My deck this time is powered by
Electric element Pokemon, some Psychic element Pokemon, and some
Cololress types as well. The strategy behind this deck is to slow down
your opponent by playing as many Rocket's Sneak Attack as you can and
then use Item Finder and/or Slowpoke's Scavenge attack to retrieve Rocket's
Sneak Attack and use it again and again. While you're doing that, this
deck is also built for a quick attack. Electabuzz and Pikachu can do
that on the first turn, and 10 Electric Energy is more then enough to power
them (since Pikachu uses Colorless Energy (the translation is below)).
Well, here is my deck.
Electric Shock Station
4 (Basic) Electabuzz
2 (Foil) Lt. Surge's Electabuzz
2 (40HP) Lt. Surge's Pikachu
3 (Fossil) Slowpoke
4 Energy Removal
2 Energy Flow
2 Energy Search
4 Rocket's Sneak Attack
2 Here Comes Team Rocket
3 Bill
2 Professor Oak
4 PlusPower
4 Item Finder
2 Super Energy Removal
2 Double Colorless Energy
8 Psychic Energy
10 Electric Energy
First Battle vs Andy (Everything Deck)
Andy's deck is weird, since it uses 5 different
types of Pokemon, and very few Energy. so, I should have the advantage.
I went first with Pika to his Charmander (base set) and he benched a (base
set) Gastly (chuckle). I "Oaked" twice in the first turn, and
finally got 2 PlusPowers and a DCE attached. I used Quick Attack and got
heads for the KO. My prize was a Slowpoke. He sent out Gastly,
evolved it into a (base set) Haunter (still laughing), and passed. I
benched the Slowpoke and laid down a Psychic Energy on it. I Quick
Attack"ed" Haunter for 30. Next turn I "Billed"
twice, laid down 2 PlusPowers on Pika, and Quick Attack"ed" him for
30 and won.
Second Battle vs Jean (Gumshoe Deck)
Gumshoe is a good deck, but it's unpopular, so
it's to her advantage. Luckily, I went first with 2 base set Buzzes, but
she placed a movie promo Articuno and benched an Erika's Jigglypuff, a
Nintendo Power promo Mewtwo, and a Jungle Meowth. I Thundershock"ed"
Articuno plus paralysis. She attached a Double Colorless to Meowth and
passed. I attached Psychic Energy to Buzz and Thunderpunch"ed"
worth 40 damage. She played Scoop Up and placed Meowth active.
Then she evolved Meowth into Persian, attached Water Energy to it, and
Pounc"ed" worth 30. I used Rocket's Sneak Attack 3 times in
the next 4 turns, after she KO'd both buzzes I placed a Slowpoke and
Scaveng"ed" for Rocket's Sneak Attack. I stalled her until I
got a Surge's Buzz charged up and Discharg"ed" worth 90 damage and
then used a base set buzz to draw the rest of the prizes.
I spent the rest of the time trading and I bought
a base set booster pack (a got a Venusaur).
