If you are wondering why there has been no more
reports from me, It's because, well, My results have
NOT been great. Nidogod-ly (made a mistake with the
name in my 1st report) was a complete failure and I
had not had the cards to build my dream deck, the
raindance.
I do feel that I learned something, though, from my
time without the cards to build up-to-par decks. That
was that you can do quite well with oddballs, if you
play your cards right. I feel this is true because
people metagame against the "good" decks, and this
gives them a weakness to a non-conventional deck.
Raindance is a very un-common deck around here,
because people have not found it very effective with
all the gaymakers (I use this term in humour, not in
envy or scorn)around, which are probably faster and
much more reliable. (Wigglytuff is included in context
of hay, please remember) Anyway, here is my decklist.
Geez, that was a load of <insert expletive here>

I was at BOGC at about noon, so I ate some lunch, and
rented out a computer for about 1 hour. I bought some
magic cards for a new deck I'm trying out (so fun to
search your opponent's hand, deck and play area for a
type of land a remove it all from play) and modified
my deck into what you see here. at 1:30, everyone was
there and had signed up for the tournament. Now for
the rounds (NB - rounds are best out of 3 games)
Round 1: RDDU vs. dark charizard deck
game 1- 2nd turn blastoise vs. a fire deck. use your
head, for god's sake.
game 2- Just for fun I purposely ran out of cards, but
before the end of my turn. The kid thought I lost, so
we had to get a judge to give a ruling. (sigh)
for the rest see the game before. he never saw his
chars the entire time.
Round record: 1-0-0 Game record: 2-0-0
Round 2: RDDU vs. my friend luke hill with viagra
game 1- I usually get beat by luke, so this is a BIG
upset. he is playing for $50AUS store credit with
justin ellis, former no. 1 ranked australian player.
If he had won the tourney, or had done better than
justin, the credit would be his. Anyway, This was
close. we were both down to the last few prizes, But I
used gusts to kill some wiggs before they were fully
pumped.
game 2- I am lassed, and do the wave finishes me and
my energyless articunos.
game 3- This is tense. It comes down to the wire. my
articuno killed both a ditto and a tuff, but both of
us were down to our last cards and prizes. At the very
end, I have 5 cards in my deck and my toise is up
against 2 scythers. I kill the first with a
pluspowered pump, then itemfinder for another next
turn. luke has no more basics, and I win.
Round record: 2-0-0 Game record: 4-1-0
Round 3: vs. Justin Ellis with mono-psy aero-potpourri
game 1- justin gets screwed because all his good cards
are at the bottom of his deck, and I snuck away a
lass. I blizzard a fossil and MP mewtwo for the win. I
also recovered from a lass by topdecking oak.
game 2- I get lassed, and he psyburns me to my death.
not good.
game 3- I sneak his lass, and It looks good for me.
then he lasses. It's down to the wire again, but I
manage to prevail. Well-played, Justin.
Round record: 3-0-0 Game record: 6-2-0
At this point they announce that no-one is getting the
big prize this week, as BOGC have lost records of some
of the tournaments, so both luke and justin are safe,
for the moment. ;P
Round 4: RDDU vs. my friend nick with hay.
Nick is my nemesis in this game. We can both beat each
other, and we tend to be VERY unpredictable. I've
played with him since we first got started playing.
Game 1- I get blastoise out turn 2, and he does not
have good pokémon out. I win.
Game 2- I get waxed. no hope for me, I just go down to
voltorbs and buzzes.
Game 3- It's close. He oaks a lot at the beginning of
the game, and I don't get toise out fast. Eventually,
It's down to a buzz with 2 energy on it vs. my promo
articuno with 30 damage. He has drawn his last card,
and this comes down to a coinflip. Heads, he wins,
tails, I win. After what seemed like an hour, TAILS.
first place for me. Whoopeee!
Round record: 4-0-0 Game record: 8-3-0
I get my prize, a base booster and a 1st ed fossil
booster, and I open them.
I get 1 buzz and a non-foil haunter.
Now, It's time for props and slops!!!
