This is my new ULTRA RAINDANCE deck. It seems the same, but has two major
improvements. I include four Goop Gases to shut down Mime, the Raindance killer.
Plus, it has 5 Stage 2's, so it satisfies the Brock Challenge...
The Deck:
Pokemon (18)-
2x Squirtle (Base)
2x Squirtle (Rocket; A Mime Killer)
3x Blastoise (Base)
2x Blastoise (Rocket)
4x Magikarp (Rocket; Future Site of a Gyarados)
3x Gyarados (Base)
2x Gyarados (Rocket)
Trainers (21)-
4x Breeder
2x Bill
3x Oak
4x Gust of Wind
4x Goop Gas Attack
4x Energy Retrieval
Energy (21)-
17x Water Energy
4x DCE
The first wierd thing about this deck is the REVERSE pyramid of evolution; trust
me, it works. The second is the low energy count; it too works. The last is Goop
Gas, which shuts down powers, yet the deck is centered around Rain Dance.
However, it kills those Mimes, as long as it's the last thing you do before you
attack. Enjoy!
(This took place @ a Toys "R" Us League in Natick MA Tuesday night @
5:00)
Match 1 (Mono-Psy)
I started out with the dream hand (for a Mime deck): 2 Rocket Squirtle, 1
Breeder, 1 Rocket 'Toise, 1 Oak, 1 DCE, and 1 Energy. He, much to my delight,
started with 3 Mimes and a MP Mewtwo, with a Mime active. I went first, and drew
a Goop! I played the DCE, and did 20 to Mime, he attached an energy to a benched
Mime. I drew a Breeder, attached my energy, and KOed his Mime. Prize was
Magikarp. He brought out the next Mime, attached an energy, and did 10 to
Squirtle. I drew a Base 'Toise, breedered my active to Rocket and Benched to
Basic. I played Goop, and Rocket Tackled his Mime. Prize was a 'Toise (Base).
And I flipped heads. He brought out Mewtwo, and Absorbed for a total of 3
energies. I drew an energy, played it on my active, and Oaked. I drew a few
energies, a Gyarados, a Bill, and a Goop. I Rain danced 3 energies onto my
active, evolved 'Karp, and Hydro Cannoned for 70, KOing Mewtwo. Prize was a
Bill. He brought out Mime and did nothing. I drew, played Goop, and Hydroc!
!
annoned Mime for a win.
(PS: This match was so clear because it was such a thrill to trash a Mime deck
with a Rain Dance)
Match 2 (Mono-Fire)
I started with a Rocket Squirtle, a DCE, and junk. But, he started with a Rocket
Charmander (40 HP). I won the flip, attached the DCE to Squirtle, and hit him
for 40 (weak). Quick win.
Match 3 (Mono-Grass)
This time I started with a 'Karp, a Squritle, a Breeder, a Base 'Toise and 3
Energy. He won the flip, and started with a lone Scyther. He attached a Grass,
and passed. I attached a water to 'Karp, and Flopped. He attached another grass,
and Swords Danced. I drew a Rocket Gyarados (YES!!!), evolved to Gyarados,
breedered to 'Toise, and rain danced 2 more energies onto Gyarados. I Ice Beamed
w/ out Paralysis. He KOed me with slash (120 Damage; ouch!) but I managed to
flip heads with Gyarados's power, KOing his only Poké for a win.
Match 4 (Hay)
This was horrible. I started with a lone 'Karp, and he with an army of Buzzes.
He was able to get a PlusPower, and win on the first turn. OW!!!!
Record 3-1
