The Mystery of Energy Search!
    Everyone's been dissing Energy Search, ever since it came out.  "What a
pathetic card!"  "And I thought Fossil Gastly was bad!"  "If you had put
Energy in there instead of that waste of space..."
    Well, would you believe that I have come up with a potential use for
Energy Search?  Maybe the Stupid Card Hall of Fame might reject it some day!
    If you've seen any of those Killer Deck Reports, you might recall
Potpourri.  Or any deck that runs 3+ energy types.  Or even those decks that
run a scandalously puny amount of energy!  A lot of the time they report
having energy problems.  And I noticed that very few of them run Energy
Search!  It took me half an hour to find six 3-color decks (in various Killer
Deck Reports) that use Energy Search, and more than half of those ran only 1!
Please note that my searching methods were A:  Go to Killer Deck Reports, B:
Choose a Month, C:  Scroll down to 3+ color decks, D:  Open one, E:  Scan
list of cards, F:  Back-up, G:  Repeat Steps C-G until all 3+color decks have
been seen, then start back at A!  A half hour of doing that, but it's late
and I was bored!  I went through about three months before I found the
afforementioned six decks.
    Why don't people use Energy search?  It makes gobs of sense in those "Few
Energy, Many Colors" decks that seem to be so popular these days!  Energy
Search provides the color of energy that you need, when you need it.  Unless
that energy is all in your discard pile, and in that situation, I reccomend
some serious Retrieval.  Go ahead and use Energy Search as "fodder" if you
were lucky with energy during the crucial part of the game!
    Although people say 'If they had energy in there instead of Energy
Search, they'd have what they needed," well, what if they keep getting Psy
and Fighting energy when they need electric energy?  Although Energy Search
is a trainer, and you can only have four, when you *do* get it, it helps
increase your chances of getting out one of your five fighting energy cards!
    Props to Eeveegirl:  "4 Energy Search (to get the correct energy)" from
her December report; the only one I found that had 4 Energy Search!
    More Props to all of those people who claim that "There is no such thing
as a bad card" because every card DOES have a use at one point or another! 
    (Fossil Gastly was one of the first cards I ever got, and I would have
used it, if I had psy energy at the time!  Destiny Bond is a halfway-decent
stall.  It'd be more decent if there was no discard of energy, but the world
isn't perfect, oh well.)
