- Hey all you pojo lovers! i'm reporting from
the Pre-Release Gym Hero's tournament, you have no idea how much trouble i
went through putting this deck together, i had a little less then 2 days to
think about a new deck idea and all of a sudden after reading threw the Jap.
Translations of the Gym 1 Jap. cards i found something perfect, something
that would take out those REALLY annoying electabuzz and wigglytuff's and
deal with fighting resistance at the same time! the answer to all this you
might ask? well its Brock's Sandslash! sure two energy seem like allot to be
using for a 10 damage attack but poison paralyze with heads and next turn 20
with smokescreen and poison = big @#$@! damage, and best of all if you
really need to you can stall by flipping heads again with needles and the
basic pokemon has been really improved since base, 2 energy and the person
cant retreat = Haymaker stopper because haymaker's don't use switch i use
that to the advantage of the deck but with scythers on the loose you gotta
keep them contained so that's why i got fossil magmar added in for the
smokescreen/smog, hitmonchans to use for a first turn 20 damage and
lickitoung for those pesky movie promo mewtwo's..well that's it for deck
describing onto the pokemon count!

- I never knew the power of this deck untill i started
playing with it for a day with proxy's against brian and andrew, man did i
have to start trading the day of the pre-release to get those sandshrew/sandslash
lucky me 1 guy had 2 of each so i traded off a holo jolteon ^_^ yay me...but
one thing with out the gym's to kill the fighting weakness with a few decks
i would be history! =( , now onto the battles
-
- First Match vs Tim (venusaur/charizard)
- ok tim is a bit inexperiance at the game and i was
luck enough to get out 2 'chans and a sandshrew vs. his bublasaur charmander
and growlith, the rest of my hand was a oak , 3 energy's,and a gust,
attached to chan, gust in his charmander 20, his turn no energy my turn i
attached to chan again k.o'ed drew my prize, a bill, his turn placed a fire
energy on growlith and passed, my turn used the bill to get a magmar and
fighting energy placed down the magmar and attached another to chan, oaked
and got a hand full of energy (3 fire 2 fighting 1 dce) 40 to growlith, his
turn evolves to *gasp!!* promo arcanine! attached a fire and flams of raged
me for 80 >_< chan was fried pulled out magmar and smokescreened, his
turn he attaches a dce and flips tails, my turn, drew a sandslash evolved,
attach another fire to magmar 20 and he was knocked out leaving a energyless
bublasaur at my mercy. needless to say he gave up,
- 1-0
-
- Second Match vs. Andrew R (Base Arcanine/dudrio)
- ugh this is a deck everyone fears including
blastois!, i had out a chan and sandshrew and he had out a doduo, basicly
this was my reaction !#$%@& his turn, he oaks and gets a growlith out on
bench, (only time he ever plays a growlith is when he has arcanine and allot
of energy in hand) he attached to growlith and passed, my turn i put down
pewter gym and attach to sandshrew, passed, he attaches another fire energy
to growlith and passes my turn i draw the worst...Lass..with no trainers
besides that in hand i used it, in his hand was 4 fire energys 2 dce and a
arcanine (eeeeeeeeek!) i attach to sandshrew his turn he attaches dce to
growlith evolves retreats for free and does take down (Later chan!) my turn
sandshrew vs Fully Pumped Arcanine with me having no bench..>__<
- 1-1
-
- Third Match vs Alex (Classic
haymaker/scyther,mewtwo,chan)
- we both only had chans to start we flip, he goes
first, puts down a scyther and retreats chan with a dce, my turn drew a
sandshrew and attached to him, alex's turn, he puts down a dce and passes my
turn i attach another to sandshrew and pass, his turn he attachs a psi
energy to scyther and gow's my sandshrew and k.o's it, and basicly i was
pokemon screwed for the next 2 turns which resulted in alex getting the K.O
thanks to plus powers
- 1-2
-
- Last Match (worth reporting) Vs. Brian (Dark
Charizard/Moltres)
- first off prop's to brian for making a real orginal
deck, verry weird though i might add but it works, i won the flip and
started with magmar with no energy he brought out a magmar with 2
charmanders on bench and smokescreened, i drew and tryed to smokescreen
threw his smokescreen (weird aint it?) but i got tails next card i drew was
a lass which i didn't need..used it thought and got rid of 2 breeders a
scoop up and a pokemon center (bad bad combo's going there)he attached and
smoged with poison, smoke screened and took 10 for poison, his turn he flips
heads with smog and wins(same we always ALWAYS have Long LONG matches
between 20 min. to a hour at some points)
- 1-3
-
- At League the deck did wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better then
in the pre-release tourniment, which ended up with andrew r. winning it all
(amazingly beat 2 blastoise decks)
-
- Final Record for the day 24-12 so the deck faired
pretty well
-
- Prop's
- To my boy andrew who walked away with alot of packs
- Brian to his deck and his sometimes 3 min. turns of
thinking (he should play chess =) )
- to all my boys (cept me) who won packs
- Slop's
- To all them blastois and haymaker's out there (cant
people think of a original deck? and dont say a classic heymaker with Mr.
Mime is original, i'll beat you with my hard case deck holder)
-
- Hopefull you people feel inlightend to my deck and
create your own original deck! =) good luck and dont forget! "gotta
collect them all!" heh
