Hi. Please bear with me because this is my first
killer deck report. This deck was created by bomiester also known as
the_evil_bill_gates in the Pokegym/Pojo Message Boards. Here's the deck:
Occult Powers
22 Pokemon
4 Fossil Psyduck
4 Rocket Oddish
3 Dark Gloom
3 Dark Vileplume
3 Sneasel
2 Scyther
2 Cleffa
1 Murkrow
20 Trainers
4 Proffesor Oak
4 Computer Search
4 Pokemon Trader
4 Proffesor Elm
2 Sprout Tower
2 The Boss's Way
19 Energy
8 Psychic
4 Dark
3 Rainbow
3 Double Colorless Energy
The strategy is to use psyduck to headache for the
first 2 turns so that the opponent will not use trainers and after setting up
sneasel on the bench, evolve to Dark Vileplume on the 3rd turn. With good card
manipulation and a good drawing engine, it's not that difficult.
Once Dark Vileplume is out. It's pokemon power
prevents all use of trainers. Therefore, the opponent plays 0 trainers for the
first 2 turns due to headache, and 0 trainers after the 3rd turn onwards due
to HayFever.
We played 3 rounds, in a best of 3 match.
Round 1: Boy with Haymaker (Hitmonchan, Scyther,
Rocket's Scyther, Rocket's Zapdos)
Game 1
I started with a scyther whereas he started with a
hitmonchan. He started first and attached LIGHTNING energy to his hitmonchan
laid down hitmonchan on the bench and passed. I layed down oddish, cleffa,
psyduck and sneasel (my hand was full of pokemon), retreated for psyduck,
oaked and got a couple of dark energies, a boss's way, a pokemon trader
and some energy. I attached psychic to my psyduck and headached, His turn, he
passed. Then, I evolved to Dark Gloom, attached dark energy to Sneasel and
headached. He tried to GOW my gloom but due to headache, he can't. I attached
dark energy to sneasel, used proffesor Elm and got the Dark vileplume. I
evolved and Beat up the hitmonchan knocking it out in the process. His turn,
he passed again and I beat up his scyther for the win.
Game 2
It was very much similar like the first game,
using headache for the first 2 turns and evelving to Dark Vileplume on the 3rd
turn and using Sneasel's beat up to finish the job.
Record: 2-0
Round 2: Benedict with Sneaking lock.
Now this is a deck that has to be feared of. This
guy said he modified the deck he saw on the Pojo Message Boards to suit his
playing style. The deck was originally created on the Pojo Message Boards by
Qin and/or FemaleQ (I think...)
Game 1
He started with a Neo Slowpoke whereas I started
with a psyduck. I placed down oddish, pokemon trader, dark vileplume for a
cleffa. attached psychic energy and headached. He attached energy to his
active slowpoke and psyshock for paralysis. Next turn, I evolved to Dark Gloom
and used it's pokemon power Pollen Stench. I was able to confuse myself, yes!
I attached energy to Cleffa and headached...heads. Next turn, he evolved
his benched slowpoke to Slowking. uh-oh...strange though...I must have missed
him putting his slowpoke down....then he psychocked for no paralysis. I
evolved to Dark Vileplume retreated for cleffa and eeeeked!! a couple of times
to get a sneasel with 1 rainbow and 1 dark energy on the bench. Then, i
retreated for sneasel to clear his bench.
Game 2
I started with a bad hand. Luckily, I went first.
He started with a slowpoke active and a slowpoke benched whereas I
started with a lone sneasel. My draw: Psyduck, phew! I retreated for psyduck
attached psychic energy and headached. I can't remember what happen then except
for later in the late game, he made a mistake in making Erika's Dratini as the
active pokemon as he had forgotten about my Sprout Tower. Then, I placed my
Murkrow as my active pokemon attached Dark Energy and mean look. He can't
retreat and he can't attack due to Sprout Tower and he can't play trainers due
to Dark Vileplume on the bench. He passed. Next turn, I attached psychic
energy and Feint attacked his bench. After several turns, he conceded.
Record: 4-0
Round 3, Finals: Calvin with Wigglytuff
Now, I was really nervous getting into this match
because I played with this guy in a previous final several weeks ago and he
defeated me. But then again, lightning never strikes the same place twice. He
was respected here because he uses a Wigglytuff as a Cleaner. His strategy is
to hit hard with Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal in the beginning
while stalling with smokescreen. After a while, unleash the Wiggly and win.
Game 1
I started with a Psyduck whereas he started with a
Fossil Magmar. I can't remember what happened in this match. But I do know
that he was able to kill my dark glooms and scythers as I wasn't able to
Headache in the first turn cause I got tails from that darned smokescreen.
Game 2
The strategy listed at the top. It went very
smoothly. I headached the first 2 turns, placed down Sprout Tower and evolved
to Dark Vileplume on the 3rd turn. Now, I am having resistance to his dreaded
wigglytuff. After several turns, I used Sneasel to clean up his bench. He did
however, manage to kill 2 sneasels. This guy is definitely pushing me to my
limits!
Game 3- Final Game
He must have gotten a bad hand. I used psyduck to
headache the first 2 turns and evolve to Dark Vile on the third. Then, sneasel
killed off 1 scyther and 1 Fossil Magmar. That was all he had with him. Sheer
bad luck I guess...
Final Record: 6-1
Now my props and slops,
Props to the_evil_bill_gates for making such a
great deck.
Props to everybody for playing with me, without
you guys, I will never be able to tweak this deck to it's limits.
No slops, I find them silly.
