I'm submitting another article to evaluate the new fossil series Haunter and the basic series one (Still can't get over the Charizard discussions that are STILL going on in this section. I go down to find Jynx, and I find ONE guy who is nice enough to post one dedicating it to me. Thanks Pokemonster2!). Let's examine both Haunters using a point system. That way, we can tally 'em up.

HP: Basic Type (60) vs Fossil Type (50)
(Winner): Basic (1pts)

Attack: Basic Type (50, but Pokémon has to be asleep to use it) vs Fossil Type (10, but puts the Pokémon to sleep automatically)
(Winner): Basic (comeon, the Fossil Type would get creamed in front of a Colorless Pokémon with a resistance. At least the other Haunter can get away with 20 damage, applying resistance) (1pts)

HP: Basic Type (none) vs Fossil Type (none)
(Winner): Tie (1pts each)

Resistance: Basic Type (-30 Fighting) vs Fossil Type (-30 Fighting)
(Winner): Tie (1pts each)

Retreat Cost: Basic Type (one) vs Fossil Type (none)
(Winner): Fossil (1pts)

Pokémon Power: Basic Type (n/a) vs Fossil Type (Transparency)
(Winner): Fossil (This power is COOL. It protects you against any attack with a 50/50 chance of not doing that impending attack. Great staller and the power works even for bench attacks) (1pts)

Totals:
Basic (4)
Fossil (4)

Awww... crap! It's a tie! I hate this! Well, I guess I have to conclude this with a "both are good in certain situations, no comparison can be made".
If you argue with my system or any of that kind of stuff, please tell me.

<editor's note:  I think this shows an inherent flaw in this particular point system. =)  -Scott>
