Cards and Comics (I think, because it was in German)
August 19, 2000
About 20 kids. Not all in the tourney.
Hi all you pokemon fans out there, here is a great deck for you to
try. It will make your opponent wish there was a real power outage so
he could dig into his or her deck to try and find a way to beat you.
This was a 4 round tourney for 10 packs of American, German, or
Japanese cards from any set, and a German Starter Deck. Before the
tourney I said to myself that if I won, I would take 3 German Base Set,
3 Japanese Neo, and 2 American Team Rocket and 2 Base Set. There were
only 12 people in the tourney including me. Here is the deck that will
make your opponent say mommy:

Here is the blow by blow account of this very cool tourney.
Rd 1. Me vs a kid with super slow Raindance (this kid had no Breeders in
his deck. This would have been okay if he hadn't had 12 in his
collection)
To start off with, I drew a hand of Electabuzz, 4 Electric energy, the
Jungle rat (Pikachu), and a Proffessor Oak. I played 'Buzz as my
starter and Pikachu on the bench. I Thundershocked for 20 to his
Squirtle and got heads. He played a Water Energy on his benched TR
Magikarp. I played another energy on Electabuzz and evolved my pika
into Dark Raichu which I had just drawn. I then Thundershocked for the
K.O. He played his last pokemon in Magikarp, and attacked for 10
damage. I Thunderpunch for the win.
Record 1-0
Between Matches: I helped the kid make his Raindance so that it had
Pokemon Breeders.
4 Squirtles
3 Wartortles
4 Base B-Toise
3 TR Magikarps
2 Gyrados
3 Lapras
Trainers
4 Energy Removal
3 Super Energy Removal
2 Professer Oaks
3 Item Finders
4 Pokemon Breeders
2 Computer Searches

23 Water
Rd 2. Me vs a kid with classic Haymaker
All I have to say is Scyther, DCE, 1 Electric energy knocked out 6
prizes.
Between Matches: I bought 2 packs of American 1st edition Team Rocket
and got a non-holo Dark Charizard and a holo Dark Blastoise. I traded
both in for 12 packs of Neo 2. The highlights from those were 2 Neo
version of Dark Raichu, Charizard, and Scyther's evolution.
Rd 3. Me vs a bye.
Between Matches: I got laughed at buy the store champ who was winning
in the game whose winnner would face me. He was so cocky because he
thought a 4 colored energy deck was bad. I tried to explain that this
was an Electric/Fighting and that colorless pokemon can use any energy
and so can Scyther, so that besides the 1 DCE, I only had 2 Energy
types.
Rd. 4=finals Me vs cocky kid who was supposed to be the best in store.
I thought something was weird because I had seen him get the exact
same starting hand in all 3 of his previous matches. I then accused him
of cheating. The store owner came over, talked to the kids other
opponents and they all said each time he got 1 Squirtle, 1 Breeder, 1
Blastoise, and 4 Water Energy. He was then kicked out of the tourney
and banned from all other tourneys at the store. The kid then CURSED
OUT THE MANAGER IN GERMAN and got kicked out of the store. So then
after about 30 min. I was declared the winner.
This was a very weird tourney. The store manager felt so sorry for all
the kids opponents, he gave them each 1 booster of their choice and
their $1.00 entrance fee. I think that kid had just lost some friends.
In my American Boosters, I got a Venusaur, Scoop Up, holo Dark
Blastoise, and holo Dark Raichu. In the German I got a Raichu,
Electrode, and an Imposter Proffessor Oak. In the Japanese Neo packs I
got Pichu, Onix's evolution, Bubbi (Magmars Pre-evolution), Togiepie's
evolution, Lugia, and Electabuzz's Pre-evolution which I think in
Eleckiddo.
Props to first kid for letting me help him with his deck and not being
stubborn
Props to my dad for taking me to Germany
Props to my dad for paying my tourney entrance fee
Props to Raichu, Scyther, Electabuzz, Hitmonchan, and Pikachu for being
in my deck.
