Hi. I have a submission for your great killer deck reports. It is a
Grass and Colorless deck.
---

Hey everyone, your friendly neighborhood Pokemon card player here to
give you a great deck. This deck has earned me some money (around
$100), and even a 1st edition Here Comes Team Rocket card. It is almost
undefeated. I go to Cards and Comics every week to play this deck, and
it has gone through some major changes before what it is now. What I
will describe is the last time I went to C&C. About 20-30 people
attended (very crowded) and the prize-- 6 T.R. 1st ed. Boosters. This
deck is a little pricey, but hey, who'd mind spending some money for so
much money in return?

Grassy Wassy

Pokemon (18)
4 Venonat (Jungle)   (Great Starter)
3 Venomoth (Jungle)  (One of the best grass pokemon)
3 Bulbasaur (Regular)(Another great starter)
2 Venusaur (Regular) (For those late game heavy hits)
2 Clefairy (Regular) (Pretty useless, here only for Clefable)
2 Clefable (Jungle)  (All out great pokemon. Can imitate any attack)

Trainers (24)
4 Bill            (Of course. Must have 4 of these)
3 Switch          (In case of emergencies)
3 Gust Of Wind    (Emergencies, again)
3 Pokemon Breeder (For a quick Venusaur without hassling with Ivysaur)
2 Plus Power      (For those quick kills)
3 Professor Oak   (For the "Oh geez, this hand sucks")
2 Pokemon Trader  (Like a Computer Search, just without the discarding)
4 Potion          (Mainly to keep that Venusaur and Venomoth out there)

Energies (20)
18 Grass Energies
2 Double Colorless Energies

Okay, now your first response would be "Hey, this deck sucks!" But
believe me, it doesn't. Venonat will usually be your starter, and
second or third turn you'll probably get a Venomoth. He's no heavy
hitter, but his Poison and Confuse does wonders. Your opponent will
kill their pokemon themselves. Venusaur is a great pokemon to keep on
your bench until you really need him. He's a heavy hitter, and he
usually stays in there a while. And Clefable is just plain fun. Your
poor little opponent is powering up their Gyrados, and you kill it with
a "stupid" Clefable in 2 turns. Now here is what happened in my last
tourney-

Round 1 (ding ding ding) Me vs. Mr. Fighting (Josh)

I almost felt sorry for this guy. Either his deck stunk, or he just had
a major dose of bad luck. I won the toss, and it turns out he had a
Sandshrew. Too bad for him, since Sandshrew is weak against grass. I
slapped on an energy on my active Venonat and paralyzed him. He did not
have any pokemon on his bench, so next turn I KO'd his Sandshrew and
won. Easy enough!

Round 2 (ding ding ding) Me vs. Ms. Fighting (Vicky)

Pretty much the same thing happened, except in 1 turn. Won the toss
again. Flip cards over, Diglett and Venonat. I attached an energy, put
down a Plus Power, and BAM! The battle was over. 2-0, not bad.

Round 3 (ding ding ding) Me vs. Mr. Haymaker (Kenneth)

This guy wasn't too much of a challenge. I got a Venomoth out early and
whooped his butt. He KO'd Venomoth, but I sent out Clefable and
completely destroyed all of his Pokemon. Good thing he didn't get any
fire pokemon out in time. I won again.

Round 4 (ding ding ding) Me vs. Mr. Tough Fire Dude (Samuel)

This was the first challenge I had in this tournament. I started off on
the wrong foot from the start. I lost the toss, and all I had for my
basic pokemon was a little clefairy. Him? He had a fossil Magmar. Fire
deck? Bad news for me. He attached energy, used Smokescreen for 10.
Drew a card- Venomoth. Pretty useless with only Clefairy out. I
attached a Grass Energy to Clefairy and used Sing. Too bad for me, he
woke up. Went ahead and attached energy and used Smog. He flipped for
poison- Tails! Phew. I almost lost there. Drew a card- Venonat. At
least I have a basic Pokemon on bench now. I had a Double Colorless in
my hand, but I decided to let Clefairy use sing, so I could make way
for Venomoth. I attached a Grass on Venonat and used Sing with
Clefairy. He flipped to see if he woke up-- Tails! It seemed like my
luck was getting better! But then he played a Full Heal and killed me
with smog. I sent out Venonat. I drew a card, and what do ya know! Its
a Clefable. One turn too late. Oh well. I attached energy and evolved
Venonat, and used Venomoth's Powder attack. Tails, again. Too bad. Next
turn he layed down a Vulpix and attached energy to it. He used Smog on
me. He got a Heads for poison, so I put 5 counters onto Venomoth. Drew
a card- Bill. Played it and got a Gust of Wind and another Bill. Played
that Bill and got a Switch and a Bulbasaur. What luck! I put down
Bulbasaur and retreated Venomoth (free retreat). Then I used switch to
put Venomoth back out, no longer poisoned. Attached energy to Bulbasaur
and used my Gust to bring out Vulpix. Used Powder and got a Heads. 10
damage to Vulpix, plus confused and poisoned! Next turn, he put down
another Magmar (the joy). Played another Fire on Vulpix and tried to
use Confuse ray- failed! At the end of his turn, Vulpix was KO'd
(poison and missed hit). I took my prize, and it was a Grass energy. I
was about to draw when the C&C guy called "Time!" It turned out to be a
tie. Well, at least I didn't lose!

Semi-Finals (ding ding ding) Me. vs. Another Haymaker (Kyle)

I have no idea how this guy got to the semi-finals. His deck lacked all
the necessary elements- Bills, Oaks, and good Pokemon. For one thing,
his haymaker was awful since he didn't have any fire pokemon. He played
a Scyther and a Buzz. Took them both down easy with my Clefable. See ya
later, sucker!

Finals (drum roll, please)  Me vs. Tuff guy (Ben)

This guy definately deserved to get to the finals.
He was playing a mono psychic wiggly. I got out a Venomoth after he
killed my Bulbasaur (*sob*). I managed to get a Heads for powder, and
he pretty much killed his Wiggly himself- but not before doing 40
damage to me (he had 1 Clefairy Doll, 1 Wiggly, and 1 Jiggly on his
bench).
He pushed out Wiggly. He attached energy, but was 1 too short. I drew
Bulbasaur- lucky for me, since I had a Breeder and Venusaur in my hand.
Immediately slapped on energy to Bulbasaur, and Confused + Poisoned his
Wiggly. By now a whole bunch of people were gathered around us,
watching and making some smart-alek comments too. He attached energy to
Wiggly and attacked-- Fail! Woo hoo! I evolved Bulbasaur on my next
turn, and attached a Grass. I used Venusaur's Energy Trans to move the
2 energies on to Venusaur. I retreated Venomoth (I love that free
retreat) and sent out my heavy hitter. Good bye, good riddance.
Wigglytuff was finally gone. Thats what I thought, anyway. He evolved
his Jiggly to have a fully powered up Wigglytuff. Geez, those things
are irritating. By now he had put down a 2 gastly and 1 Mew, and 1
Abra. 5 Pokemon on bench for him. He used his Attack and did 60 to me
(boo hoo). 1 prize left. I needed to draw a Plus Power (I had one in
hand). I drew, and got an Oak. Good enough. Attached Plus Power, then
played Oak. And get this- I got a Plus Power in the next 7 cards I
drew! I won the tournament!

Hey, he got 10 bucks, so what was he complaining about? Well, I got a
1st ed. Dark Charizard in 1 of the packs!

This is Zain, signing out.
