Game Empire

This is my 2nd tourny and was way BETTER than my last one which I didn't get DIDDLY SQUAT!!!!! But on this tourney I went to the finals. My friend Stephen D. (Sorry about the name last time!) finally came or on the other hand drove me there. The 6 people were Kevin, Jason, Kendrick (Me), Stephen, Jessica, and David (I don't know their last names). As you can see 6 people came and to make it longer they said to play 2 out of 3 per each match and WE WERE PLAYING SWISS STYLE!!!!! That was around 10 or more matches! I knew this was gonna be a long tournament and it turned out to be 6 hours LONG!!!! Man! I felt like leaving! Before the tourney (About 5 minutes before) I bought a Base Set Booster and (They still had some boxes!!!!) got a Clefairy Doll which I don't think it was that great compared to what my friend Stephen got which was a Holo-Zapdos from Base Set. But still it was a card which wasn't going to be printed anymore in Base Set 2. Sorry if this was TOO LONG but I had to tell someone you know?

As you know this is a Fire Deck but with no CHARIZARDS!!! But instead Magmars and the Growlithe Evolution and also with the help of Wigglytuff in his deck. In my opening hand I got a Scyther and a Chansey. ( He got a Growlithe and a Base Set Magmar. I started it off with a Scyther and he started it off with a Growlithe. He won the coin flip and attached a Fire energy and passed. I retreated my Scyther and brought up Chansey to stall while I get better basics. By the 6th or so turn he had Archcanine out on the bench and was using Base Set Magmar to attack with Flamethrower. I Scooped Up Chansey which made him really mad and brought out my Electabuzz and Thundershocked him for 10 and paralises. He passed and I thunderpunched for 40 and the KO. He brought up Archcanine but I Energy Removaled it earlier so it takes him 2 turns to use Flamethrower. By the time he used Flamethrower, I had a pumped up Chansey on the bench which I thought he didn't see. So I retreated my Electabuzz and brought up Chansey and did Double-Edged for 80 and 80 to myself. He had 20 HP left so he Flamethrowered and killed my Chansey. Next turn I brought up a Hitmonchan and Jabed for the KO. This went on until I got a Pumped Hitmonchan and killed his Wigglytuff for the win!

I started out of what I think to be an Electabuzz and a Mr. Mime. He started out with a Magmar (Base Set) and a Jigglypuff which made me gasp cause I had a Mr. Mime on the bench. I won the flip and Thundershocked his Magmar and Parilized it! He attached an energy to Jigglypuff cause he knew that Magmar would die. On my turn, I attached an energy and Thunderpunched and it was TAILS!!!! Sigh! He went and Proffesor Oaked for Basics and his......Wigglytuff!!!! I mumbled some words as he attached a DCE to Wigglytuff and passed.

I Thundershocked for the KO and took my prize. He went and attached an energy to his Growlithe and did Do The Wave to kill my Electabuzz. I drew a card and it was a Hitmonchan!!! I brought up the Mr. Mime and stalled for a while till he finally got a Gust of Wind and Gusted out my Hitmonchan for Do The Wave which damaged him for 60. I got another energy and attached it to the Hitmonchan and Special Punched for the KO. I said bye bye to the Wigglytuff as he brought out a Magmar from Fossil and killed my Hitmonchan. I had a Jigglypuff and attached a DCE and Pounded him for 20. This went on till I got an Professor Oak and Oaked for a wigglytuff and a 3 basics which filled up my bench and did Do The Wave for the kill and for the win!!!! He never saw that coming!!! =) By the way, he was around 30 or so and listed his age on the list as OLD so i never knew his real age. But an adult playing a tourney with little kids ain't fair you know but we doon't have any age categories. He went to the finals last time with the kid with Promo Mewtwos and Electabuzzes and lost to him and just think I BEAT HIM!!!!! YAY!!!!

This is one of those matches which you knew you had to do something but didn't. I never knew it was a stall deck cause he started out with a Tentacool. First, I thought he was playing a Raindance and I was too arrogant to kill his Tentacool right away and I let him hit on my electabuzz which I couldn't get any energy for and kill his Tentacool. I knew I should of Scooped him up and brought out my Scyther and kill the Tentacool but before I had the intention of doing that.....he played a Chansey and retreated his Tentacool for the Chansey and stalled. I knew this was a Stall Deck but it was too late.......I didn't have a Gust of Wind so I Slashed his Chansey. Next turn what you think happened? Breeder to a Alakazam and stalled for awhile until he Scooped up the chansey with 9 counters on it and brought up Alakazam. I wasn't worried until he had a Gust of Wind and used it on Hitmonchan and Confused Rayed for 60 (cause of weakness) and Confused me. I tried to retreat and loss my energies. I had one left and S.E.R.ed his Psychic Energies. This gave me time but by the next 6 turns, it had gone over 45 minutes so the Judge started a time limit cause of us. I loss the first match cause of his Tentacool and his Alakazam killing everyone and Damage Swapping his damage to Chansey and Tentacool for Cowardice!

This time I knew he had a Stall so I knew a had to kill his Abras as fast as i can! I started out with a Jigglypuff and a Scyther. This is a OK hand except for the fact that it takes at least 2 energies to attack so I couldn't kill his abras right away! And he started with an Abra and a Tentacool and I couldn't attack and from here I had 30 minutes left in the time limit and at the end we got a tie game so he won by a win and a half. But if I did win then it would have been a tie game and our thrid match will be a coin toss and winner of that will win. So this match was a really SORRY loss for me! And is it the fact that I loss to the stall deck and I beat Jason, the guy with Promo Mewtwos and he beat the Stall Deck?!?!?!? What's with that?!?!?!?! Sheesh! Grrrr........

For all the people in San Diego, this is the guy you should watch out for!!! Even though I know I can beat him (Cause he decks himself EVERY time I play him and thats how I win even though I think it wasn't even a real win cause he was so close to killing me and I decked him!) doesn't mean that you will and with the infomation of what I told you about the top 2 players here, Jason and Kevin, I hope you will do some metagaming and create a deck to deal with these decks down here! I started with a crappy hand and he got a Promo Mewtwo and a Electabuzz. He won the coin flip and attached an energy to Promo Mewtwo and Oaked and got a Jigglypuff. He used Energy Absorbtion and was all charged up! I retreated my Scyther and brought out My Jigglypuff and stalled while I got a Wigglytuff and some Bills. I attached an energy to Jigglypuff and Lullabyed and he got TAILS!!!! I got out my basics next turn and evolved my Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff and did Do The Wave for 60! He retreated next turn and brought up a fully charged Electabuzz and Thunderpunched me for 30! I did Do The Wave and he next turn he Thundershocked he with no paralise and I went on to Do The Wave for the knock out. He brought up a Mr. Mime and stalled until he got enough energy on the Mr. Mime and killed my Wigglytuff. I brought up my Hitmonchan and Jabbed for 20. I knew I was going to win this one and he came back by retreating his Mr. Mime and Psyburned my Hitmonchan. I got a Jigglypuff and retreated my Scyther for the Jigglypuff and attached a DCE and Pound for the kill. This became a Lullaby battle between my Jigglypuff and his Wigglytuff. He finally was down to 2 prizes when he killed my Jigglypuff with a Electabuzz and I brought up a Scyther to stall for awhile cause i knew I couldn't win by prizes but only by decking him so my Scyhter lasted 2 turns and I retreated and brought out a Chansey till he decked himself!!!! YES!!!!!!!!

I started out with a GODLY hand!!! I got a Scyther, Jigglypuff, and a Hitmonchan!!!! I put the Scyther as my active and won the coin flip! This was going all my way! I got a Bill and Billed for an DCE and a Wigglytuff!!! I retreated my Scyther cause he had a Promo Mewtwo as his active and brought up Jigglypuff with one energy and Lullabyed. He got heads but it didn't matter cause I got a Oak in my hand a Wigglytuff getting ready to evolve!!! He attached a Psychic Energy and Oaked and he used Energy Absorbtion to get 2 Psychic Energies on Mewtwo. I evolved my Jigglypuff and attached a DCE and used a Computer Search for a Basic and Oaked for more. By the time I was done, I had a full bench and did Do The Wave for 60! Yes! He retreated and brought up Electabuzz. He Thunderpunched me for 40. I drew a card and this is one for the ages!!! I got a Gust of Wind! I gusted out the Promo Mewtwo and did Do The Wave for the first KO of the game! He brought up the Electabuzz again and Thundershocked me hoping for Paralises but he got TAILS!!!! I laughed as I did Do The Wave to kill the Electabuzz (I knew this was bad sportsmanship but I couldn't help myself beating last tourny's Champion to 4 to 6 prizes!) He came back with one prize cause he killed my Wigglytuff with his Jigglypuff. By now he had Oaked 2 times in the same turn looking for his Wiggly but no luck! HA! I brought up my card and drew a card. I retreated my Scyther and brought up Hitmonchan and Jabbed for 40. He drew a card and what I think he got was a Computer Search which he used to get a Wigglytuff and evolved his Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff and did Do The Wave with a Plus Power for the KO of my Hitmonchan! I stalled 6 more turns and got 4 prizes left while he had 2 left!!! I got a Mr. Fuji which I used to shuffle my Scyther with 4 energies back into my deck and increased my cards in my deck! I decked him once again!!! And beat him (The Champion of the last tourney!).

He started off good compared to what I had which was a Scyther and a Jigglypuff. He started out with a Fossil Magmar and Smokescreened me for 20. I retreated and brought up Jigg;ypuff and Lullabyed. He got Tails (I think cause I wrote this after the day on the tourney) and charged up his Electabuzz and flipped Heads to wake up! I got a trader and traded my Scyther for a Wigglytuff. I evolved my Jigglypuff to a Wigglytuff and did Do The Wave for 30. He Smokescreened me next turn and I flipped Heads to Do The Wave and for the KO. I don't remember much from here on out but I know I did win this match by decking him and all he needed was another energy to win! But he Oaked and found no energy in his 6 cards cause that was all he had! YAY!!! So I won this round by decking him like Jason K. Sigh!

She stalled Jason the one with the Mewtwos and Electabuzzes BIG TIME cause of her Lickitunge against his Promo Mewtwo!!! She kept on Parilizing him and eventually killed the Promo Mewtwo! But Jason's Electabuzz beat her in the 2 matches which she didn't win any! I feel sort of sorry for her for losing all matches including this one without winning any matches. I faced her and drew some pretty good cards and she had a Growlithe, Lickitunge, and a Charmander. I had a Electabuzz, Scyther, and a Hitmonchan. My active was a Electabuzz which got stalled BIG time with which I think was a rigged coin (The Aerodactyle one from the Fossil Theme Decks!). She eventually used a Switch and brought out a Growlithe to kill my Electabuzz and I brought out my Hitmonchan which I got the 5 turn or so..... and Jabbed for 20. This lasted until I had 60 damage on me and her Growlithe had died or fainted whatever you want to call it. She brought out a Jigglypuff and killed my Hitmonchan. I got revenge by using my Charged up Electabuzz and Thunderpunching the Lickitunge to death. All she had left was a Charmander which she gusted out my Scyther and Embered it for 60 but I retreated it and brought out the Electabuzz again and killed the Charmander in 2 turns which she didn't get any basics by then.

This was a pretty quick game. She had a Lickitunge AGAIN!!! and I had a Hitmonchan and a Electabuzz. I probably would have guessed that she would start with a Lickitunge and that is why I placed the Himonchan as my basic and electabuzz on my bench. I Jabbed for 40 and she Tougue Wrapped me but with no Paralises. So I Jabbed for another 40. She Tougue Wrapped again but this time with paralises. Next turn I attached a Lightning Energy on Electabuzz and Scoop Up Hitmonchan and then Thundershocked Lickitunge for the KO and win.

I got a Scyther and a Hitmonchan. He got a Electabuzz and a Promo Mewtwo. He won the flip and started it out with a Promo Mewtwo. He attached a Psychic Enegy onto Mewtwo and Oaked (Like Always!) and used Energy Absorbtion. I got Scyther as my active and left him there. I attached a energy to Hitmonchan and passed. He got a Jigglypuff and used Psyburn for 40. I got a Scoop Up and Scooped Scyther up and from all the Scooping that I have done in this game and the other game I played him, he called me a wuss cause I used too many Scoop Ups and he always predicted one coming when one of my pokemon was injured. I called my use of Scoop ups skill. He said the same thing to Stephen and Stephen said the same thing to me. I eventually decked him cause he Oaked 2 times in a turn to get a Wigglytuff and some basics. This practically killed him until 6 more turns of tremendous efforts to stall which I suceeded and he decked himself (Like always!).

He got a Jigglypuff and a Electabuzz. I could of had it if I had a Hitmonchan. But he got me when I brought out my Scyther and Electabuzz. He used Electabuzz to kill my Electabuzz. Then I brought up Scyther to stall a little bit to get a Pokemon trader or something that would give me a basic. I got the gift of glory!!!!!! An OAK!!!! I used Item Finder for a S.E.R. that I had used earlier and then Oaked for a whole JACK of energies and Pokemon. Jason sighed cause he wanted this to end cause this was too long and before this match he offered to split the winnings to $22 each which I accepted and then when we came to the Judge to tell him about the split of profits, he said "....we need a first and second place!" So as we started back to the table, the Judge changed his mind and said we could but I changed my mind and we battled on at another table cause they needed the table which we were at for the Warhammer tournament. I passed and he Oaked and then Billed and then Billed again! He attacked my Scyther for 40 and then I Scooped Up Scyther which he said after he attacked "....Scoop Up huh?" I said YES! LOL I attacked with Electabuzz which I got from the Oak and Thundershocked him with Paralises and then he Oaked AGAIN!!!!!!! For a Wigglytuff and then Scooped Up the Electabuzz and brought out Wigglytuff with a FULL bench and with the aid of a Plus Power, he killed my Electabuzz. I brought up a Scyther which he also killed with a Plus Power and when he had 3 cards left and my Hitmonchan was out, he Item Finded and got a Plus Power and then did Do The Wave for the KO and the win.

This match was pretty much similar to the last one but I had better cards at the start. I got a Scyther, Electabuzz, and a Mr. Mime. He got (of what can see) a Promo Mewtwo and a Electabuzz. his active was a Promo Mewtwo and mine was a Scyther. He won the flip and attached a Psychic Enegy to Mewtwo and then Oaked. He used Energy Absorbtion. I got a Jigglypuff (Yes!). I retreated my Scyther and borught up Jigglypuff. I attached an energy to Jigglypuff and Lullabyed! He got Tails and attached an energy to Electabuzz and then passes the turn to me. I got a Bill and Billed for a Wiggly and another Bill. I Billed again and get another Scyther and Hitmonchan. I evolve Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff and attached a DCE and did Do The Wave for 50. He retreats and brings up Electabuzz and the thundershocks me and parilises me. I get another DCe and attach it on Scyther and the pass. He gets out a Wigglytuff also by now and then retreats his Electabuzz for the pumped Wigglytuff and does 60 to me leaving My Wigglytuff with 10 HP left. I did Do The Wave and when it is his turn, he retreats and brings up Electabuzz and Thundershocks for the kill. I get my Hitmonchan and Jab for 40. He Scoops Up his Electabuzz and brings up Wigglytuff and attaches a DCE and does Do The Wave for 70 with the help of the Plus Power. He does the same thing to my Scyther and then to my Electabuzz. He has a fair amount of cards while he has 1 prize left. I have 3 prizes left. I am using Chansey to stall but he gets a Gust of Wind and Gusts out my Electabuzz and then Item Finds for a Plus Power and then kills my Electabuzz for the KO and tourney win.

I got 2nd while I could of agreed with him and got $22 dollars store credit instead of $15 dollars store credit. He went first and got 8 Base Set boosters (He got his boosters first and this was a good thing and I'll explain later!) and left before I could ask him to open them here so I could see what he got but I will ask him next time. What he got was probably worst than what I got! Even though he got 8 boosters. I got 4 boosters of the Base Set and 99 cents was left over so I added $3 dollars more to get the last booster in the box which totaled my Base Set boosters to 5 boosters. After I got the boosters, I had the incredible urge to go to the bathroom which I held throughout the finals (I would have been disqualified if I left!). I ran to the nearby Kinko's Copies cause Game Empire didn't have a bathroom and relieved myself while my boosters were in my pocket. As I went out, I met Stephen, who was helping me carry my things. I took some of his load as him and I went into the car. In the car, I opened my boosters and in the order of what I got, I got : Lass, Item Finder, Charizard, Nidoking, and Blastoise. For those people who don't believe me and have gooey, they can ask Stephen (Gooey Name: DraGON804) as one of my only 2 witnesses, him and his mom. I immediatly put the CHARIZARD into a Black Ultra-Pro Slide after I held it carefully in awe!!! And I did the same thing to the other holos that I got!!!! Which was Nidoking and Blastoise. Wasn't I lucky that I picked up my boosters after him? I think so....... We went to Mc'Donalds after and I went home after that!!!!!
