I know this is an OLD discussion (from like June) but I feel like bringing
it up again.  It is the Venusaur vs. Blastoise thing.  Which is the better
card?

First, Bulbasaur vs Squirtle.  Same HP and Retreat.  Squirtle's attack does
10 and may paralyze.  That's OK.  Many better cards.  To name some, Oddish-50
instead of 40 HP and same attacks.  I'm not counting Withdraw because you
should never use it.  Bubble is the same except you damage.  Now, on to
Bulbasaur.  A little slow, but OK.  It does 20 instead of 10.  Also it's a
half-potion.  It's very useful in the early game because many pokemon do 10
damage(i.e. Seel, Dratini, Voltorb, Magikarp).  Winner-Bulbasaur

Second, Ivysaur vs. Wartortle.  Wartortle has better hp and does more damage.
  Again, who needs withdraw when you can do 40 damage?  Ivysaur is different.
First poison then Vine whip.  Poison means lose 10 each turn so 10+30 from
the Vine whip is 40, same. BUT.....They aren't losing 10 on they're
turn......They're losing it on your turn, too!!!  That makes it 50, Equal to
Charmeleon.  Wartortle is better for fighting basic pokemon like those 40 hp
guys.  Ivysaur...He's a pull out an energyless pokemon from their bench and
wait for the poison to kick in.   Winner:none(tie) They're for different
situations.

Venusaur vs. Blastoise.  Blastoise is good early in the game, because it
charges up any water pokemon fast.  Now some people are saying "Blastoise is
better 'cuz it can attack in 2 turns while Venusaur needs 4."  (Using a
breeder, of course.)  Not true.  Venusaur needs four turns to attack but
that's not what it's power is for.  Venusaur was meant to be gotten in the
mid-game when you already have all your energies down.  Blastoise WASTES
space in your deck because you need more energy or you'll run out.  Venusaur
REDUCES the energy you need because you share energy with your pokemon.  The
attacks and HP:equal-the powers make up for it.  Retreats:Venusaur is better.
  (Another reason it reduces energy space)  Winner: Venusaur

Conclusion- VENUSAUR IS
BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
