final standings)

Well, it's been about 2 months since I had posted anything about
tourneys I have been to. I am a little
Disgruntled because I have not been registered on the DCI and I have
played and done well with my DCI
many times.  I wanted to go to the STS very badly.  I was even offered a
ride but I had to turn it
down because of my parents.  My dad then graciously offered to take me
on Friday and he said to be
ready by 1am Saturday to leave to play.

HayWiggly vProp 15/3c

1 Electabuzz
3 Scyther
2 Chansey
3 Hitmonchan
3 Rocket Zapdos
3 Jigglypuff
3 Wigglytuff
2 Ditto
3 Professor Oak
1 No Removal Gym
1 Switch
2 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
1 Misty's Wrath
1 Scoop Up
2 Gust of Wind
2 PlusPower
9 Fighting Energy
12 Electric Energy
3 Double Colorless Energy
2 Full Heal energy

This deck got a major overhaul for Prop 15 since only 15 trainers were
allowed.  After a tedious 10 hours
we finally got to New Jersey, but it was around 7am and we still had 3
hours to get to Secaucus.  My
dad, who I knew was tired, finally drove onto the NJ Turnpike and down
that long stretch of the
Turnpike.  After looking at a map I declared we take exit 16e and I was
correct.  5 minutes after exiting
the turnpike I had my stuff and I entered the complex with 30 minutes to
spare.  I first went and registered
for the tournament, getting the free STS shirt.  I never got to right my
DCI number down, because the lady
was in a rush, I hope they somehow find my name on the DCI and give me
my points anyways.
My dad also told me there were tons of cars that were from North
Carolina.  I went around finding MT
Pat and DMT Mike.  I also found a few pojo staff and some friends I met
on the Internet.  After I did all
of that the tournament started when the very first Round 1 pairings went
up.

Round 1 Vs I forget (Hay)
We both had haymakers.  This game was mine after a few turns.  He had
out like a Scyther and a few
hitmonchans vs. my rocket zapdos, chansey, and jigglypuff.  I got out a
Turn 3 wigglytuff and just wiped
through his pokémon.  This was only one of the two easiest games I
played here.

Round 2 Vs I forgot his name too (another haymaker)
He started out with an almost full bench and I had started out with a
Scyther and 2 rocket zapdos.  He had
a major energy drought, while I had a bunch of powered up pokémon and I
just went through all his
pokémon.  He was only able to knock out one pokémon, which was a
Scyther.  This game only took
minutes.  My last easy game played.

I had eaten since 1am when we left. My dad got me a big pretzel and a
drink to keep me going.  My dad
couldn't believe I did so well without much food in my stomach.  I just
told him it was the luck my friends
gave me the day before we left.

Round 3 Vs ??? with a haymaker deck
We both had out dittos and wigglys in the end.  I just was able to keep
the damage off of me enough to
kill off his pokémon and I was able to sweep away with the win.

Round 4 Vs James Obrien (rocket zapdos, chansey deck)
This guy had a interesting haircut =).  We were both good players with
the almost exact same deck.  Near
the end he played chaos gym and he messed himself with trainers.  He was
having an energy drought. I
had a full and powered up bench. At the end I flipped 2 lucky heads to
gust of wind his wigglytuff and kill it with my ditto.  I said Gust of
Wind wigglytuff and dtw KO.  I cleaned up my cards and he didn't ever
move the
Wigglytuff out.  He knew that I beat him fair and square but he tried to
cheat and say I just cleaned up my
cards.  He kept trying to play dumb but the official said that he
should've known if I had a full bench or not
that was able to kill his wigglytuff.  The judge awarded me the points
for the win.  I was the only one able
to beat this guy, until Rudy showed him how to really play in the
finals.
4-0 12 points

Round 5 vs. Rudy Rodriguez (a mirror deck of mine)
He easily beat me, I mainly had an energy doubt and he just wiped
through all my pokémon.  He won
that game.   You can tell I have not much to say about this game. ;-)

Round 6 vs. Austin Bradyhouse
This was the best game I played during the whole tournament!  We both
had the same pokémon out
mostly at the same time.  His fighting pokémon went down easily as well
as his hitmonlees.  I lost mine the
next turn after I took his out.  At the end when it was down to the last
prize and I had computer searched,
which let me remember what I had in my deck, I was able to win.  He sent
out a Hitmonlee, which he
shouldn't have done, and killed off my ditto.  I sent out a wigglytuff
and I played Misty's Wrath to get all the rest of my deck.  I was able
to play the energy on wigglytuff and play a Hitmonchan to fill my bench
for the win.
5-1 15 points
At this time I went to go find the Neo: genesis display.  As soon as I
got back the pairings were up.

Round 7 vs. Timothy Patrick with a haymaker
I had a terrible hand with all 3 of my rocket zapdos in play.  It took
too long to get oaks or a misty's wrath
and so I went down to him.  He thought I would've won with the zapdos'.
I just couldn't keep up and I
ended up losing to him too fast.
5-2 15 points

Round 8 vs. Michael Zawadzki (one of the many haymakers)
He had only 2 pokémon when I had 3- rocket zapdos, ditto, and Scyther.
His Scyther and Electabuzz
were always the only ones out. I got the zapdos fully powered and
electroburned his helpless scyther out
for the quick 5-minute win.

6-2 FINAL Record 18 points 130 resistance
If I had won only one more I would've made rank 3.  At this time I left
the arena and got my bad of
goodies.  I got only 4 boosters and went back to claim my other 4
everyone was supposed to get.  I got 3
gym challenge and a jungle pack.  I went to sit down and out of the 8
packs I got 5 holos in them.  (what I
got and traded for is at the bottom).  I then waited another 20 minute
for the final standings and I went
from 26 to 15!!!  I went to claim my top 32 booster pack prize, which
contained about 10 -12 booster
packs.  I went over to another table and asked if I could trade them in
for gym challenge packs.  I told
them that I have all the cards and opening half of these packs would do
me no good.  They gladly picked
out gym challenge packs and we swapped one for one.  I got a rocket
zapdos out of one these packs =).

I went out of the tournament area and played in the open gym and a few
other gyms.  I easily beat a few
people and got about 12 more boosters to add to my list of winnings.
After al was said and done, I had
received a shirt, and about 30 booster packs.  I also had many other
goodies in my bags.  I never was
able to get an autograph from Ken Sugimori because he signed cards while
the tourney was going on and I
never had a chance.  I never did find my dad in time.  I did get a
picture with Dark Raichu and I stayed
away from the big Pikachu walking around.

After all of the Tournament I went to go talk with people I wanted to
meet.  I met Ness, Mike, and many
other people from online.  I also found Bryson who made the finals for
the 10 and under division. Thanks
again for offering a ride up here. For those who want to know the
metagame, there was mainly rocket
zapdos and haymaker decks roaming about.  A few brave raindances were
about, but got easily crushed.
Overall it was fun and I wish to go to something like this again.

I've never been in such a great tournament or ever really do so well in
a tourney with tons of people.  I
opened all of my packs the hour after everything and I pulled the
following cards: Blaine's Charizard,
Brock's Ninetails, Koga's Beedrill x2 Mr. Mime HOLO, Nidoqueen HOLO,
Clefable HOLO, Rocket's
Zapdos, Misty's Gyarados, and Sabrina HOLO.  I then traded for a Misty's
Gyarados, Erika's Venusaur
and a Giovanni HOLO.(I traded for the gyarados before I opened the pack
with it.)
I got many other rares, but too many too list.
Well I had a great time and around 8pm we left for the NJ turnpike and
to my grandmas house.
