Deck Name: X-Terminator v1.8 (Psychic)
Trainer: SubMinus
Location: Dreamlands
Area: Trondheim, Norway
Date: Friday, 20 October 2000
Attendance: 8
I just came back from a tournament, and I decided to write a KDR about it. I
took my latest
version of the X-Terminator, a deck featuring Gengar and Promo Mewtwo. Three of
my
friends were supposed to come too, but two had to cancel. In the end it was just
me and
Eric, he bringing his newly made Wildfire. Well. It was set up as a pyramid
tournament,
and if you lost once, you were out. No Japanese cards, and the regular 6 prizes.
On with the deck!
X-TERMINATOR:
Pokémon(18):
4 Gastly(Fossil, of course)
2 Haunter(Fossil)
3 Gengar
4 Mewtwo(Promo)
3 Scyther
2 Ditto
Trainers(22):
4 Bill
3 Professor Oak
3 Computer Search
2 Item Finder
3 Gust of Wind
3 PlusPower
2 Pokémon Center
2 Pokémon Breeder
Energy(20):
16 Psychic Energy
4 Double Colorless Energy
ROUND 1
X-Terminator Vs. ??? with Haymaker
Oh, well. I started with active Scyther, and benched Mewtwo and Gastly. The rest
of my hand consisted of Gengar, Item Finder and 2 Psychic Energy. He started
with active Scyther, benched Buzz and Hitmo. He flipped the coin. Vileplume
coins tend to land Tails, so I called Tails. Heads. Dang. He retreated Scyther,
sent out Electabuzz and attached a Lightning. No paralysis. I drew an energy and
attached it to Mewtwo, after sending it out instead of Scyther. I Item Found an
Item Finder. He argued, but the judge confirmed that I could. I energy absorbed.
His turn. He attached a fighting to Buzz and Thunderpunched. I told ya, they
land on tails. I drew: A Gust of Wind. YESSS!!!!!!!!!!! You do the math, Dead
Hitmo, Buzz, and Scyther. Man, I love it when those things happen.
My score: 1-0-0
BETWEEN MATCHES:
I bought some magazines and comics, including Pojo`s(he he).
ROUND 2
X-Terminator vs. Carl with Raindance
I lost my notes for this match, so I can`t remember much. I remember that he had
me by the ba... he had me down most of the game(although Ditto sure gave
Articuno a whooping with the Double Colorless Energy!), but, alas, he decked.
Typical Raindance.
My score: 2-0-0
BETWEEN MATCHES:
Not much happened. It was a long match, so we didn`t have much time.
ROUND 3:
X-Terminator vs. Peter with Anti-Retreat deck
Oh, I know this guy. He has a deck with Dark Muk, Dark Dugtrio and Nidoking,
making me afraid to retreat, and even more afraid not to! BUT! Notice the fact
that this is a Psychic deck.
Both the Nidoes and Grimer/Muk are weak to: Exactly! I got a 2nd Turn Gengar,
although I didn`t see much to Mew2. His Nidoking at least had the speed to toxic
Gengar, making him go down for the count. Oh no. Scyther cut straight through
Dark Dugtrio, and after that Ditto and a Nidorino battled for a while, seeing as
none of us could get enough energy. Yup. Mewtwo still cleaned up, sending us
straight to the finals!
BETWEEN MATCHES:
Eric had been savagely beaten by a Haymaker, the one that was meeting me in...
THE FINALS:
X-Terminator vs. Anders with Haymaker
I`ve gotta tell ya: He is GOOD. I had a poor hand, a Gastly, two Bills, and 5
Psychic energies. I was disappointed until I saw his only basic: Hitmonchan. I
licked, no paralysis, he attached a fighting, I billed twice, got a
breeder and Gengar, attached another psychic and licked, he attached ANOTHER
fighting, I bred to Gengar and Dark Minded. WHOOP-WHOOP!!!
THE PRIZE:
1st Edition Rocket's Scyther+ 7 Boosters, 1 from each set.
PROPS AND SLOPS
Props to everyone I battled for being good losers
Props to Eric for going so far
Props to me for winning
Props to PoJo for being the best Poke-site
Props to Dreamlands for giving so good prizes
No slops today- can't think of any
