My local league at WOTC ran a league tourney today to help promote the new card set Neo 4.  It was set up as 2 double elimination tournaments, with each person entering getting 1 booster of Neo 4.  Winners who made it to the top 4 got increased amounts of boosters; 8 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 2 for 4th.  There was a pretty good show up of players, with an equal mix of newbies and somewhat skilled players(the usual very good few were also there)  As a player, I like to think i'm somewhat feared in league/tourney play, but in the game of pokemon, you never know whats gonna happen.  Here's the deck.

     He went first with sneasel and swiped my Puff with a dark for 20 damage.  I layed down a D.C.E., played 2 Plus Powers, and killed his Sneasel resulting in a benching/F.T.K.

     Round 2 vs Tall Dude with Metal Chansey/Fortess/Rockets Zapdos

     This guy gave me a pretty good match.  I  kept him going slow most of the game by repeated removals, but every time i flipped to try to kill cleffa's, i would get tails. I at one point flipped 5 tails in a row.  Towards the end he made a little comeback, but my zapdos proved too powerful in the end and picked up all six prizes.

     Round 3 vs Jimmy Fenton with Tyrannitar/Clefable/Dark Teddy Pokemon or Something

     He's a pretty experienced player, but just couldnt take all of my constant removals i played.  None of his pokemon got a chance to really attack, i just removed energies he played, then picked off all his larvitars and stupid Teddy pokemon thingys till i benched him.

     Round 4 vs Sam(BOB) Auringer with My Deck(Puffin The Magic Dragon)

     This is one of the most experienced players at our league.  With a little work on deck building skills, he could be up there in the big times with Jeffery and I.  But dont get me wrong, this guy is GOOD.  We were both playing the exact deck, so I knew anything could happen because my deck is just plain Ownage!  We pretty much slapped each other around the whole game, and it came down to the last couple of minutes.  I had a 2 prize advantage over him and damage advantage, but i had nothing left to fight with.  Though I had to admit it, I stalled like anything. I got a deck count, then I just stared at my Discard and hand till time ran out.  This win gave me a bye till the final round since I was the only person left in the winners bracket.

     This guy seems like he can get to the finals, then just loses.  He had got 2nd twice before, and it seemed it wouldnt be much different this time.  I used Rockets Zapdos and Erikas Puff Dominatly with Super Energy Removal to just spell out ownage.  Sita has great potential though, and I feel will soon be able to raise himself to that next level of play(maybe)

     Stephen's got potential, and made a huge improvement in this tournament.  His deck was much more challenging than usual, but still was not enough of a challenge for my skills.  I used the same Zapdos the whole game, and just kicked little poke's teeth in.  Good Times........

     We had another close match.....very very close......ok ok i lost the match but just barely.  It came down to last turns again and I overlooked a very small detail that could've won me the game. It was still a great game, and I give Sam major props for having enough LUCK to beat me.  He put a scratch in my ego.....how dare him........he will pay.........mu ha ha ha ha

     This kid got lucky to get as far as he did in the tourney. I killed him horribly and picked up the win.

     Oh how sweet the taste of revenge!  The match was cut close towards the end, but for awhile I was on the losing side.  I started off horribly, but slowly came back, capatalizing on mistakes he made by exploiring them with gusts and removals.  In the end, I won by one prize on my last turn....good game.......Sam........Oh Forget That.........WHO'S UR DADDY SAM, WHO'S UR DADDY?!

     He finally won the big one.........I started off badly and just couldnt get going.  He got too many clefables out and I just couldnt catch up.....

To WOTC and its Employees Jeff, Thon, Mark, Donald, Art wherever you are, and I'm forgetting one of your names......is it Chris.....I dont know......well props to you guys...Great guys, very nice and they have a lot of patience with us when were crazy.

To Paul our Gym Leader.  Paul taught me all I know about Pokemon, so I wouldnt be where i'm right now without all he taught me.  He is always in a good mood, and organizes all of these great tourneys.  He also taught me how to play Counter-Strike, which is a Kick-A$$ game.  It's Da Bomb.  And so is Paul.  He's, in my mind, the best player in our league.....not just for wins, but for just being the guy who knows it all.....hes the best. Period.

To all of my opponents today in no particular order......

Sam-Your a great friend.....Great player......Great Relationship helper/Advice giver....Your just good!  We'll meet again.........(by the way, thanks for not killing me when I slapped you!)

Jeff-Great Player and Friend....always a challenge, just had some bad luck today.  Always a very funny guy......Makes the league a lot of fun. I'll see you Counter-Strike next Saturday.......I'll give you a half hour if you happen to read this!LOL

Sita-You've grown as a better player, and you gave me some good games.  Always fun to play against and can be funny, you make the league always intresting(You get those kids who talked about you playing pokemon.....LOL)

Blaine and Tyler-Really nice people.....Traded him to get a Blissy I needed......Helped me when I first started.....Just a friendly family......A welcome addition to our league.
