Hey Pojo!
I went to the Gym Challenge at Heidelberg in Germany.
I try to tell you the Metagame: There were MANY Feraligatrs in 11-14, MANY
Steelix Variants (With Espeon, with Slowking/Zapdos,...), some Giovanni's
Machamp, some Crobat and 3-4 Magcargo/Entei Decks.
One week before the tournament, my brother and me tested out all our Decks, except
for Magcargo. And we decided to play Feraligatr. But I wanted to play Crobat,
but Feral was the better choice IMO.
Okay. 4am in the morning we woke up and got outta beds and got ready to drive
to Heidelberg, yeaaaaah! When we arrived, I met some very cool people (Demian
S. from Holland, Julian S.,...) and we playtested a while and see what the
others were playing. Then, we talked a bit and then the tourney started...
By the way, here's my brother and my Decklist (We both played the same Feral)

Strategy: Get Feraligatr out on Turn 3 and Riptide opponent's Pokemon. If you don't get the Feraligatr, sweep away the opponent with Croconaw.
Smeargle seemed to be that good, so I played two, but 2
are not needed IMO. If I would change the Deck, I would remove a Smeargle and
add a Time Capsule.
ROUND 1 vs. Sascha S.
I won without playing because my opponent had problems with his Decklist.

ROUND 2 vs. Janni C. Surge's Raichu/Raichu Revelation
He started with Pikachu MP active and Unown D benched. He trys to attack with
the 1st Attack of Pikachu (Don't know the english name) but he fails because of
the Baby-Rule of my Cleffa. Then it was my turn, I attached a Water Energy to
my Totodile and wrathed a while. Then, I played Elm. I drew some good stuff:
Croconaw, Water Energies and Secret Mission I think. On turn 3 I had a Croconaw
charged up to KO every Pokemon from him. Then, he only had a Pikachu from
Lt.Surge, I evolved Croc into Gatr and Riptide for the Win.

ROUND 3 vs. Emanuelle G. Steelix/Espeon
He's only 12 years old but he plays SOOO GOOD. He started with Bill's
Teleporter...heads =\. Then attached a Psychic Energy to Eevee (Neo
Discovery)...heads =\=\. Go. I played Water Energy on Totodile and wrathed a
while, attached Focus Band, then Elm. I played some Babystuff (Cleffa and
Magby) on the bench and hit his Cleffa for 20. Then he plays Onix out, Psychic
Energy to Espeon and Bite on my Totodile. I evolved Toto into Croco and played
Healing Fields...heads. But then he played Chaos Gym, and that totally swung
the game. I didn't draw any Stadium Cards, so I sweeped away 2-3 of his
Pokemon...then I finaly drew Rocket's Training Gym, play it, Elm! Then I
evolved my Croco into Feral and kill his Steelix with 3 Metals attached and 14
Water Energys in the discard. I beat him easily then.

ROUND 4 vs. Martin R.
He plays Feraligatr, too. We decided to draw. We played 2 games just for fun
and I won both of em. Why did I draw??

ROUND 5 vs. Toni L.
I talked a while with him and asked, what he plays. He said Fire. No problem
for Feral, eh? But then, he wants to draw with me cause he wants to get into
Top8. I drew with him, but he didn't make it, because he stays 3-1-1.

My brother went 4-1-0 o_O I couldn't believe that. I taught him very well I
think
Then they called the Top8:

4. Moll, Peter 12P with Feraligatr (My brother!)

7. Jäger, Jan 11 P with Feraligatr
8. Garcia, Miguel 10P with Feraligatr
I couldn't believe it...5 of my friends (Sinan, Ele, Ben, Jan and my brother)
made the Top8, cool.
ROUND 6. vs Emanuelle Grippo
He started the game like in the game we played in the swiss rounds. I never got
the control of the game. He gusted out all of my Totodile except for one. I
never got Heads with my Cleffa for his Cleffa. But then, I did it and drew Croc
and Feral.
I had a little chance to win the game. I had only 2 cards in my Deck =\ I drew
a card, Trash Exchange =\ only 1 Card in the Deck....I knew that the ony card
wasn't a Water Energy (I counted in the discard, in the game and on my hand) I
had a Feral with 2 Water Energys...I trashed Exchanged....next turn, I drew my
last card...and it was...a Croconaw.
Bad for me. My brother got kicked, too, and Ele was in the finals with the
dutch Demian S, Demian S won the Gym Challenge (He didn't loose a single game,
except for one, he drew with Benni)

Props to his cousin Huy D., who taked the Deck by mail to me
Props to Ele, 12 years and such a good Player. Anyways, I play better (But he
got into the finals by HEAVY LUCK, I'm not kidding...Bill's Teleporter..he
didn't flip a single Tails the whole day he said)
Props to my brother, who did very well
Props to my Deck, it did well except for the last game
Props to Demian S. for beeing a nice guy and winning the Gym Challenge

Slops to me, because I didn't draw the last Water Energy
Slops to me, cause I drew 2 times and I would have won these games
Slops to Miguel G., cause he cheated 3 times (Against my brother, against Sinan
and against a guy I don't know!)
