Some Common PlusPower Confusions.
Okay, everyone worships Plus Power, especially in those pesky
haymakers.
A lot of illiterate people seem to think that if they plop it on their active
pokemon it automatically does 10 extra damage when they attack. Now if
only
this was true... Imagine one of those no-damage extraneous attacks like
"Call
for Family" actually doing damage. Alas it does NOT WORK THAT WAY.
Let's look at the card itself:
"Attach PlusPower to your Active
Pokémon. At the end of your turn,
discard PlusPower. If this Pokémon's attack does damage to the Defending
Pokémon (after applying Weakness and Resistance), the attack does 10 more
damage to the Defending Pokémon."
This does NOT get around those instances where your attack
does 30 damage
to a pokemon with -30 resistance. All by itself, Diglett's Mud Slap does
absolutely NOTHING to Pidgey after applying Resistance. If you didn't
catch
that... When you actually manage to do damage to the defending pokémon AFTER
applying resistance, you add 10 with PlusPower. If your attack does DIDDLY
SQUAT to the defending pokemon after Resistance, then Plus Power does nothing.
It only works if you actually DO damage at all! Also, you have to
multiply
weakness before adding the 10 for PlusPower... Staryu with 1 PlusPower does
not do 60 to Charizard. It does 50!
I wish people would learn to read! Or at least read
with comprehension!!
Comments in parenthesis are just as important as the rest of the text on
these cards! "After applying Weakness and Resistance" makes a
HUGE
difference!

(correct me if you think I'm wrong... I have the card RIGHT
HERE and I DO
know how to read! The text on PlusPower is very straightforward if you're
paying attention!!)
