Hi, it's Anonymous Fire again. Formerly known as Lord of the Dead Sea. I used
a Fire-type deck instead this time so I could see how much I could win. Just
like last time, I played at the Poke'mon League in Richmond,Va at
Books-A-Million on Broad St. The officials allowed the use of Japanese cards
not printed in English as well. Anyway, here's my deck:
27 Fire Energy
4 Charmander(3 Base Set,1 Team
Rocket)(dish it out & evolve)
3 Charmeleon (heavy
hitter)
1 Dark Charmeleon( possible
70-for-3 & 20-for-DCE)
3 Growlithe(Base Set)( Bring on
the Flare & evolve)
2 Arcanine(1 Base Set, 1
Promo)( Base Set Arcanine's there to hit hard & Promo Arcanine's there for
the end to win me the game sometimes, which it does)
2 Vulpix( Base Set)(Stinks bad
but Confuse Ray can really be nasty if successful in confusion)
1 Ninetales( FIRE BLAST RULES!)
2 Ponyta( 1 Base Set,1 Team
Rocket)( Base Set's there to rip those low HP basics apart, & Team
Rocket's there to defend the fort with the Base Set one while waiting on
Rapidash)
1 Rapidash( Jungle)(to really beat down the
opponent)
1 Cyndaquil( Neo Base Set) (see
translations below)( He's there to rip up those rascals on the opposing side)
4 Magmar( 1 Base Set, 3 Fossil) (Fossil's
there to be NASTY, & Base Set's there to rip 'em wide open)
1 Energy Retrieval( To get back some lost
energy for Arcanine(promo))
3 Energy Removal( To slow 'em down)
1 Lass( to really get 'em mad when they
have trainers & I don't)
2 Bill( for card advantage)
2 G.O.W(to lure 'em out & Knock 'em
out)
I won 2/3 rounds I played w/ that deck.
Round 1: My Burn Down vs. George's
mono-psychic deck
I met George right after I
checked in. He put up a good fight, but didn't win. He started w/ a Mr. Mime,
& I started w/ a Charmander( Base Set). On turn 1, I scratched that Mime.
He retreated & activated Invisible Wall. As a replacement, out comes a
Sabrina's Abra( see translations below the report). He immediately used Energy
Loop. I was able to stop it w/ Ember & Scratch. Next came a Base Set,
Mewtwo. I retreated Charmander after it was severely damaged by Mewtwo( even
after an Ember). I unleashed a Team Rocket Charmander & threw on a Fire
tail, but w/ Psychic, Mewtwo rendered me in danger, but I fire tailed it to
death. Next came a Promo Mewtwo that used its Energy Absorption attack. I used
2 Energy Removes to render it near helpless & evolved to Charmeleon after
attachng an Energy. After Energy- Removing each other(and Killing his Mimew/ a
Team Rocket Charmander after using Gust of wind before evolving), Mewtwo
brought Charmeleon to 20HP, I used 2 Slashes beforehand, but he KOed
Charmeleon quicker than quick. Next came Magmar( Base Set). I soon
Fire-Punched Mewtwo to death,& out came a Mime again(oh,no!!!!!!!!). I was
forced to retreat & replace w/ a Damaged Charmander. I scratched for
awhile, but I was soon finished. Next, out came a Fossil Magmar. I Smogged Mr.
Mime to death. During the time, I'd Lassed him & he used Sabrina's Eyes(
see translations) on me. Out came another Mewtwo(Base Set). He used a G.O.W.
to force my Growlithe into action. I began to fire Growlithe up. He decided to
use Switch & force out his Porygon(Team Rocket). I soon watched helplessly
as he used Confuse Ray & successfully confused Growlithe. Fortunately, I
had 1 prize left to take. So, instead of trying to Flare Porygon to
death(& kill myself), I quickly attached a Fire Energy & evolved into
a Promo Arcanine. I was successfully able to Flames of Rage him to death &
win.
Round 2: My Burn Down vs. ?'s Zap!
I had the advantage
because he gave me a choice as of which deck to fight. I could choose between
Devastation, Zap!, & Blackout. I picked Zap! so that I couldn't be easily
killed by water types. This was the shortest match I'd ever played today. He
had a Base Set Pikachu & I had a Base Set Charmander. I scratched Pikachu
& Pikachu Gnawed me. Next, I benched a couple Growlithes & used Ember.
The match was over. Pikachu was history & he had no basics. I'd won.
Round 3: My Burn Down vs. Lee's
Imitation Haymaker
I was defeated by Lee(a
Novice) in this fight mainly because a bigger kid was watching & gave him
hints. Anyway, here's how it went. In the active position he had a Lt. Surge's
Electabuzz( see translations). On the bench he had a Base Set Hitmonchan.
Tough luck already. I had out a Charmander & 2 Growlithes. Good combo,
ain't it? I scratched Lt. Surge's Electabuzz, but he used Electric Discharge
& flipped heads. Yikes! I evolved both Growlithes. Next I used Scratch
again. He unleashed Team Rocket's Zapdos( see translations) & KOed me w/
Plasma. I sent out a 2nd Charmander & immediately evolved it to Charmeleon.
I could do nothing, but had no choice. He used Plasma again. I quickly fired
Charmeleon up. Incoming Plasma. While here, incoming Flamethrower. He killed
himself & Charmeleon quickly with Electroburn. I sent out Charmander once
more as he unleashed Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. With this, he defeated Charmander,
Vulpix, & Growlithe. I was able to beat Hitmonchan, Lt. Surge's
Electabuzz, etc. Unfortunately, w/ another Team Rocket's Zapdos, he killed my
Promo Arcanine w/ the help of a S.E.R.
