This was the first organized tournament I ever went to. It was held at
Mark's
Comics and Collectibles 109 North Centreat Ave Valley Stream, New York on
Saturday 2/19. The registration was 5 dolars and 14 people showed up.
I
went with my friend Ryan, I made his deck. He wanted me to make him a 7
color deck with pokemon that don't evolve so I put in, Pinsir, Fossil Magmar,
Lapras, Tauros, Hitmonlee, Jynx, and Electabuzz. It works good because it
shouldn't. Well enough about him lets get to me. I played my haymaker Pure
Power III. I have been perfecting it since September '99
4 Hitmonchan- Pure Speed
3 Scyther- KIlls the Hitmonchan
3 Tauros- For the occasional Physic deck
12 Fighting- Don't need many
5 Grass- For that swords dance
4 DCE- for Tauros and Scyther
4 Bill- Gets the cards I want
4 Plus Power- That extra 10
4 Gust of Wind- Kill the Charmanders before they evolve
4 Energy Removal- Denyial
3 Pro. Oak- Gets the cards I want
2 Super Potion- Heals that Hitmonchan
2 SER- See ya later energy
2 Computer Search- Gets the cards I want
2 Item Finder- Gets the cards I want
2 Switch- When there parylized, alseep, confused and Tauros and Hitmonchan
have a 2 retreat

We played a Swiss Style tournmnet and the top 4 would go into a round robin.
This is my tournmnet report
vs. Justin [(Eletric, Fire)Used cards like Magneton, Raichu, Zapdos and
Moltres]
I started out with HItmonchan, and knocked off 2
Pikachus and he had 2
Raichus in his hand. He got one to go to Raichu and got off and agliaty
attack the flip was heads. I just had to wait and next flip he got tails and
its see ya later Raichu. The he brang in Zapdos. I retreat Hitmonchan sent
in Scyther and Scyther did the rest form there. He had a Moltres with 3
energies on it by I SER. won by prizes

Sal vs. Andrew [(Kinda everything deck)Used Buzz, Chan, Chansey, Aero]
This guy was a grown man there with his
wife. Everyone was afraid to
play him, I know I was. It started out Scyther vs. Scyther. I won the flip
and had those grass enegies in my hand to swords dance. But we both were
in
a Energy Removing frenzy. He played a SER and ER, and so did I. At the end
though I ended up having more card advantage so I had the energies. I
forced
him to Oak and he was barley. Scyther won this entire match. He
ended up
killing a Ditto for the win. won by prizes
Record 2-0
Right now there were only 2 people that were 2-0 so I played my friend Ryan
who was 2-0 and Alex (an elven year old that was 2-0) played Andrew, (the guy
just beat)
Sal vs. Ryan (An everything deck)
I let Ryan win. I was better then Ryan so I
let him win. I put 2 DCE
and a grass on my Hitmonchan and his Lapas killed him.

After that Alex to Andrew so Ryan was the only undefeated person.
Sal vs. Alex [(Yes the same Alex that was just 2-0) He had a parylizing deck]
It started out my Hitmonchan vs. His weak basics.
I continually kill
weak Staryu and Electabuzz. I had 1 more prize left and he had 6. I
knew I
was going to win (and the winner of out match went to the semi finals the
loser was out) but I had this game so I kept forgeting to attack and kill
that Starmie. But eventually I had to win. won by prizes

There were only four people with a recrord of 3-1 or better Ryan went
undefeated so he was first and I had to play every single semi finialst (and
one kid that would of made it. If I didn't play him) So I was 2nd. Andrew
was 3rd and Justin was 4th

This was cheap, I had to play every single one of the semi finilists.
Sal vs. Andrew agian
He had 2 basics and I had to basics. He had
an active Hitmonchan and a
benched Electabuzz. I had an active Scyther and a benched Hitmonchan.
So I
just countered anything he did. Scyther killed Hitmonchan. and when we
bought in Buzz I sent in Hitmonchan. I jabbed for 40 and Hitmonchan was at
full health. He said I lose. But then I said that he can Thundershock me
get
the parylization and draw a basic. So he tried that and I jabbed to win.

Sal vs. Ryan (last time I let him win)
It started out a HItmonchan vs. Lapras. I
went first and jabbed for
20. he wend an water gunned for 10. I jabbed agian. he
attached an energy
and water gunned for 20. I went and attached two plus powers and jabbed to
win.
Record 5-1
Ryan and I both had a great time. I got 1st he got 2nd. First place was 25
dollars in store credit and 2nd was 17 in store credit. that is a totat
net
gane of 32 dollars. With my money I bought 24 damage counters, 200
sleeves,
an OverGrowth theme deck and the started deck. Ryan bought a Blackout
deck,
a fossil booster and 100 sleeves.
If I didn't let Ryan win he would of gone 3-1 and had to play Andrew, and he
would of lost!!! He owes be big time.
