1 Here comes TR
Yes, this deck looks pretty bad (especially the trainers), but it held really well. I'd like to get some searches and pluspowers to kill off those pesky 70HP pokemon, but I don't have any, or the money to get them. But here is as much as I can remember, I'm doing this with my mind only.
Strategy-Get voltorb and Zapdos, put energy on zap, then next turn, put another energy on zap, buzzap, and kill kill kill!
Match 1-Buzzapdos VS grass deck
Easdy match, but my strategy was not the best
here. I got out a pika, with a voltorb out front. He has a TR grimer. He poison
gasses me to sleep, and I wake. I put energy on voltorb, speed-ball. Next turn,
his grimer puts me to sleep. I flip tails (my luck), but I evolve, put energy on
Pika, evolve Pika, buzzap, and kill his grimer with surprisethunder. After
softening up his bench, it was an easy match from there.
Win-1 Loss-0
Match 2-Buzzapdos VS Haymaker
I hate hays, but I happened to know the
strategy, cause I made the deck for that person. I forget the details, but I
don't get the buzzapdos combo, and scrape by, but his movie mewtwo and buzz just
killed me
Win-1 Loss-1
Match 3-VS raindance
First time I get the combo!!! He gets out a 2nd
turn blastoise, but I just woop him with Zapdos and DarkChu
Win-2 Loss-1
I used many different decks this league, and won a lot with my "Mucky Flowers", but lost a lot with my first deck that I made (a deck with Poliwrath and dragonite, but I didn't know the meaning of the word "archetype" then). I played a couple more matches with my buzzapdos, and won them, but I can't remember them. Now, your favorite, props and slops
Props to Travis, the gym leader (after the
league, he gave me, my brother, and the "hay kid" 10 stamps, a
computer error, and a prerelease dark gyarados EACH!)
Props to Scott (the hay kid, who's my good
friend, and has done really well as a newbie)
Props to my brother (he had a good day, too)
Slops to Waldenbooks (They don't have the eevees
or badges yet!!!)
Slops to Daniel (other gymleader, and Travis is
a newbie, and cause of him, we couldn't see Travis make a fool of himself alone)
Slops to Chris (He always copies my decks!!!)
Well, I'll do the "Justin Smith, and show how lightning decks work against other archetypes
Haymaker-if no hitmonchan, good. Just use the combo with pluspowers, or do bench damage with Raichu, then slaughter with zapdos. If hitmon, get out Zapdos ASAP!!! Use your fighting resistance to your advantage. Superpotions also cut back the normal haymaker's 40 damage attacks.
Raindance-any poke will work here, especially electrode, base raichu, and zapdos. For cuno, pluspower + thunder = dead bird. For gyarados, just wait for Magikarp, then gust and kill!
Stall-it's kind of hard to absorb 60 damage a turn, but the self damage can kill you. Just weaken those pokemon with zapdos and buzz, then bring out darkchu and fry his bench to death, but Stall is kind of hard to beat, unless you gust out the abras and kadabras before they evolve, then kill them.
Wiggly-Just work around the fact that both decks can do 60 on the second turn. If not, gust out Jiggly and cream him with zapdos or base raichu
ER decks-kind of hard. Don't buzzap. Just use buzz and voltorb(?) to get the upper hand. Don't be afraid to superpotion!
Sponge-easy. Only 70 HP, use the same strategy as the haymaker.
Wildfire-also easy. Kill moltres with thunder + Pluspower.
potpourii-same as hay
DarkVile-not too trainer dependant, just use thunder, and bye bye competition!
Cleaner-my worst enemy. Use arcanine's self damage to your advantage, then bring up a damageless zapdos with a pluspower. For the basics, thunder or electric shock will do nice.
Well, that's a wrap. C ya next time!
