I recently participated in a free play atmosphere at the local Toys-r-us. It had about 50 kids as a TV ad was shown that morning about the league. I only played 2 matches with the last taking practically forever. My name is Jill, but to the losers I have wiped the floor with, I am Chansey. (I beat one of 'em in 3 turns and he's still sore!) Here is the report.

I draw 2 gastlys, a search, a haunter, and energy.I win the toss and play my gastlys. He's got the dreaded --CHANSEY!!!! I search for a jiggly, retreat and lullaby, he wakes, but only attaches a lightning energy. I draw mewtwo. Attach energy to mewtwo and lullaby. He wakes, sends out a ditto and lullabies. I wake up and retreat for mewtwo. I energy absorb and pass. He does nothing. I psyburn and he forfeits. Though with 2 damageless chanseys, I don't see why.

As I'm waiting for points counting towards my promo Computer Error, I notice the Evil One. Her name is Amber. Last time I came to play, I played her twice, winning both and she vows that she will never stop playing until she beats me. It was like that episode of X-files where the evil doll says "I want to play". All I know is that she's a definite fruitcake. After receiving my points and avoiding the gaze of strange one, I am beckoned over to play Juan the Unbeatable(a.k.a. Pyramid Guy)

He is called Pyramid Guy because of the little pyramid he carries around filled with change(as damage counters). I fear him because he has brought an end to my reign; has made my fellow players stop respecting me. I was sure I would crash and burn fairly quickly. My opening hand was composed of gastlys( a little fuzzy there) He too had Chanseys. I Lassed early and made him give up a Comp search, a scoop up and sumthin else.(sheer joy!) The beginning of our battle is very fuzzy, but I do remember when he had an electabuzz. I cursed damage off of Chansey to Buzzy and Did the Wave (w/ full bench) for a KO. He sent out another Buzz, scooped Chansey, and Thunderpunched for 30. With 10 on himself, I easily KOed Buzz. Near the end, he oaked twice, had a full bench of Chan's and Buzzes, A powered Chansey. I had a mewtwo powered, and a Ditto powered. I had 1 prize, him 3 (Oh that was great!) He oaked again, did not discard his hand and drew the last 2 cards. I called him on it , but he said" You can draw what you have left, you aren't decked" as if the not-discarding the hand wasn't illegal enough. He KOed Mewtwo with Double Edge. I could have just sent out gastly and passed the turn to him for the decking thing, but I had waited so long to beat him. I sent out my ditto and Double Edged for the 1st win EVER against him. He sat for a moment and I got my points. When I came back, he reluctantly said " Good game" and shook my hand. Everyone was giving me high fives for the victory. My crown was restored! Juan was mad because as he stormed out of the store, the beeper went of but he shook his hand angrily at it. Not only had his record been broken, it was done by a GIRL!
