Hello, PoJo-Holics!! It's Your Friendly Neighborhood Deck
Mech, Satoshi, here with a deck report for your reading pleasure. I played
at the Pokemon League at Toys 'R' Us in Temecula, CA for one purpose: to
playtest my new deck for an upcoming tournament. See, we don't have DCI
Pokemon Tournaments in the League like some of ya. We get badges and stuff.
I've stopped going for the badges, and it seems to be a pretty good psych
out. I'll explain why later. On to the Report!!

Before the Games: Well, I got checked in, and had barely set my
stuff down before my friend, Alex, challenged me. His deck was a Raindance
that I had helped him with.
ROUND ONE- Alex w/ Odariu Raindance
Oh boy. I got wasted. Turn two Blastoise against my small guys(darn
it Electabuzz, where are you?) meant a quick win for him. He plowed through
my Fossil Magmars faster than anyone I'd ever seen. Oy.
W-0 L-1
Between Games: Ouch. What a loss. I would have felt worse, if I hadn't been
beaten by a good friend and fellow Blastoise lover. :^) Oh, well. Next
Game!!
ROUND TWO- ??? w/ ?????
I'm still bad at names. :^) This guy had some wierded-out
fighting/psychic/electric deck with Sabrina's Abras/Kadabras and at least
one Lt. Surge Raichu...but no Lt. Surge's Pikachu??!! Before I challeged
him, he was braging that he couldn't lose. I HATE that kind of additude.
After I killed his first PKMN, a Pikachu, he mumbled something about Lt.
Surge's Raichu. Okay, time to play search and destroy w/ any and all
Pikachus. >:^) To make a not-so-long story even shorter, his Pikachus were
no match for my TR Machop. He never did get to play his Lt. Surge's Raichu,
and was forced to play with Sabrina's Abras and regular Pikachus.
W-1 L-1
Between Games: Well. He wasn't so arrogant now. Still, he wanted to play
again. I accepted, and we play another 4-prize game.
ROUND THREE- Same dude as Round Two ;^)
Okay, we start out with my Electabuzz VS. a Sabrina's Abra. }:^(
Okay, I need to stress how stupid it is to play with japanese cards not yet
in English. Are some players so weak that they need to have an unfair
advantage?? Guess so. Anyway, I draw Ditto and bench it. I attach a L energy
to 'Buzz and Thundershock, no para. He goes, attaches a P energy to Abra and
does something...for 10 damage. I go, and attach a DCE to Ditto and 'Shock,
no para. He goes, attaches another P energy to Abra, and does something to
Buzz for para. Okay, I can only guess that he is going to use a Sabrina's
Kadabra soon, so I attach a R energy to Ditto. A few turns later, he has
a(surprise) Sabrina's Kadabra out, full health via a Potion, and has just
killed my 'Buzz. I bring out Ditto, and pass. I'm a bit curious as to what
he's going to do. He puts a TR Drowzee on the bench and tries to use some
attack with small text. I say, "Can I see a translation please?" He
tries to
tell me that it has something to do with a bunch of stuff that can't
possibly be ture, so I tell him "I need to see a translation for you to use
that." He grumbles, and passes. I use his 30 damage attack and a PlusPower
for the KO. He sends out Drowzee and I kill him as well. Game.
Between Games: }:^( This game is a great example of why I hate people that
use Gym or Neo cards incorrectly/ without a translation sheet. Oh, well.
Alex from ROUND ONE comes back and challenges me...to a game of M:TG?? Well,
sure...why not? ;^)
BONUS-ROUND FOUR: Alex w/ Black Deck
Hmm...this is one of the guys that got me hooked on M:TG in the
first place. Last time we played, he beat me into the ground. This
time...ell, se for yourself. I start, and play an island, and summon a
Merfolk of the Pearl Trident. He goes, plays a Swamp, and passes. I go, play
a Forset, and tap bpt to summon a Storm Crow, and attack w/ Mewrfolk for 1.
He plays another Swamp, and passes. I play a Mountain, and attack with Crow
and Merfolk for 2.
A few turns later, I have 2 Strom Crows, 1 Merfolk Raider, and three
Merfolk of the Pearl Trident each armed with a Flight enchanment. I play
High Tide, Sunken City, and Giant Growth on the Raider to win the game. Yay!
Between Games: Hmm...my first game of M:TG not played against my
brother..and I win. That, and my fairly good Pokemon score makes for a good
day of playing.
