This was the third tournament
i've been to. The other two i finished fourth with my psychic deck so I
thought it was time for a change. I never really considered a grass deck until
I read Tyler's Thought's on Gloom. Well enough about this let's get on to my
deck.
Gloomy Day
1 Scyther
1 Pinsir
4 Oddish (2R&2J)
3 Gloom
2 R Grimer
1 Dark Muk
3 Bellsprout
2 Weepinbell
3 Bulbasaur
2 Ivysaur
1 Venusaur
1 Lickitung
2 Bill
1 Pluspower
1 Super Potion
2 Potion
3 Full Heal
3 Switches
2 DCE
23 Grass Energy
This deck is really good because almost every move has an added affect
such as poison, confuse, sleep, or paralyze. The tournament is pretty vague
but i'll try to do my best in describing it. It was played best 2 out of 3
with a time limit of 30 minutes.
Round 1 vs Brian P. (water/fire deck)
Pretty
one sided. He started out with a Squirtle and Poliwag both times. I had a
Scyther out first in both games and cleared house with slash.
1-0
Round 2 vs Brian (psycic deck)
This
match is very vague. He had bad draws both games and I took advantage of that
with my Dark Muk. He had no bench left so I won.
2-0
Round 3 vs Tim (fire deck)
For
this match i used my psycic deck. His deck relied heavily on Charizard and
lucky me I got a Mr. Mime out right away. Beat him with my Mewtwo Movie Promo.
(God I love that card.)
3-0
Round 4 vs Mike (water deck)
This
was the battle of the only undefeated people. He drew Magikarp first and me an
oddish. He's poisoned and soon faints. Second match was pretty much the same
story.
4-0
Round 5 vs Mike (water deck)
After
waiting for two hours to play again Mike makes it back up the ladder and here
we go one more time. I used my psychic deck for this match. I one the first
round with the Dark Dragonite/Wigglytuff strategy. He won the next one, thanks
to a bad draw. Now we're neck and neck in the final match when he gets out a
Blastoise and Aerodactyl. He wastes me badly and I lose. Since that was my
first lost we had to play again but instead we just split up the money, I got
$15.
