out, fully powered and Erika's Dragonair in my hand just in case. I used
Tail Strike a couple times and Onix was out. Then Lt. Surge's Pikachu fainted
vs. my Golduck and I won again.
5-1
Between Matches:
I went over to the counter and bought two GH boosters. I got a holo-Lt.
Surge's Fearow and non-holo Erika's Victreebel.
Round 7 vs. Teenaged Kid with Fire/Water Deck
He won the coin flip and started with Blaine's Magmar. He got
two heads
on Magmar's Firebreathing and did 40 damage in two turns. I wasn't successful
with Kirinriki's Psybeam and I didn't have any benched Pokémon. On his third
turn, he used Blaine's Magmar's Lava Burst and did 40 damage, knocking out
Kirinriki. He won because I ran out of basics.
5-2
It was about time for my dad to pick me up.
