Saturday,February 5,2000
'Bout 10 Participants
Well, since you can't change decks during a tourney, I have to
stick wit'
my li'l fruity rainbow colored deck. I'm pretty sure y'all want a different
deck for my reports by now and so do I. Actually, I could've modified it a
bit since the Gym Leaders practically didn't give our decks a gander before
the tourney, but I play by the honor code, like everyone else does, or do
you...?! Ah, anyways, no changes to the deck, so here's the list and then
the report.

The Report(ahhh!!!!!!!!!!)
Well, I made it as one of the final 3 undefeated trainers
left. Since
it's an odd number and there's me involved, of course I hafta play while my
rival jus' sits there and relax....
Match 1-Brandon w/Fire and Fight
Honestly, I thought it was luck that brought this kid up to
here. He's
jus' a li'l guy, yet he made it this far. I must commend him a well done
before I go any further. He should've won this match, but didn't,oh well..
I got one of the absolutely WORST hands you can start out
with, and since
it was so HIDEOUS, I actually remembered most of it: a single Mime and
everything else energy. He had a Machop up front and a Jigglypuff for
backup. As if things weren't as ugly for me than it already were, he gets
to
go first. Well, I kept drawing ER but that didn't keep Mime lasting any
longer. Fortunately, I get to reshuffle my deck only and get a more
suitable
hand. I quickly gusted out his Sandshrew, got some DBC and comet
punched
away the wretched rodent(which I had to retreat Mr.Mime back from since
meditate didn't land on the screwy li'l mouse). He then brings up Machop and
made quick work of Kanga. Noticing that most of his bench was composed of
fighting, I kept only one 'Buzz out and used mainly Scythers and Mimes. By
the late game, I repaid his li'l "sand attack"techniques with my own
Magmar,
and he kept flippin' tailz like I did(I bet he also hates Aerodactyl, too).
Mr.Mime got his revenge and was a meditating machine against his Primeape and
Machoke. Bottom line is that once the wheel starts turnin' it never stops,
and he was run over.
Match 2-Lee Richie w/Lightning and Fire
Ah, the TRUE threat to my current status in the league.
OR so I thought,
as I jump ahead of him in a few prizes, taking out a Charmander and base
Pikachu wit' 'Buzz. Another li'l lizard comes out and embers away 'Buzz, but
another one replaces it and KOs it in 1 hit thanks to pluspower. Lee
conceeds, sayin' that I had an excellent start compared to him and that he was
just gettin' crap and more crap in his hand. I can't deny it, so i'm not
sayin' anything else.
Match 3-Lucas w/Grass,Psychic,and Fight
This match didn't count toward my tourney record, it's just
casual play.
Anyways, I still need to observe toward my deck's weaknesses,so it wouldn't
hurt playing against a little 6 yr old and his father. Basically, it was a
grass deck, with an Onix thrown in as well as base Mewtwo and Mew.
His Koffings were just 'Buzz bait due to their slow speed, but his li'l
Venonat was the only slight snag I encountered. He paralyzed 'Buzz for 2
turns before I had enough and scooped it up and smogged it away. He started
getting no energy, since it's being dumped in the discard pile along with his
dead pokemon. From then one, Magmar stood and took down his Bellsprout,Nidoran
F, and Mewtwo for the win. I helped him with his deck after the match.
Match 4-Gym Leader KJ w/Raindance
I though my starting Magmar was gone once I knew it was up
against an
Articuno and he goes first. Magmar fought valiantly, but 'Buzz had to
clean
up the mess. His Gyarados gave my 'Buzzes a pretty hard time since my
Scythers weren't to be found. Good thing Mime came up and calmed the raging
dragon permanently. However, another Articuno comes up and paralyzes
Mime,so
I had to switch it out and bring it back in. Then I pissed him off even
more
by tpunching away his squirtle that had like,4 water energies on it. His
Lapras gave my Magmar some trouble, but I managed to get it outta there and
punish the overweight beefcake. He had a wartortle pumped and ready to
evolve but his only Blastoise wasn't around so that's game. You'll get 'em
next time KJ!
Results
Well, nothin' else is new, but some REALLY disgruntled
trainers and KJ's
li'l(well, I shouldn't say li'l..)brother ate TWO bags of animal crackers and
THREE HI-C juice boxes! GEEZ! That FAT eating machine didn't leave anything
for me! I'm afraid I might have to teach him some lessons, mentally and
physically. Anyway, that's the bottom line 'cuz da Hamsta said so!!!!!!!
