About 15 contestants

First of all, this deck is going to be dismantled, taken apart, during
the next week since I like to try something new each time. It gets boring
when you play the same deck over and over or playing an archetype deck. I got
the Dewgong line over a recent trade so I decided to give it shot.
The name 'Dragoon Lagoon' is from an episode in Dragon Tales. Max and Emmy
visited a giant bog with Ord, Cassie, Zak and Weezie. Wait, let's not get off
track here on Pokémon…
So, without farther ado (Probably misspelled, even though I'm in the
seventh grade)…

Dragoon Lagoon
(Dragon Overgrowth)

Pokémons (18)

3x Erika's Dratini (Die Haymaker, die!)
1x Erika's Dragonair (Just in case if Dratini can't hold it much longer)
3x Erika's Oddish Lv. 15 (Attack + Potion)
2x Erika's Gloom Lv. 24 (Good attacks)
1x Erika's Gloom Lv. 28 (Good attacks if Celadon Gym is in play)
2x Seel (Nice Basic with solid attack)
2x Dewgong (Gyarados II, uncommon and better basic stage)
2x Scyther (Run! It's the Y2K bug!)
1x Ditto (Funny Gooze with face that doesn't light up)
1x Mirutanku (Better than Lickitung, the Chansey cow) [Neo Pokémon,
translation below]

Trainers (22)

3x Bill (All right! $32,000!)
2x Professor Oak (I've got it! I won a million dollars!)
2x Gust of Wind (Come here, Magikarpy karpy)
2x Energy Removal (Technical difficulty)
2x Plus Power (Ultimate destroyer)
2x Erika's Maids (They follow her everywhere)
2x Lt. Surge's Treaty (Shake hands with Electabuzz? Ouch!)
1x Pokémon Trader (Butterfree for Raticate? I don't know)
1x Secret Mission (Okay, he's got a Blastoise in his hand! Kill the
Wartortle, Raichu!)
1x Good Manners (Bow and you got another Basic)
1x Team Rocket's Sneak Attack (Very sneaky)
1x Celadon City Gym (Works well with Gloom Lv. 28 or your opponent is
allergic to flowers)
1x Golden Nut (Greatest potion of them all) [Neo card, translation below]
1x Pokémon Swap (Switch and Gust, combine!) [Neo card, translation below]

Energy (20)

9x Grass Energy
8x Water Energy
2x Double Colorless Energy
1x Potion Energy

Mirutanku                                   70HP
Basic Pokémon                                   Colorless

C   Miruku's Milk:
Flip two coins. For each heads, take two damage counters off Mirutanku.

CCC Body Slam:                              20
Flip a coin. If heads, the defending Pokémon
    Is now paralyzed.

Weakness: Ground
Resistance: Psychic
Retreat Cost: CC

Golden Nut (Pokémon's? couldn't read the last part)

Attach this card to 1 of your Pokémon that does not have a Pokémon Item
already attached to it. If this Pokémon is knocked out, discard this card. At
the end of any turn, if this Pokémon has 4 or more damage counters on it,
discard this card and remove 4 of them.

Pokémon Swap

First, your opponent chooses one of your benched Pokémons and switches it
with the active. Then you choose one of your opponent's benched Pokémons and
switch it with his or hers active. (Something like a Switch and Gust in one)

It turns out in all of my matches that Dewgong barely even got on board
before winning. The first three were played with Misty's Challenge, letting
the opponent draw nine cards at the beginning, and the last four were played
with Lt. Surge's Challenge, letting the opponent have only four prizes.
Fortunately or unfortunately, all of the matches were played with three
prizes, except for Lt. Surge's Challenge, when the opponent has two prizes.
It's fair since 6/4 equals 3/2. Ratios and such; math always gives me a
headache worse than Psyduck's.

Round 1 vs. Scott with Psycho Killer deck (Psychic)

He won the coin flip and started with Drowzee as active and Nintendo Power
Mewtwo on bench. I had a Scyther active and Erika's Dratini benched. He
pounded for ten. I drew, got a Ditto, benched it, used Lt. Surge's Treaty and
Scott accepted and energized Scyther. I figure I would Swords Dance and kill
the Drowzee in one shot. On his turn, he gusted out Dratini, evolved Drowzee
into Dark Hypno and forgot Dratini have a resistance. I got a Erika's Oddish
and benched it and answered by using gust to gust out Mewtwo and Tail Strike
with heads. Scott benched a Jigglypuff, attached energy to Mewtwo and used
Telekinesis on Ditto. I got another Erika's Dratini and benched it. Evolved
active Dratini into Erika's Dragonair and Blizzard Mewtwo with tails. Hypno
was active and Scott attached another energy, used Bench Manipulation. It
turns out I had to flip and I'm never good with coin flips or dice throws.
All heads and that left Erika's Dragonair barely alive. I considered and
retreated Dragonair. Erika's Dratini was active and I slapped down a DCE and
did 30. Scott used Bench Manipulation again and I rolled the dices for 60
minus 30 for resistance. I realized that Ditto could kill so I retreated
Dratini, energized Ditto and used Psypunch for 40 and won the game.

1-0

Round 2 vs. Monica with Pikachu Revolts deck (Psychic/Electric)

If you read my Erika's Laughter deck, then you should know why Monica
named her deck 'Pikachu Revolts'. Anyway, I lost on the coin flip and started
with Mirutanku as active, Seel and Erika's Dratini as bench. She had a lot of
basics and started with Sabrina's Mr. Mime, Sabrina's Slowpoke, Jynx,
Sabrina's Abra and Sabrina's Gastly on bench. I stalled with Mirutanku until
Seel evolved into Dewgong with two water energies. Monica gusted out Dewgong
since she can't do anything with Mr. Mime and used Slap plus Plus Power for
30. I think she would retreat Mr. Mime next turn and send out Jynx using
Meditate to win the game. I used Lt. Surge's Treaty twice, both she accepted,
and attached an energy to Dewgong and used Aurora Beam to kill the Mime.

2-0

Round 3 vs. little girl with Erika deck (Grass)

She bought an Erika deck and made some modification to it with her dad. I
won the coin flip and started with Erika's Dratini and Seel benched because
all I had were grass energies. She started with Erika's Bellsprout and
Erika's Tangela and Erika's Oddish benched. I attached grass energy to
Dratini and passed. She used Bellsprout's Poison Vine and got tails. I
attached another energy, used Tail Strike and got tails. She energized
Bellsprout again and used Vine Whip. I could have told her that she should
have used Poison Vine again or evolve it into Erika's Weepinbell Lv. 30
version but something in my brain told me not to. I evolved Dratini into
Dragonair by using Erika's Maids, and used Blizzard with heads. She sent out
Erika's Oddish and used Blot. I started energizing Erika's Oddish on the
bench and used Blizzard with heads. Then three more times to knockout Oddish
and Tangela.

3-0

Between Matches:

I won Misty's Challenge and my second Computer Error at the same time. It
took the store assistant ten minutes to find the sticker and the card from
about twenty boxes.
Then a really weird thing happened. Five boys, my age more or less,
passed the front of the store and waved a big purple sign that said 'Vote no
on Measure 9'. I recognized one of them as Kyle, who sits across from me in
school. Guess he was not surprised to see me in Pokémon League ever since I
brought the Pokémon Box. I called out his name and he stopped, turned, looked
at me, made a weird face, and continued.

Round 4 vs. kid with Flying Terrors deck (Birds, Psychic/Electric)

This was a short match. I got a turn three Erika's Gloom Lv. 28 out with
Celadon Gym and a hand full of energies. I kept on using Vile Smell, KO'ing a
Rocket Zapdos, Spearow and Jungle Pikachu. Celadon Gym really helped and the
dice was somewhat jinxed on tails.

4-0

Round 5 vs. high school/college guy with Misty's Pikachu (Electric/Water)

Okay, this match was a real challenge since that guy is older with a
better mind than any other kid I've met. I'm a little fuzzy on the match
since I forgot to write much down. I won the coin flip, started with Dratini,
evolved it sometime later and used Take Away on his annoying Misty's
Poliwhirl. Then it was Ditto vs. Misty's Seadra and Seadra won, due to a
Super Potion. Lt. Surge's Pikachu fried my Seel afterwards and he won the
battle.

4-1

Round 6 vs. kid with Dead Weeds deck (Grass)

He borrowed the deck from his brother and started with the worst Pokémon
in the whole deck: Nidoran male. I started with two Seels and a hand full of
grass energies. I attached one to the active Seel and he asked why because
Seel takes water energies. He manages to get one heads on Horn Hazard. Two
turns later, I got a Scyther, retreated Seel and started powering Scyther. I
slapped down Golden Nut somewhere and killed Nidoran. He sends out Zubat and
used Bite with Plus Power, doing 30. I discarded Golden Nut and Scyther's
health returned to 50. I used Plus Power and slashed the poor Zubat dead. He
ran out of basics.

5-1

Round 7 vs. kid with Jiggling Wigglytuff deck (Colorless plus something else)

I never got to know the other color since my Scyther took out the lone
Jigglypuff on turn two.

6-1
