My name is Lord of the Dead Sea. I
participated in the Pokemon League held at Books-A-Million on Broad Street in
Richmond,Virginia. The event was held on Saturday May 6th.About 100 people
participated. I call my deck Turbo Rain Dance, although it doesn't really have
enough Blastoise to warrant a Rain Dance, but who cares?Anyway here's the deck:
28 Water Energy
3 Magikarp(2 Base Set,1 Team Rocket)
1 Gyarados
1 Dark Gyarados
1 Lapras(Southern Islands)(the place allows Japanese cards not
printed in English)(See translations at bottom of report)
2 Seel
1 Dewgong
3 Squirtle(Base set)
2 Wartortle(Base Set)
1 Blastoise(Base Set)
2 Horsea
1 Seadra
2 Eevee(Jungle)
1 Vaporeon(Jungle)
1 Articuno(Fossil)
1 Pokemon Breeder
3 Energy Search
2 Poke' Ball
2 Bill
1 Gust of Wind
1 Prof. Oak
This deck won me 2 out of 3 games that I
played.The 1st Round I played against someone named Alan.His mono-psychic deck
put up an Ok fight, but did pretty bad.He threw 4 Base Set Mewtwo & 4
Jungle Mr.Mime on me,with the help of the Abra family.Iused my Articuno's
Freeze Dry to take away 1/2 of its HP,but a Psychic attack that he did ahead
of time brought 30 damage to me.My Articuno easily disposed of that
Mewtwo, while he evolved his Kadabra into Alakazam.I used Articuno's Blizzard
but hurt the Vaporeon I had on my Bench. He then used a Poke'mon Center &
began to power up Alakazam while he Benched a Mr.Mime.I threw out a
Blizzard & a Freeze Dry to beat Alakazam(after he used Devolution Spray to
turn it back to Kadabra) & take my 2nd prize. When he sent out an uncharged
Mr. Mime with an active invisible wall power,I had no choice but to retreat
& send out a Seel(charged) that was on my Bench. After four Headbutt
Attacks,Mr. Mime remained uncharged & sunk to defeat. With another Base Set
Mewtwo,I retreated Seel & sent Articuno back out to easily defeat
it.Articuno's Blizzard also hurt his other Mr. Mime with 10 damage. When he
sent out Mr. Mime,I used a Freeze Dry to finish it.He then sent out yet
another Base Set Mewtwo, and with three Barrier attacks used by it,I was
getting red hot.Once he ran out of Energies to use Barrier,I brought him to
10HP using Blizzard.Next turn ,I used my G.O.W. to force his Team Rocket
Slowpoke that he had on his Bench into action before he could evolve to Dark
Slowbro & used Blizzard to destroy it.In the end,I won my last prize
against Mewtwo witha Blizzard.
The 2nd round I played against my brother & his Electric/Psychic/Grass
Deck.I had an Eevee out that I immediately evolved to Vaporeon on turn 2,which
easily made dispose of his Venonat,Aerodactyl,Muk,& Rattata. It nearly
defeated his Raticate, but he realized that with no Energies left to use in his
hand, there was no way he could win & forfeited the match, making me the
winner.
The 3rd & final round was up against Kyle & his Fighting/Psychic
deck.I must say this was a total disaster.I had an Eevee out that his Machoke
beat with a Karate Chop. All I had left was a Seel, that was easily beaten
by Machoke's Submission.I plan on making some massive improvements to this
deck.
