i have a new submission for the killer deck section,"please calm down".
first off i would like to thank tou all who wrote with suggestions/comments
on my"whoa, is my cards out?" killer deck. i appreciate the input.
   this was the same tourney as the last one but it was on june 11. there
were 18 participants at "let the games bebin" in greenville,sc. i built this
deck to combat the haymakers that are/were over-running the tournament scene
at LTGB. this is the first time i attempted met-gaming and i met few
haymakers this time.

3 hitmonchans (for buzz, tuff and licki and chansey that people try to stall
with)
2 mr mimes (for chans)
2 sctyher (for the options a free retreat give me)
3 fossil magmar (for scyther and poison is good on anyone)

5 fist NRG

2 rainbow
4 DCE
   my NRG mix is off. i don't know why. YET. i will figure it out but i
think i have come across a deck where garbage runs ain't gonna help me and i
should up the NRG count. now this is a major revelation for me because
before yesterday i wouda said that NGR fits in all decks)

  in hindsight what also affected this deck was that i had 4 pokemon that
needed at least two energy to do anything so i spent alot of time working
around that and i probably did not handle that aspect well due to lack of
patience but i need to move on...

  1st round vs. douglas w?dark dragonair raindance deck
    kudos to douglas, ihe was playing something original. he kept using dark
dragonairs power and getting his blastoise , dark blastoise and gyrados out
quickly.  but the he did it too quick and i just mimed him to death in two
straight games. i like the idea of this deck and it has potential. his
problem was that he evolved EVERYTHING and he did it too quickly. a little
patience and he will be fine. also he has some energy concerns but i could
not figure out what they were.
RECORD 2-0
   2nd round vs. david w/mono-electric
       this was basically the same deck i played and beat last week. david
has these all-powerful cards (ie buzz, zapdos, dark magneton and both dark
electrode and electrode) but obviously they do not mix and his deck takes
too long to set-up. these games were not pretty and he was constantly in a
hole.

    3rd round vs. some kid w/beedrill and kakuna deck
   earlier in the day this kid asked me (a bit on the snide side)"why do you
play pokemon and battle?" i told him i was really eight years old and had
that disease like robin williams had in the movie JACK where i aged 4 years
physically for each chronological year old i was. at least he had a story to
take home with him cause he left me empty-handed. he was a bit of a wiseguy
so i dispensed with him quickly.

 i made the playoffs
  vs ben w/ same haymaker he crushed me with in last week's final
  we played one game and it was a great game. i got off to super slow start
with no energy and i got thru the 1st 5 turns by scooping. this frustrated
him and i started to get the right cards. i had to oak twice on my last turn
to get the necessary fist NRG(remember i told you there was a problem) and i
only had 3 cards left but i did all that so i could collect my last prize.
this was a good game , it rivalled me and ben's game from last week but i
won this one.
  FINALS 2 out of 3
  vs ben's brother, james
   james was playing a haymaker similar to his brothers. i lost quickly and
james played well. i was totally helpless as i drew 2 scythers and 2 mimes
combined for both games, i drew no comp search or oaks in either game and i
got no DCE and a lone psychic. if i coulda drew a chan i coulda fought back
but they were no where to be found.

  second place ain't too bad. i got 10 dollars in store credit. also itraded
for 2 sneak attacks and 2 more rainbow and at a flea market earlier in the
day a guy sold me a base2 chansey and 2 scoop ups for 3 bucks.next week i
hope to play my "effie's purple haze" so i am looking forward to it.   feel
