Match 1 vs. Jason (Venusaur deck)
This kid was pretty good but his deck might have needed a little
tweaking.  I saw Venusaur once and lost an Electabuzz and Jigglypuff.
Wiggly ended up getting the best of his Pinsir, Scyther, Oddish(?!), and
an unevolved Bulbasaur.  I won by prizes but it was closer than I would
have liked.

Record 1-0

Match 2 vs. Ron (Raindance)
I must admit I was a little nervous about playing against this guy.
He was undefeated so far with what looked like a very well built
Raindance deck.  He had Seel and Dewgong as opposed to Magikrap and
Gyarados.  Lucky for me I had Electabuzz ready to go on the second turn.
I never got to see any of Blastoise as Buzz made short work of his swim
team.

Record 2-0

Match 3 vs. Ron again (this time he used a Fire deck)
This one was quick--in his favor.  I had a lonely Jigglypuff get
poisoned by Fossil Magmar.  Where's that Scoop Up when I need it!!!

Record 2-1

Match 4 vs. Ron--Rematch
This one was good.  Again I started with a lone Jiggly (argh!).  He
had an active Magmar and one on the bench.  He started and Smokescreened
for 10.  I laid energy on Jiggly and did Lullaby through Smoke but he
woke up. This went on for a while until we both had some guys on the
bench ready to go.  Thank goodness Wiggly thrives on that!  I knocked
out Magmar then an Arcanine, Vulpix and Ninetails. I got down to one
prize left but I was way low on cards due to Oaking.  It came down to
Magmar vs. Electabuzz with his Magmar doing Smokescreen like there was
no tomorrow.  Thunderpunch finally worked and I drew my last prize with
ONE card left in the deck.  Whew!

Record 3-1

Well that's about all the games I had time for today.  Hopefully I can
play some more next week against other decks and report on that.  Here's
my mandatory Props and Slops:

Props to:  Ron for being such a good player and      a good sport.
Props to:  My son Deion for getting a good haul      on trades and
completing his Base Set.

Slops to:  The people in this town who won't           host tournaments,
although I don't think it will      be long until that happens.
Slops to:  The ignorant people who think that           Pokemon is a
fad, a kid's game, or just plain       evil.  Apparently they have never
played the       game.
