Hey PoJo whats up? this event was held at the pokemon leauge in sterling Va
at the local tuys r us ,I thought i'd get off the potpouri band wagon for a
while and try out a mono grass evolving type deck based around the Pokemon
tag team champions of the world VENUSAUR AND NIDOKING!!! They are THE best
grass evolution cards in the english version right now and they are very
strong,So without further ado i give you double beam
Double Beam:
Energy ( 22 ):
20 grass
2 double colorless
Pokemon ( 23 )
2 Scythers ( I mainly use him as a wall because of his 0 retreat cost and
70hp)
4 Nidoran ( yeah the male one )
3 Nidorino ( try not to use him as a fighter unless you must or the
Nidokings are in the discard pile )
2 Nidokings ( i think i have already made it clear what i think of him :) )
4 Bulbasaur ( not great but i have used him to screw those Mimes )
3 Ivysaur ( also not great but kills mimes with poisonpowder )
2 Venusaur ( pokemon power is great and so long to those energy removal
problems)
1 Kangaskhan ( fetch fetch fetcharoo and stall not intended as attacker
unless the other punk is using an effective psy deck )
2 chansey ( intende as an attacker but dont take his life on bad cards)
Trainers ( 15 )
3 Plus Power ( might not fit the theme but it works)
4 Bills ( its bill need i type anything? )
2 Professor Oak ( the man rarely lets me down)
3 energy removal ( set the other person back a turn)
1 scoop up ( use on pokemon that dont or arent evolved unless nesscary )
2 Gust of Wind ( use it then attack for the kill )
all right the report:
match 1 vs Phil a gym leader using a gym leader deck
I open the match with a scyther him with a machop talk about advatage he goes
first and puts 2 basics down a onix and a sandshrew?!? he must of saw my face
because he explained the deck was premade.any way he bothered low kicking for
nothing and i went put a bulbasaur and Nidoran on on the bench attached a
grass to scyther and swords danced i didnt have a 2 colorless but i could
have drawn 1
he went and put a energy on his onix and he was done.I went and put another
grass energy on scyther swords danced and i was done hewent put a energy on
machop then retreated him and sent out onix i went then i heard him say
"CRAP" he obviusly forgot about the weakness so i attached an energy to 
scyther and slashed for the kill the game went on like this for a while until
he managed to knock out my scyther with a feared pidgey by then i had a
fully loaded Venusaur and I advanced him and proceded to knock out all of his
pokemon with venusaur till it was done.

match 2 vs K.J.another gym leader
this match started out great for me he also had fighting deck but he also had
articunos and scythers pretty good but he needs some better trainers anyway
he went first with a hitmonlee and me with a kangaskhan luckily i got all 3
energy removals hehehehehe he put an energy on hitmonlee and said done i
went, drew put a 2 bulbasaurs and a nidoran down any way it gets kind of
repitve I kept on energy removaling him to death and finally got out 1
venusaur and 2 nidokings well i think its pretty obvios who won ( me )
record  won 2 lost 0
match 3 vs Viet good player but I swear he cheats but he looks so innocent
and short anyway he had an all psychic deck ( well I'm screwed my deck is
weaker against psychic than fire anyway he openend up with a lickitung and
gastly on the bench I opened with a nidoran while this match is rathher good
but I cant remember it but he ended up wining with 1 prize left for me ,well
that stunk he won because those mimes I couldnt concentrate because all the
little kids yelling about god knows what and giving me a migrane but I am
certain that I would have won if not for that.while I finished up 2-1 because
those KIDS any way next week we are having a actuall tourny to see whose the
best expect a update then Oh and send all complements fan mail and
