Swiss games were a mix of easy and difficult games. I went 5-1, my loss was to a T1 Flygon ex where I simply could not setup. The best and most difficult game of the day for me was against a Flariados build. I had to resort to flipping for Dragonite's agility until I topdecked the castform I needed to use Mew P5's copy attack on spider trap on Skarmory ex. After windstorming the crystal beach and laying another energy, I could copy Skarmory ex's second attack to KO it because of fire weakness. In another game, someone had someone else of the same sleeves' Top Cut I made top 8 as 6th seed, so I was paired versus 3rd seed player Omar. Omar was using a Feraligatr and Exeggutor build that was simply too slow. Throw in lightning weakness and it was an auto-win both games. Now I was paired against Ross Alexander, the player who knocked out my friend Ollie in the previous round. Ross was using a Flygon ex build but did not delta draw in either game. On the second game, I asked his hand size at the end of his first turn. Based off of 7 to start, -1 for the basic played, -1 for the transceiver played, -1 for the cost of the holon supporter, he should have had 4 but there were 5 in his hand... Ian Fotheringham was reassuring that it would be OK, but Ross was in tears. Whether or not he had cheated is an opinion, or a viewpoint but the ruling was given that it was an accident and the extra card returned to the top. Latios* helped a lot in making this matchup easy. In the final I was against Adam, undefeated with Destiny. I never expected destiny to be playable in our metagame because of all the Flygon ex around but somehow he did it! In both games I delta drew with benched dratinis using Dragonites as main attackers. I could not use Mew POP5 much because Adam focused on using Mew ex as main attacker. I lost the first game, and time was called on the second while we were of equal prizes (I could have won the following turn as Metagross had the potential to crush and burn to destroy any of Adam's pokémon when we were left 1-1 prizes, so I came second place. Overall: 9 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw. Props: SECOND PLACE! Yey! Trophy Playing Adam's awesome destiny Good pulls in the booster boxes Great friends Slops: Nick not making top cut Another year where I didn't get round the safari
