OK I'm just going to say that I AM using the point system, which is not
totally reliable. I am going to say that I like all three of these cards. OK
here we go.
BULBASAUR VS. CHARMANDER VS. SQUIRTLE
(this is the order in which they appear in the pokedex, so that I stay
neutral)
1. HP
Bulbasaur- 40 Not very good. This is just 10 more than the minimum for
Pokemon.
Charmander- 50 Just a little bit better than Squirtle and Bulbasur.
Squirtle- 40 Just as bad as Bulbasaur.
And the point goes to: Charmander! He just won by the skin of his teeth.
2.First attack
Bulbasaur- Bulbasaur has Leech Seed, which will remove one damage counter
from Bulbasaur. This would be a good attack except it takes 2
energies.
Damage: 20
Charmander- Charmander has scratch. This attack does 10 damage for one energy
of any color. Not a great attack. Damage: 10
Squirtle- Lucky Squirtle gets bubble, which rakes only one water energy and
has a chance at paralyzing. Damage: 10
And the point goes to: Squirtle!!! For one water energy, ten damage and a
chance at paralysis is pretty good. Charmander was right at Squirtle's heels
because it takes any energy.
3. Second attack
Bulbasaur- Bulbasaur has Leech Seed, which will remove one damage counter
from Bulbasaur. This is Bulbasaur's only attack, so its the same one
as in
the First attack. This takes 2 grass energies. Damage: 20
Charmander- Charmander has Ember. For a fire energy and an energy of any
type, it does 30. This would be a great attack, but you must discard an
energy. Damage: 30
Squirtle- Squirtle has Withdraw. It takes a water and a colorless energy. You
flip a coin and if it's heads you take no damage on the next turn. No Damage.
And the point goes to: A three way tie!!! This really depends on your
personality. If you like to last long, Bulbasaur an Squirtle's attacks are
good. If you like to hit hard, Charmander's ember might be right for you.
The score so far is: Bulbasaur-1 Squirtle-2 Charmander-2
4. Retreat cost.
Bulbasaur- 1 energy. Very low.
Charmander- 1 energy. Also very low.
Squirtle- 1 energy. Also very low.
And the point goes to: All three again!!! There isn't much to say, THEY HAVE
THE SAME RETREAT COST!!!
5.Weakness and resistance
None have resistance.
Bulbasaur-Weak against fire
Charmander- Weak against water.
Squirtle- weak against electric
And the point goes to: ANOTHER TIE!!! None have resistance and all of their
weaknesses are in pretty common decks.
And the winner is: A tie between Squirtle and Charmander. The final scores
are:
Bulbasaur: 3 Charmander:4 Squirtle:4
IVYSAUR VS. CHARMELEON VS. WARTORTLE
1. HP
Ivysaur- Ivysaur has 60 HP. This is bad for an evolved Pokemon, and this
makes Ivysaur easily beaten by Charmander.
Charmeleon- Charmeleon has 80 HP. This is pretty good.
Wartortle- Wartortle has 70 HP, which is OK.
And The point goes to: Charmeleon! There's not much more to say.
2. First attack
Ivysaur- Ivysaur has vine whip. It takes 1 grass and two colorless energies.
Damage: 30
Charmeleon- Charmeleon has Slash, which takes 3 colorless energies. Damage: 30
Wartortle: Wartortle has Withdraw, which takes a water and a colorless
energy. You flip a coin and if its heads you prevent the damage done to
Wartortle on your opponent's next attack. No Damage.
And the point goes to: Wartortle and Charmeleon!!! If you want to stall,
Wartortle is your best choice (out of these three). Charmeleon dishes out the
same amount of damage as Ivysaur but he can take any energy. This is another
tie because of different personal styles. Hey all you Scyther fans!!!
Charmeleon has the famous slash and still has 10 more HP!!!
3. Second attack
Ivysaur- Ivysaur has Poisonpowder. For three grass energies, It poisons the
opponent and it does 20 damage. Damage: 20
Charmeleon- Charmeleon takes two fire energies and a colorless energy and
dishes out good damage, but you need to discard 1 fire energy. Damage: 50
Wartortle- Wartortle has Bite, which takes two colorless energies and a water
energy and does 40 damage. Damage: 40
And the point goes to: Oh this is a tough one between Charmeleon and
Wartortle!!! Wartortle gets the point. Hello all you Scyther fans!!! This is
better than Scyther's Slash!!!
The current score is:
Ivysaur:0 Charmeleon: 2 Wartortle:2
4.Retreat cost
Ivysaur- 1 energy very good for an evolved Pokemon
Charmeleon- 1 energy very good for an evolved Pokemon
Wartortle- 1 energy take a wild guess what I'm going to say
And the point goes to: A three way tie again!!!
5.Weakness and resistance
Ivysaur- no resistance and a weakness to fire
Charmeleon- no resistance and a weakness to water
Wartortle- no resistance and a weakness to electric
And the point goes to: All three of the weaknesses are pretty popular, so
another three way tie!!!
And the winner is: A tie between Wartortle and Charmeleon!!! The
"saurs" have
no chance now. Here are the final scores:
Ivysaur 2 Charmeleon 4 Wartortle 4
THE MAIN EVENT
VENUSAUR VS. CHARIZARD VS. BLASTOISE
1. HP
Venusaur- 100 HP good, but not good enough to beat Charizard.
Charizard- 120 HP the most in the game!!!
Blastoise- 100 HP still good, but this points going to Charizard.
And the point goes to: Charizard. His HP speaks for itself
2. Pokemon Power
Venusaur- Energy Trans This lets you move grass energies from
Pokemon to
Pokemon. I just wanna know why Venusaur keeps trying.
Charizard- Energy Burn Turns all energies on Charizard into fire.
This
makes Charizard colorless.
Blastoise- Rain Dance Lets you attach as many water energy cards to
as many
water Pokemon as you like.
And the point goes to: DUH!!! BLASTOISE!!! I don't here of any Energy Trans
or Energy Burn decks. This is the most popular Pokemon Power in the game.
3.Attack
Venusaur- Solarbeam takes three grass energies. Damage: 60
Charizard- Fire Spin takes four fire energies and you
must discard 2 fire
energies.
Blastoise- Hydro Pump takes three water energies to do 40, 4
to do 50 and
5 to do 60. This may sound bad, but Rain Dance will get you the energies and
will have you attack on the first turn.
And the point goes to: Almost a tie, but discarding 2 fire energies isn't
great. Blastoise wins. I like Fire Spin more, but that's just my opinion.
This is really too controversial to decide.
The score so far is:
Venusaur: 0 Charizard: 1 Blastoise: 2
4. Retreat cost
Venusaur- 2 energies very very good for a stage 2
Charizard- 3 energies about average for a stage 2
Blastoise- 3 energies same as Charizard
And the point goes to: Venusaur!!! Well he does deserve at least 1 point...
5. Weakness and Resistance
Venusaur- Weak against fire and has no resistance
Charizard- Weak against water and has a resistance against fighting.
Blastoise- Weak against electric and has no resistance.
And the point goes to: Charizard. All three are weak against strong types and
Charizard's the only one with a resistance.
And the winner is: A TIE BETWEEN BLASTOISE AND CHARIZARD!!!
The final score is:
Venusaur- 1 Charizard-2 Blastoise- 2
The overall winner is- THE CHARMANDER FAMILY AND THE SQUIRTLE FAMILY ARE
TIED!!! The score is
Bulbasaur Family- 0 Charmander Family- 3 Squirtle
Family- 3
There you have it, the charmander evolutions and the squirtle evolutions are
equal. Sorry Venusaur fans.
